the jazz-playing giraffe is on the sax and bob is on the fiddle
Let’s do some dancing down the hill and meet in the middle
I loved what I was hearing from my auntie Doris, Diddle Biddle.
Ended up staying out all late with a friend who tells a great riddle.
The hoot owl was on the fiddle, the frog was dancing away.
Faeries, brownies and Luna moths joined in this October day.
Their frolicking was so much fun, they brought in a blue jay.
He stood back by the piano, giving their jive a bit of sway.
Nothing gloomy about tonight, they finally said as day went away.
They were now dancing in the moonlight, with a sky of gray.
The hoot owl gave the fiddle playing over to his cousin Shay.
The dancing continued through the night until the next day.
Play on the fiddle and on your toes twiddle
For life may pass in a twinkle, no time to dawdle
Before your powers dwindle, with joy, your life kindle
Be helpful and save good memories to fondle

Single girls don't set out to snare
The husband of anyone fair
They just want to diddle
Someone on the fiddle
Who always wants more than his share
New age hurdy gurdy on the fiddle,
lotus pose squatter spookily enthrals,
Sultan nail tip sky diver of the fretboard
Old King Troll
Had a very long pole
And a very long pole had he
He called for his wife (she’s his trouble and strife)
And he called for his mistresses three
King Troll sat in the middle … his wife said you’re on the fiddle
This fact King Troll couldn’t deny
All the women took a swipe at him and gave him a black eye!

Hillbilly Music
Grandpa got the boys to gather at night.
Grandpa on the fiddle is so sweet.
Old Pa on the big bass can really make it sing.
Uncle joe plays a mean wash tube.
While I slap the knees with my spoons.
The sound of old rocky top
Brings the valley to the hills.
We play all night long
As the sing the songs.
The hills do rock to the hillbilly sound.
Of nothing can be finer the being in Carolina.
Hillbilly music is the sweetness of the hills.
People problems are the worst
A heart ache, to be frank
First learned this when promoted
To a supervision rank
That was a long time ago
But things still haven’t changed
Today I’m leader of a band
That must be rearranged
My fiddler’s a close friend
Eighty seven years old
Has trouble with his left hand
But has a heart of gold
I have told the band members
Although Sam’s getting slow
He’ll have to decide to quit
Before I’ll let him go
Old Fiddling Sam’s legendary
A showman from way back
Lost his touch on the fiddle
Appeal he doesn’t lack
Fiddler Emeritus!
Is something we might test
Only play songs he does well
Then sit out all the rest
Then find a new fiddler
To share the stage with Sam
He would have to be one willing
To let Sam be “Da Man”
I’m losing sleep on this one
Can’t tell Sam he must go
Time for that conversation
What’ll happen, I don’t know
Everyone dressed in their Highland attire,
With the whisky flowing all night,
I was at the local Ceilidh,
Where it brought me great delight,
There was Archie on the accordion,
And Duncan on the drum,
Fiona on the fiddle,
Accompanied by her mum,
The pipers drone was awesome,
As the eightsome reel begun,
You could feel the whole place vibrate,
As we circled and we spun,
The place awash with tartan,
All the colours from many a clan,
Blues,reds,greens and yellows,
Worn by every woman and man,
We danced so many dances,
Plenty i didn't even know,
But there was always a willing partner,
Step by step they'd show,
We danced away past midnight,
Into the very next day,
This was the Highland Ceilidh,
A memory that will always stay,
We ended off with Auld Lang Syne,
From Rabbie the man himself,
Wishing all good fortune,
And every man good health.
