     	        stripped bare
                shivering
                my faultlines exposed
                   I stand before Him

                no one to defend me
                my record speaks for itself
                shame, far too mild a word
                    I stand before Him

               knocking at His door, poor in deeds
               asking for another year of life
               not because I deserve it

               but because He is gracious
               merciful, patient, long-suffering
               abundant in kindness and truth

New Years Resolutions 2026

New year  resolutions ,
Are best made in a new suit of clothes,
With the wind behind you,
Never in front of you,
If you want to make headway,
On a new way,
To keep fun and laughter,
At the centre of every day,
And the blues in a land far far away.

THE SHAPE OF LOVE

Who's to say what form it takes
when love is in the air?
It takes the shape of the lover's
heart with confidence and care.
It's free of form, undefined,
an amorphous mystery,
whose existential nature forms
as only lovers see.
Tis loves blind eye knows not
the hope of everlasting bliss,
or the intoxicating fever of
loves first tindered kiss?
Dare not to learn the ways of love,
as many fools have tried.
Breathe it in deep and fill your soul,
and swallow foolish pride.

THE NEW YEAR'S GIFT

On the first day of New Year-
This year gave to me,
One corpse lying in my living room.
On the second day of New Year-
This year gave to me,
Two stillborn babies,
One corpse lying in my living room.
On the third day of New Year-
This year gave to me,
Three empty coffins,
Two stillborn babies,
One corpse lying in my living room.

New Start

January the first
rolls around like a ball spinning in circles
and there is excitement about goals for the year,
achievements to be had
and activities and events to accomplish

Schedules are made to follow
Heathy Eating Plans are made to stick to
And Fitness Goals are made to follow

It's the New Start,
The New Beginning,
The Fresh Year,
that everyone looks forward to
every New Year on the start of January the First.

The New Year!

The clock is ticking, people holding their breath.
It’s the day people celebrate at 12 a.m.,
instead of fearing ghosts.
Cakes, fireworks, sweets,
filled with love, another year passes somehow.
It’s New Year,
a day with two sides:
hope and endings.

Premium Member Twenty Six

It's that time of year (again)
Where hopes are being redrawn
Some did gladly reign
While others meekly mourned

Some are glad to see the back
'A year of toil and trouble'
Others eye the years almanac
With expectations doubled

Me, it's hard to find a word
That sums up 'twenty five'
From leaving home to things absurd
Just glad to be alive

So, no, I'm not resolving
A list of endless changes
As problems I'm still solving
And fate still rearranges

Instead, I'm going to stay calm
And learn new skills and tricks
Do what I can to steer from harm
And thrive in 'twenty six'

Premium Member Day One

The calendar shatters as we step through the seam

Time sheds its skin let us become what we mean

On the First Day

So many view the year’s first day
Like it’s a brand-new start,
A time to take past problems
And to set them all apart.

Yet other first days differ –
At a job or school or class
Or a move to a new neighborhood
Where many strangers pass.

You have to find your balance
And make sure that you belong,
Maybe feeling that, no matter what,
Your actions might be wrong.

If you’re lucky, you will acclimate
And get into the groove
As you understand you’re fine
And needn’t struggle to improve.

On the first day of a year, though,
You are on familiar ground
So to shake things up within your world
This brand-new time around…

You must dig down deep and realize
You alone are in control
And despite your best intentions,
Life will somehow take its toll.

Still, it’s worth it to remember
A first day gives you a shot
To reach out to find contentment,
Using everything you’ve got.

Premium Member First Day of the New Year

It was the first day of the new year

When I realized you were leaving

While I was falling in love with you

I became so lost in my sadness

It felt so much heavier than anything else

During the bluest, coldest January I’ve ever felt

That was the first time I waited for you

I couldn’t bear to lose you or let you go

So I betrayed my needs to hug your soul

Now a year has gone by and I’ve been a fool

For crying and wondering and longing for you

Torn in my battle between head and heart

This toxic soul tie is tearing me apart

You’ve left and come back too many times

Without a shred of empathy or compassion

Now it’s my broken heart’s resolve

To get over you and cut the tether

On the first day of the new year

A New Year's Toast

We must forget the past and work,
together for a brighter morn.
Let hatred die with the old year,
and let our new future be born.

So, let us touch our glasses,
together in a toast to better ways.
Here’s to your prosperity my friends,
may life bring you better days.

Premium Member REGGIE'S RESOLVE

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Reginald vowed with nut-free zeal,
Salads shall be my balanced meal!
He heard advice (quite well-intended):
Eat the rainbow!—so his habits he amended.
In went the reds, the blues, and the yellows~
M&M’s sparkled like fruity little fellows.
Rainbow nutrients! he chirped with delight,
Munching his way through each sugary bite.
By February? A wobble, a sigh~
Next year, he vowed, I’ll eat kale... or fruit pie.
HAPPY NEW YEAR
A NEW YEAR IS BEGINNING,
A GOOD ONE FOR US ALL,
PEACEFUL,  JOY AND  FULL OF KINDNESS,
IF YOU NEED SOMEONE JUST CALL!
HAPPY TIMES AND LAUGHTER, SPREAD,
SUPPORT EACH OTHER,
GOOD TIMES AHEAD.
WHETHER QUIET SPELLS OR IN A CROWD,
IF IT'S CALM OR AT A PARTY,
FUN IS ALLOWED.
WISHING YOU ALL HAPPINESS AND CHEER,
LOTS OF GOOD LUCK AND A BRILLIANT NEW YEAR!
Premium Member Fiery Horse
Two souls intertwine,
the desire traces its path
Jackpot in sight
Shared movement.
Fruits so dreamed,
Brilliant desire, intertwined hearts
Two souls leap forward
Finally reciprocally
Finally
