   Remember the paperless office
     How ‘bout the flying car
And back in the days of the Jetsons
we all thought we’d be living on Mars

Well, now it’s the stampede against coal
not to mention the war against oil
Not to worry, AI will fix everything...
     To make a living ~
                       we won’t have to toil

The Govemouse

The Govemouse

Govemouse is a seal shaped animal, friendly
and they were plentiful often used as Sunday steak
and a must at Christmas when their meat was
used to make sausages and meatballs.
A villager, who had spent many years in France
brought sheep, and a few donkeys to help
carrying the harvest of carrots and cabbage down
from villagers fields.
Wool and meat make a sheep.
The Govemouse, no longer needed migrating down
to the coast, the few that stayed became pets
for the children and cared for by elderly women.
A road up to the village was built and many tourists
thinking it was romantic, but the strange man who
had lived among them took his knapsack and left
for the coast, where he noticed a ship in the bay that
had been abandoned by its owner and the crew had
not been paid for the last year.
They had nothing to eat and since they were paperless
could not go ashore.
What saved them from starvation was the Govemouse
that was happy to be useful again.

Remote Control

Remembering all the many years
we called on you to drop your fears.
Audits we said you would not fail
if signature were by email.
And invoices in copies sent
would not end up with noses bent.
We screamed paperless for so long
and all it took was a viral song.

You said we’d never work from home
Doing conferences by phone,
or Zoom which we had for a decade.
You stifled every sensible upgrade.

Then once the threat got up in your face
In two weeks the undoable was in place.

If Tomorrow's Promise Was Broken

beneath the effulgence
of obscured moonlight
emanate shadows stalk
as i draw close
within the weakened sighs
of misted breaths
on bended knee
as pleas abate
within the confines
of dark nights

cockcrow may come
without rise
of my eyes
sanguine skies
blushed against
pale skin
as folded hands rest

fear not
for i will join those
bereft of life
in more than memory

my eyes have seen
tangerine tips of trees
within autumn's breath
pirouette down
in scribbles on ground
beneath bloodied sun
against crimson skies
as lilac hues faded
against the ocean

i have heard
its thunderous roars
as it wet-kissed the sand
while gulls scurried
in its wake

i have tasted
the lingers
of its salty spray
fall from the corners
of mine own eyes

the sands of time
have etched
the same trails
upon my face
of my yesteryear's
plight

i am weathered the same
as the shores edges
in its lash
as it pressed back
against storms

i have etched my words
upon paperless memories
in the depths of your mind

for i will linger there
if tomorrow
were to never rise
through my own eyes

Premium MemberI Need To Have More Fun

My resume's not done
I need to have more fun
No, no no -- no more work
  50 years've made me berserk

Do this, do that, jump through hoops
To please the boss one has to stoop
No matter what his mood that day
  Yours'd better be 'A-OK'

Recent years saw system changes
Get used to one -- poof -- it rearranges
And the 'paperless office' we yet await
It's arrival already forty years late

No, spare me more work, if you please
I prefer to contract a fatal disease
For my resume is not quite done
I really and truly must have more fun

Drifting Away

To see any clearer
  I drifted away

From your
   lies

From your
  madness

From your paperless
  tray

The word forest
   called

For my pen to break
  free

From the blurred
  introspection

Hovering close to your
  tree

When my vision
  unclouded

A bigger picture
  appeared

In whose distance
  I found

What your emptiness
  feared

Junk Mail

Another piece of junk mail came today,
Trying to get into my wallet,
Old man tree died,
Because someone wants to get rich.

They said we were becoming,
A paperless society,
So smart and digital,
Tell that to the tree.

An origami surprise
Violets I suspect
Butterflies tremble
My clothing and hair
Next time...
I go paperless

Premium Member- Paperless Love -

Searching for something without fear
I will protect all the perfect times near
Have you found the ladder of heaven in light ?
The moon shone and showed me the path at night

Can you see a galaxy, bright
Search the North Star it's a bit of a sight
Memories begin to flash, thoughts follow
Eternal love between beautiful swans, visit them tomorrow

Premium Member- Kiss Paper Goodbye -

An ocean of papers
         A collection of a lifetime
         It's not about love letter
         Documents and receipts
         Paper that has been yellowed
         from ancient times
         Dust dancing in the sunlight
         Everything has to be markuleres
         How many kilos
         Nobody knows
         A new generation
         Paperless society
         Computer world ~ thanks

Cigarette Bud

Curl me up a tree
Wrap me into a bundle
Light me up like a candle
The warmth of my joy
Kills the carvings you fear
Yes, it bothers me
How you take pleasure in my pain

We are paperless in this age
The pen is made useless on a page
This knowledge falls on deafness
Enlightenment ends in blindness
Scientists, powerless
Fear big business

Imagine the textbooks in the toilets
Education flushed down the drain
The empty classrooms
The air thick with ignorance
The stench of a mental disease
Written on the chalkboard, “REcyKiLL”

FAX me to your heart’s content
The pulp, I hope he gets a paper cut
I wept until my roots were uprooted
My leafless branches dried up and twisted
My timber became rooftops
At least cultivate me an artificial forest
A sort of vegetation urbanisation

Then my offspring would grow
To see the light of day
Taller than the black clouds of smoke
I couldn’t clear

Paying the Bills

The bill arrives; I give a glance
And if it seems correct,
I grab my checkbook, write one out,
The same as you’d expect.

I pop it in the envelope
And choose a proper stamp;
You’ve noticed now that I belong
To that old-fashioned camp.

“Go paperless!” the invoice says.
“Pay what you owe online.”
I’ve always paid the bills my way
And things have worked out fine.

Despite my smartphone, basically
I’ll never be high-tech,
But companies are glad, I’m sure,
When they receive my check.

Premium MemberCz I Sed So

It’s Dead! Buried! Murdered! By
Societal Evolution. Technology has
Guillotined it, chopped to,
 Shards of quick transference.
Paperless, Ephemeral, Unbounded By
Chemical mixtures, giving whole
Recognition, permanence. Now
It is whisked away, as Dandelion fluff
In the wind of electrons.
Meaning given by consent of,
Ignorant users, only capable of,
Mangling, what they could not
comprehend in full form.
Butchers trying to extract more
Time for Air Head endeavors of
Tactile and Visual and Auditory,
Sensations of Erotic Exercises,
That soon callous the senses.

Premium MemberLost In Ink Stains

My words are lost in ink stains
Verses smudged in prints of you
Illegible scribbles soon fill in lines
Once paved with love anew
Now only paperless pain ensues

An unnatural sequence of thoughts
Scribed in distressed hues of blue
Will re-actively release your grip
But the pain it can’t undo
Now only agony grew

My heart hands weep writes of tomorrow
My paper and pen are tempered in sorrow
My emotions bellow wallows

Of a mournful mind
I pray
This too
Shall pass
In time…
