MIRROR, MIRROR*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wearing a green gown, stood Starr~
a squirrel princess known near and far.
In front of her mirror she did prance
With an ego royal, filled with self-romance
“Mirror, speak of my beauty. Show me some devoir!
The mirror was wise, tried not to speak.
Thought of the princess as ugly antique.
“Your hairstyle is a horrible a mess,
And that old dress is just not noblesse!”
“Have you lost your mind, you glistening freak?!”
“Me thinks I have. What’s come over me?
Of your beauty I unequivocally agree.
I’m just a lowly piece of glass,
Who spoke out of turn, with sass.”
He paused then said, “Princess, you’re the bees knees!”
*Note: The phrase "Mirror, mirror on the wall" originates from the fairy tale "Snow White," where the Evil Queen asks her magic mirror who is the fairest of them all. This line has been popularized in various adaptations, including Disney's animated film.
Consciousness is an enigma
that lurks within the brain,
connecting neural pathways
across organic terrain.
It is what stares back at you
When looking in the mirror,
an observation of itself,
a vessel to be steered.
We attempt to understand
where it originates,
maybe cause and effect,
something the brain creates.
Or maybe it endures beyond
even the physical plane,
transcending death and moving on,
catching some cosmic train.
For years now I have tried to understand your hate…
to find the cause…the reasons…
the source from where your anger originates.
I’ve tried to understand how much pain and suffering on others
you are willing to impart and to ignore.
I’ve wondered when and how you began to hate
everything that I sand for.
I’ve often wonder how you sleep at night…
where do you find your joy…
when so many things that mean so much to so many
you are willing to destroy.
I have seen and felt the pain of your hatred…
oftentimes I grieve…
When simple logic and years or scientific study
you are unwilling to believe.
But I have come to the realization I cannot explain
this hatred that has permeated our land….
for how do I explain something I will never understand.
So I will endure your anger, your prejudices, your enmity
if that is to be my fate…
As I stand up proudly and fight for…everything you hate.
I will do my best to stay resolute, courageous, unshakable and strong
and let history decide which one of us is right
and which one of us is wrong.
"Whose discernment is correct?!"
"They read but don't watch for Me,
So simple truth turns knotty:
Captives in a doctrinal fence,
Their interpretations lack sense,
Their expertise a mere pretense.
The truth originates with Me,
My illumination lets you see:
Your eyes see what I've planned,
Your ears obey My command,
Your mind will then understand.
My people will be purified,
My enemies will be petrified:
My plans - fully carried out,
Erudite prowess - a cop-out,
Dogma of men - a sellout.
The Scriptures are all about Me,
So seeking Me first sets you free:
The arbiter of truth is not man,
You must trust Me and My plan,
I will finish what I began.
My answer to you, 'Just watch Me!'"
Halloween is said to be All Hallows eve
Some say it's a pagan festival if they don't believe
It is believed originally to be from the celts.
As the candle in your pumpkin melts
A gaelic festival samhain the end of harvest
Not intentionaly macabre but more a feast
Halfway between the autumn equinox and winter solstice
It's also the word for November for the Irish
Trick or treating originates in the states
Where children go out begging with mates
Dressed up in costumes that can be scary
However some dress up as the little fairy
They hope to get lots of sweets
That only happens if they get treats
No longer do you see any tricks
Imagination of jack o lanterns and burning sticks
The jack o lantern used to ward away evil
Or some say it's to help the passed people
Navigation to the holy place
Hence why you must cover your face
Lots of food and candy gained
Beware if you should abstain
The evil spirits will deceive
If those children don't receive
Dedicated to saints(hallows) and martyrs
The dead trapped just for starters
If your unsure what I mean
This is the true meaning of HALLOWEEN
Isolated each aspect—bereft of any link,
An ambrosian aura encircles an empty clink.
Lenses produce rippling prisms out of embrace,
They glide through a quivering mind—arcane case.
Someone has trapped an aura in an optical hall,
Awareness is molded by external gaze—it recalls.
Whispers of sunshine and shade intertwined,
Cast shadows and advise on edges—undermined.
Memories faded into a sepia hue—silence now,
The howling gusts serve as audible avows.
This ancient wind originates from the past,
Weighed down by sorrow—of dwindling cast.
Smiles in darkness—as tongues held quiet,
Time is ethereal, and memories are defiant.
A sepia-hued whisper-echo beckons me,
An aureate beleaguer core is to foresee.
Being in ignorance of our true being or Self
If we say ‘good’ is what takes us nearer to the truth
And ‘bad’ is what immerses us deeper in delusion or in trance
Then perhaps we may look at thoughts, words and deeds objectively
An action is preceded by thought and thought originates in the heart
If heart is quiescent then there is no thought and hence no ego
The actions then done are in resonance with will of God
Simply because false ego-identity has disappeared
So, what then is karma but action in ignorance
As long as ego-identification exists, karma plays out
However when we wake up in the dream, the life play ends
The dreamer and dreamed now one, all that is, is time dissolved bliss
There's only one kind of love, that lasts throughout time.
Those who accept the ups and downs and still lay it on the line.
They give 100 to ensure the entire family is intact.
No matter what their digression, always have their back.
Imagine a one kind of love having a tremendous force.
Re-creating families, while begging to be outsourced.
We all know that kind of love is rare in this day and age.
What people call love has many shades of gray.
There's only one kind of love that originates from the root.
And if, you don't have it now, it wasn't given to you.
It is out there lurking trying to get your attention.
To put back what were "ALL GODS" true intentions.
Up the delicate dale
of latticed life,
at esoteric edge
of sinking sky,
hermit horizon
shimmers sensuous,
glows paled passion.
On convolute contours
of scrambled dream,
whirlpool desire
swivels in inert stream,
arcane mindscape
usurped unsculpted
in twilight obscurity.
In platitude plateau,
the final flow
originates inspired,
ordained for
integral fusion
with supreme sea,
the end embrace
of sublime silence.
Suffused whelmed
with sunrise hues,
longing precipitates,
perpetuity illusion
embeds eternity efflux,
carries virtually
the vibrant soul
to the buoyant bay
of bliss.
Plucky Jamaica shocks the Copa America winners, Brazil, in a scoreless draw that propels the Reggae Girlz to the knockout stage for the first time in only their second Women’s World Cup, and with only one goal in Group stage. Contrast that with Brazil’s first group-stage exit since the 1995 World Cup. Not the best way for Brazil’s mighty Marta Vieira da Silva to end her sixth and final Women’s World Cup.
beautiful chaos
‘how the mighty have fallen’—
Reggae Girlz advance
Poetry notes:
"Oh How the Mighty Have Fallen" is a phrase that originates from 2 Samuel 1:19, an expression of David's lament over the death of Saul and Jonathan. It is also used today as a phrase to imply the decline of a once-great person or entity.
In the solitude of my existence, a
sentiment of lonesomeness clings to me
like a specter, its icy fingers gripping my
soul.
As I strive to conceal the abyss within, it
only deepens, a voracious shadow
swallowing me whole.
What amplifies this unfortunate plight originates
from my sole refuge, my fragile
lantern in the daunting night.
I have come to embrace the bittersweet,
yet empowering realization that I am my
own unwavering support.
And in the presence of love's uncertain
possibility, I stand on the precipice of a
vast, uncharted sea, its waves of doubt
crashing against the shore.
Yet, hope shall prevail.
REAL LOVE
If you are looking for love
But in all of the wrong places
You'll find it is all in vain
And often brings hateful spaces
```````````````````````
The enemy sends you a “love”
Which takes you down a dark lane
Then brings nothing but....
His bitterness and shame
`````````````````````
So look for the higher love
That originates in glory
Which will give you peace and joy
So you won't end up being sorry
```````````````````````
This world is full of such victims
Of lust and shame and pain
Yet if you set your aim higher
You will never be the same
``````````````````````
For there is a Savior in heaven
Who knows your real need
He will give you a lasting love
If upon His Word you will feed
Sacred Dwellers
I am of Native American born
To be caretaker of Mother Earth sworn
I heal with powers, a medicine man
Tribal’s wise supernatural shaman
I am a sacred carved out Totem Pole
To recount familiar legends, a toll
Insightful spirit animals pride in
Taking a part as a loved guardian
I’m the buffalo hunted to survive
Tipis, meat, fur, vital to stay alive
I’m the turtle known as the peacemaker
That’s firm, serene never a forsaker
I am lizard, killing me brings bad luck
The creation story I play, soul struck
I butterfly bringer of dreams, arrange
Transformation and life cycle of change
I the wolf early ancestor of thee
Totem animal, wise, social, and free
Icon salmon renews energy rays
The legend conveys, respect natures ways
* Shaman translation- The word originates from the language of the Tungus people of Siberia. It can directly be translated literally to “one who works with fire”.
* Tipis (teepees)
When we are made of mystery,
Having in us that same light
From which originates our essence,
And,
When we have abilities and opportunities
Thrust unto the open palms of our hands
Does it not become a must
To make of ourselves
An emblem on this fallen Earth?
Can we not paint smiles upon drained faces
Or imbibe hopes in desperate souls
Or even fill empty hearts with unrhymed poetry?
Why,
Can we not write of our stories
As we make of others,
Kings and Queens in their own rights
And being thereby,
Their light,
That which they shall always keep looking up to
As the ones who bid them
To open their gaze to new dawns
And to paint twinkling stars in the
Darkness of the night?
To be a living light
Is an opportunity lying there,
In our hearts, minds and souls
And all we have to do is
To wake up our dormant power
And use it to its fullest
For living as a selfish shadow
In an uncertain world is certainly
Not worth it!
