Do you see this home I made,
as well, the streets, houses and moon?
You are just a game I play,
ceasing to exist very soon.
Once out of sight, out of mind;
mere puppets dancing on my strings;
Life is illusion, you'll find
no magic with what freedom brings.
I will create the rainbows
or thunder as my mood dictates;
My rules, nobody knows,
along with all your future fates.
If you deign to interfere
I'll fill you full of distraction;
Better say your prayers right here
and give us both satisfaction.
Stopping on the clifftop
staring out to sea
waiting for the clipper ship
will bring him home to me
looking on in longing
as the sun burns my eyes
listening to the breakers below
and above the seagull cries
waiting is the hardest part
my heart is empty when he's gone
and all the while knowing
it's here where we belong
I'm here he's there
but it doesn't have to be
sometimes something comes between
is often how it goes but out of sight out of mind
for me is really seldom seen
standing on the headland
gazing out to sea
searching for the sailing ship
will bring him back to me
and here or there
in the darkest night
the lighthouse shining bright
shows the safest way
but who's to know which way to go
in the blinding light of day
Sad to see so many books
for want of being read
dying on the library shelf
some look as tho' they're already dead
and to think I could devour them all is fiction
I would be fooling myself instead
I've consumed all the classics Shakespeare complete
but science and mathematics have me completely beat
with all the thought authors put in hate to see it go to waste
can't put a good book down once I've had a taste
the silence of the written word
drink in the view something on which to chew
speaks volumes there's so much to tell
literacy is as the Trojan Horse inside my heart the citadel
don't want to see them fall by the wayside
thrown in the weeds on the seedy side of town
not wanted around
dropped in the dump out of sight out of mind
take a look there's so many books check them out
and oh so little time
I still hear a vocal command,
"Get out from under that bed!"
They'd put a lock on the closet;
I had few places left to go.
Remembering childhood fears
and the maple tree where I was
out of their mind behind the garage.
My heart cried
Please loved him no more.
It hurt more and more than before.
My brain questioned
Why did you keep on thinking of him for?
You should practise
"Out of sight, out of mind"
My eyes pleaded
Where has he been all these days?
I wanted to see him just one more time.
Why was he so hard to find?
Made me wondering days and nights,
Would he still be sitting at the same place?
At the desk to surf on the internet as always.
My nose sniffed:
He had strange odour, but it was quite unique.
At the corners of my lips,
My round dimples tipped
He also had two but elongated in shape,
And they appeared each time he grinned.
His face was almost perfect,
Except a calculus on the buccul of his tooth.
By now my hairs proudly tousled,
I kept your neck warm in winter
And gave you shades in summer.
But he had none what so ever.
My legs were short and stout,
His legs were long but could not play
The swings in the play ground.
Has my brain teased or cheered my heart?
When and will he mend my broken heart?
No words to describe his eyes,
I hardly looked at them due to being shy.
No longer seen nor heard
No visits nor calls
Not involved or included
Feeling insignificant and small
Out of sight , out of mind….invisible
Treated as such
Past your expiry date
No longer required…..out of touch
Do not let others ignorance define you
You do not need them to feel complete or whole
Always remember YOUR value and worth
Live your life for YOU as that is what you control
What’s our love index,
if out of sight, out of mind,
is our orientation?
We do not obsess
on forms that are manifest,
knowing God’s omnipresence.
No rush to get up and get going
Sunday’s a lazy affair
Maybe the lawn could use mowing
But then again so could my hair
True, the garbage is piled high
Yet ‘out of sight, out of mind,’ I always say
So when nobody’s looking – I’m so sly –
In the basement I hide it away…
What? Time for the big game on TV?
I’d better rouse myself and go get snacks
‘Cos what would the game of the week be
without large fries and Big Macs?
I lost a friend; Jason really loved his gin.
One night while he was on a binge.
He walked off into the deep end,
now no one has ever seen Jason again.
I lost a friend; his life was his duffle sack.
One day he headed to Iraq.
I didn’t know him when he came back,
well I guess Billy’s mind slipped right off its track.
I lost a friend; his name was old Stan the Man.
Spent two tours in Afghanistan.
Survived bullets and scorching heat,
just to come home and get shot down in the street.
I lost a friend; lived in a house on the hill.
Had two kids and a bag of pills.
One day they found her on the floor,
she’s not going to need those pills anymore.
I lost some friends; I only think about them.
Oh, once in a while, now and then.
Don’t want to seem harsh or unkind,
but as they say, they’re out of sight, out of mind.
You know that life is a very fickle thing.
Make the best of what it might bring.
We’re just a bright flash ‘cross the screen,
before we can blink… we’re just a memory.
They called it terminating a pregnancy you know,
like they were canceling some out-of-date TV show.
If you don’t like the song do you kill the radio,
Oh Momma, surely there has to be a better way.
You never gave me the chance for my life to unfold,
for me to fall in love, to laugh, to cry, to grow old.
And now the story of my life can never be told,
Oh Momma, why have you flushed my hopes and dreams away.
I understand what you’re saying, it’s your right to choose,
you don’t need some bureaucrat telling you what to do.
But what about me mommy don’t I have some rights too,
Oh Momma, I’m out of sight out of mind so they say.
To dream, to breathe, and to love are rights that my God gave,
to be allowed to follow my path from birth to grave.
Should you be permitted to dismiss that with a wave,
Oh Momma, for the world’s sins why did I have to pay.
heart wishes to be hugged
but the world is indifferent
out of sight, out of mind
no one has yet noticed
soul’s disappearance
Poor Patsy had Pigeon's toes,
She also had a Beaky nose
Crows feet around her eyes
Eagles wings so she could fly
Up in the air, she would go
Nobody noticed her Pidgeon's toes,
As higher and higher Patsy rose
Out of sight, out of mind
She was unique, one of a kind
Where she came from, no one Knows.
Heaven's grace

Count back from 10
Leave your body behind
Get the surgery done
Out of sight, out of mind
If only we could heal
Our problems the same way
Cut them out with scalpels
Disposed of in medical waste
But life is complicated
More often than we realise
We can try to simplify it
But it's difficult with emotional ties
Being human takes its toll
That's why we die at the end
No one should live forever
The lessons are part of our journey
Everyone has their problems
No one is exempt from the tests
We only choose different paths
To learn and grow to be our best
Everyone has choices to make
No one else can do it for our souls
The triumphs and the losses
Are ultimately ours to hold
Maybe if we count back from 10
Breathe slowly and meditate
We'll find solutions in the ethers
And raise ourselves to Heaven's grace

Oh darling,
if our eyes could meet again,
they'd have conversations
that hearts could not comprehend.
We'd be stunned by the distance
sworn to tear us apart,
for gone are the times we felt like one.
I'd kiss your face, to appreciate,
all the moments, treasured 'til date.
Our past endless debates, pillow dates,
receiving great advice, you and I were divine.
I would have loved to call you "My One"
but we were three and never just us, two.
Take care of the baby
and the mother of your child,
I'm okay, I promise,
out of sight, out of mind.
You and I were a seasoned occurence,
falling for you, was never enough.

Boys and girls
These are hangers
Especially for you
Please don't simply throw your jackets
On the bed or chair
Please hang them up for airing
For the laundry worker
For your eyes too
Out of sight out of mind
Hangers will remind you
To wear them regularly
And also remind you
The love of mother
Buying them for you
