MAN

Beware the wretched monster
that lurks in every man,
bereft of conscience, heart, and soul,
once sword's placed in his hand

Some need not this instigation
they live in such a state.
Stolen virtue, theft and murder
'tis hatred ills their fate.

Their flaws projected aimlessly,
at friend and foe alike.
Take no account while of the same,
paints words like heil and reich.

Such ugliness comes oozing out
their bitter crusty faces.
Unrestrained by guilt and shame,
their genders' big disgraces.

Real men need to take control,
step up unto the plate.
No end in sight to doing right.
End bigotry and hate.

The Silent Kiss

The silent kiss can come with secrecy
minus a face to reveal its patron.
           Easily detected singing love’s strong melody,
           best surprises come from unknown mister or matron.

     A twenty-dollar bill found tucked in a pocket
     with an unsigned note – spend as you like.
          Unasked-for help with a faved broken locket
          echoes thoughts of that boy with his thumb in the dike?

Without coveting acclaim for paying-it-forward
  the silent kiss means planning things through;
taking serious your promises - keeping your word…
            notably to a child who has before mistrusted you.

      Cutting single neighbor’s grass and tackling her weeds
      can make a difference when she doesn’t have time.
Treating her and her kids to dinner knowing their needs,
the silent kiss takes no account for each nickel or dime.

Premium Member I Believe In Tomorrow

We have been given a myriad of reasons not to,
But I believe in tomorrow

Yesterday has lessons of despair and doubts,
But I believe in tomorrow

Some of our todays are unbelievable,
But we must believe in tomorrow

Yesterday and today were good, bad, and ugly,
But I still believe in tomorrow

Revisionists often try to change history,
distorting facts and creating fiction, giving
me more reasons to believe in tomorrow

No account of yesterday nor reality of today
can stop me from believing in tomorrow

Premium Member What Price For Glory

On stage he struts in sequined costume,
a plume of feathers cocked high on head
A thespian poet of no account is ranting
though his troupe boasts of his skill and talent
But the look of a charlatan paints his face
when he's alone. Heartache he embraces
for he's aware that he's been misleading
himself and his bleeding heart followers,
the extras he casts to applaud his show.

"Bravo!  Bravo!"
He paid them to sit in the audience shouting,
and boasting on him while standing in ovation.
They whistle for more, for his unearned encore.

He promises, "I'll support you all one day."
Foolish would-be, presume without a doubt
that he's a man of his word, but that's absurd
for actors such as he never share the limelight
once the spotlight shines on a narcissist's face.

What price does he pay for his moment of glory?
The highest toll is the loss of a soul.
Each bow he takes should give cause for worry
that one day the bird catcher will collect his due.
He'll barter with Satan for being haughtily boastful
for being puffed up with pride, and for his crime
the foolish one must relinquish his soul.

TRUTH'S LEDGER

There it was
What a surprise
The thing the heart
Had been searching, pulling,
Rummaging, toward...not knowing
PROOF

The proof of living
Written for all to see
There it was, in INK
BLACK, THICK INK
TRUTH had not stolen, taken, possessed
MONEY

Looking on through
The ledger accounted
For every penny spent
Not one dime toward the desire
Of the ONE yielding self for
FRUIT

LOVE keeps no account
The document is drawn up
In the substance of TRUTH's fear
Wrongly accused, blamed, sentenced
For treason toward the rejected
JUDGED

UNWORTHY TO BREATHE

.....well, that's getting shredded

Premium Member Love, be not proud

Humbly allowed
myself proud-- of
endowed graces

my will is free
pray for me, for
holy, pure mind

purity's crown
makes some frown, but
i'm down with it

my heart agrees
with Kolbe's, that
we please her heart

Immaculate,
sorrows split, if
admit to sins

humbling my pride
don't just hide, from
God's side of Love

friends are okay
unless they-- lead
astray my soul

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs. Love takes no pleasure in evil, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
(1 Corinthians 13:4-7)
Happy Birthday, My Dear Friend
Happy birthday, my dear friend
You really are the best
You're absolutely fabulous
Better than all the rest
Treat yourself on this auspicious day
Eat some Thai or fish and chips
Have a wine (have more than one)
Blob on the couch and watch Netflix
On no account do housework
Or other tedious stuff
On this day you are Number One
So kick them up the chuff
I wish for you a joyous year
May all your dreams come true
And all good things come your way
Thank you for being you!
For Want of a Hug
Can a life be forfeit
snuffed out
for want of a hug
a need so simple
yet so powerful
that its absence creates
a crushing void
that only a hug can fill
a screaming aloneness
that only a hug can silence
and so
for want of a hug
I have chosen
to no longer be here
rendering that crushing void
that screaming aloneness
powerless
of no account
so yes
a life can be forfeit
snuffed out
for want of a hug.
Scones
Baking scones has been
The absolute bane of my life
Fifty-five years I’ve spent
Its caused me nothing but strife
Up and down the country
You’ll find them in any café
Soft, light and beautifully risen
The highlight of any display
I simply haven’t got the knack
No matter how many times I try
Mine are completely inedible
Concrete-like and dry
You can crack a tooth on them
Or perhaps prop open a door
Try using them as a paperweight
Or to holy stone the floor
On no account use them for eating
That I wouldn’t recommend
I will not take responsibility
Unless you have a dentist as a friend
But at last, I have cracked the problem
I have a plan that’s mighty fine
I’ll buy scones down at the shops
And pass them off as mine
Note.... NZ/English scones are known as biscuits in USA
Premium Member Holy Breath V
Your holy breath within my chest I carry, oh God,
The one, You did breathe into me on creation's day
That makes my heart, forever, invincible to feel
And, on no account, allows my soul to go astray!
Shaking Like a Leaf
Shaking like a leaf
Won’t make you a chief,
Never takes one to the top,
Never a popular prop;
Would rather one drop
And one’s mission flop …
Never for centuries A Lever,
Even slightly harms The Liver;
Therefore not a prize from its giver …
So, on no account whatsoever
Must your decisions waver
Nor at the sight of foes quaver
As neither is a saver
Nor you portray as clever.
How he wanted a poetry prize!
But no luck after seventeen tries.
Seems if he's a poet,
then few to none know it,
And his ego has come down in size.
He wrote poems in all forms and types,
and attempted to earn legit stripes.
For his Vogon and Grook,
he got labeled a kook,
but the rest drew no praises or gripes.
He created a contest and then
took a second account for a spin.
With a new nom de plume,
there was finally room
for a top-of-the-leaderboard win!
Premium Member The Forgiveness of Jesus-
He was a dirty no account sinner
Despise by the public a  recluse beginner
Embalmed in his filthiness
Contracted in his guilt
Who is he to compromise
And why must he be forgiven
For he must we all must trust in the redeeming grace
 the forgiveness of Jesus
Violence
I hope to pass
this bridge
doing my things
unopposed
for not all oppositions
are reasonable
if  for instance
something is opposite
on no account, tell
I have never known
a personal recreation
other than dreaming
if it follows at the
right time.
Premium Member As With Job So With Every Believer In Christ - Amos 9: 9
God is supremely graciously good
to all that He owns as His own
among all the nations that He made
for Israel, He will shake even His known
Behold the Lord commands in His voice
to divide His precious from those of no account
even the pebbles are God's own formation
loving them so dearly like to His divine fount
Everyone who believes in Jehovah God
is called precious in the Lord's own heart
nothing shall separate His love from them
specially joined uniquely in no small part
As with Job so with every believer in Christ
for Satan is held in God's sovereign chain
so it is equally for every believing child
God's in total control so Satan has no gain
God's sieve is taken to shake about
all that exists around the nations
but all of God's pebbles are securely safe
for He has a place within His holy station
(“For behold, I will command,
    and shake the house of Israel among all the nations
as one shakes with a sieve,
    but no pebble shall fall to the earth.)
Amos 9: 9 ( ESV)
