Paying the Bills

The bill arrives; I give a glance And if it seems correct, I grab my checkbook, write one out, The same as you’d expect. I pop it in the envelope And choose a proper stamp; You’ve noticed now that I belong To that old-fashioned camp. “Go paperless!” the invoice says. “Pay what you owe online.” I’ve always paid the bills my way And things have worked out fine. Despite my smartphone, basically I’ll never be high-tech, But companies are glad, I’m sure, When they receive my check.

You can find ways to get around the block. But the block will always be there. I pay a lot of bills over the phone, but I don't trust online paying. However it's done, I make sure the utilities stay on. You have hit a nerve with this one Ilene. Thanks for sharing. :-)

There's something solid about paying with paper. But just like seatbelts, give us time and we will breath the vapor. Peace. :)

Always love your poems. I pay by mail as well unless it's local. I sometimes just take it in a drop my payments off. I just love how you not only rhyme your poems but you pick such wonderful subject matter. Soup mail
