Like a cat,
I've nine times to die —
and love has taken seven.
Once,
when you said my name like it was a question.
Twice,
when you answered it with silence.
Thrice,
when you loved someone else
in front of me
like I was made of stone
instead of soul.
I keep returning —
from wreckage,
from wreck,
from wreck again.
You don't know
how many lives I’ve lost
just staying alive
next to you.
And still —
I come back,
tail flicking,
heart limping,
eyes full of the same soft hope
that kills me every time.
Eight.
That’s when you smiled
and didn’t mean it.
Nine…
Well, nine is today.
And I’m still here.
Still breathing.
Still breaking beautifully
in front of you.
So tell me —
When a cat runs out of lives,
what does she do?
Does she finally sleep?
Or does she
learn how to die
without anyone
noticing?
Sultan of Nanobad bed nine wives,
each of them for each day of the week,
but he would bed two for each weekend!
His first wife he married for wisdom,
the second for her poetic skills,
the third and fourth for their pretty looks,
the fifth to run culinary drills!
He would brag the rest “for my pleasure”…..
but wives loved him only for treasure!

A time for Nine poetry contest
Nine days and she is counting until
Her age will be nine times nine plus nine
She wears a size nine dress, she reminds
Tells me please do not make such a fuss
Nine times I tell her not to worry
Simply dress yourself up to the nines
And we will celebrate your birthday
With all nine times nine candles plus nine
Everything will surely work out fine!

A view beneath the oak tree was sure beautiful
She waits for him to come, a heart bountiful
Her eyes viewed only what was lovely and wonderful
A tenderness she held deep within her pure heart
Living with peace, she waits for a new start
Water laps up to the shore near her feet
Making her warm life whole and surely, wondrously complete
Nine times has she ventured down to this lake
Her soul’s his if he would come and take

Nine Times Out Of Ten
Nine times out of ten, I would help a stranger,
Nine times out of ten,I would need help from another,
Nine times out of ten, I would pray for a better day,
Nine times out of ten, I would say there is no better day than this day,
Nine times out of ten, I would say were blessed,
Nine times out of ten, I would say what a mess,
Nine times out of ten, I said we were happy,
Nine times out of ten, I would say those bad times never happen............

NINE TIMES
i did not fathom ever loving someone so much
newborn child of mine
newborn child
what to do with you
will i be strong enough to be what you need
i cried nine times more than she
then it dawned on me
she is MY child and it ain't rocket science
she is MY child and it that hard to please her needs
nine times i laughed over my tears
nine times i jumped for joy when she learned something new
she is nine years old and i am just in shock
endless smiles when i hear her sarcastic wit
her sassy wardrobe that i only encourage her to partake with
her social skills are nine times stronger than her peers
she is wiser than her years
she is blessed with her grandmother and her great grandmother
who love her so
she is loved nine times more than she knows
she is loved nine times more everyday
she is outspoken she acts shy
she loves to dance
can't imagine why
newborn nine years ago
love her nine times more ... she just don't know
when you know you're right
and don't implement what you
think. you'll be sorry.
something
has come about
the moon and sun
have been drowned out
nothing
is going to change
this miraculous endeavor
nobody
has ever told me
to go about this any other way
time to fly
soar so high
ninety-nine
rounds denied
yes, the 100th one will hurt
bring it back
time to score
yes they want me many other ways
satan has
drawn his cape
he's cowered beside the fire
shadows overwhelm his weakened, weathered frame
he whispers in, my withered ears
ninety-nine times denied
ninety-nine times denied
all in vein
yes, the 100th one will hurt
