the subject of my attention -
how I turn you over and over in my head and hands
gaining more focus
on my own mind's form and function
though in truth
the whole world and I can disappear
if I give you thought
but yet - you are tangible
can interrupt the space
between universe and fingertips
remind me that I am also real
perhaps, if I'm honest
I long to look up
and meet the eye
of the person who wonders
what I'm thinking
Inspired by The Necklace - Waterhouse
By Poet "Great memories are the best kind to have but some memories bring a waterfall of tears."
all little girls like to play dress up
mom had great hats, bags and pearls
her pretty white pearl necklace was long
around my neck
hitting my knees
her floppy hats were very colorful
the big red one almost covered my face
bringing out my pink rose blush tiny cheeks
I loved her big colorful bags
some with straps some with metal chains
playing for hours made me all grown up
at the time I did not know value
of this costume pretty white pearl necklace
a few dollars when new
years later I found them
new she only paid a few dollars
now all these years later I found them
where she left them sitting in an old box
the precious jewels I played with for hours
now with meaning more than if they were real pearls
Yaldabaoth's throat was bound ~ by a necklace of pearls secured by Christ's gold
(Inspired by the final line of the Song for Saint Ursula, by Hildegard of Bingen).
A
Star
Shines
So bright,
Sparkling clean
In the dark night sky
It peeks out behind a carpet of dark clouds
Like a cosmic jewel, twinkling bright in the sun
With its particles sprinkled across the sky.
Like thousands of gleaming pupils,
That gleam like pearls on a necklace:
Celestial diamonds aglow like fireflies
Heaven's joy hope beacons
Sent from God, just
To us

Do not wear pride like a necklace
For God detests pride and arrogance
Pride does not go unpunished
Pride leads to disgrace
Humility is rewarded with wisdom
While pride begets destruction
Cause it takes credit for God’s accomplishments
And covets God’s glory
Pride demeans others
It arrogates sense of Almightiness
To a mere mortal
Pride stifles growth of other virtues
Makes one to reject help needed
Prevents one to listen and help others
And deludes one into believing
In one’s self sufficiency
But in reality Pride is admission of weakness
Pride leads to extreme selfishness
Pride does not gratify
Pride does not exulte
Rather it dehumanizes and belittles
I really must stress,
I'm not ashamed of my N/A necklace.
We all place in some contests,
lose some too despite our best.
The literary world has rejection,
but we must pause for reflection.
A poem one judge may not choose,
another may select so don't feel the blues.
Our poetry tells its own story,
be it an elegy, haiku, sonnet, or humorous-
Penning it has its own glory.
So when an N/A appears,
I don't have tears,
we should write for ourselves first,
and watch a new day dawn in a sunburst. ~
Luminous
lights appear
in my long dreams,
as my soul, so it seems, holds high
a periscope
for my heart and mind to see
every surrounding scene
beyond the heavy, seamed quilt of history
laid over my long sleep,
my long night — as deeply
black as the pupils of my eyes
mirroring a moonless, starless mid-night;
yet my soul floats
within this ever-amassing eternity —
wherein gleams an airglow for some sight
of the softly glistening atmosphere’s heights…
arising
heavenward
and shimmering
~ while here within me
longings emanate
(for a communion with God
and a complete life)
appearing luminous and divinely embossed
— comprising my long, impassioned prayers
— all into making
the long necklace
of gold-linked
wishes and psalmed gratitdes
I kneel to sing
on these long nights
before my long sleeping…
victorian jet
long string of well-crafted beads
treasured memento
sepia image
with grandmother wearing beads
past elegance viewed
my own photograph
wearing the same string of jet
family heirloom
This garnet chain you gave me
Is proof of your love
And in this, your face I see
Smiling from above
I keep this chain near my heart
Wear it every day
Me and your love never part
In my soul, you stay
This garnet chain you gave me
Shining in red hue
A bond as strong as can be
Joining me to you
Scattered on the sandy sea shore,
She was thinking of the play of fate,
She could have become a large sea conch,
But the impatient waves left her alone on the shore.
Now she waits to meet her lover in sand,
With the longing of love, in the exuberance of beating waves,
If the waves could stay still on sand for a moment,
She could be holding him in deep love.
In the misty morning, she feels lost,
She does not have any clue of what will happen next,
In the colorful dusky sky,
She creates the image of her feelings in blue sky.
A man picks cowries on the beach,
Strings a beautiful necklace for his love,
Cowries feel happy in the necklace,
Will love to see the smile on the face of love.

Enough of a struggle,
When we banned goods smuggle
To against riches snuggle
And soon sound The Bugle
Enough of struggle:
Lots of body wriggle
For Danes’ Illicit Gin
That would lots of lips win:
South Africa Necklace
In Gold dressed like a lace…
In my mind a rifle
But its mention stifle:
Brushes with The Customs
Seizing people’s bottoms;
Curses of their custom
Of sparing not An Atom...
Ahead kicking kidneys
To down force one on knees
My birthday with whole chicken
Today is exactly The Day
I said I must find my way
Out of a Taxed Uterus,
With odds getting numerous:
Fifty-Two not Twenty-Five
Splendid to be still alive!
A Uterus that saw Hell,
When I started sounding my bell;
Doctor sure ‘The Post-Mature’
Now responding to Nature
A Most Terrible Bleeding,
Even as she kept pleading,
The time: Night’s 11: 15
Of A Rainy June 15
And I heard: staying at church
While Nigerian Bombs did search…
Today Short Story Writer,
In Poetry, too, A Fighter…
On a November day
just when the grey clouds started
to cry for me,
I collected one by one
some beads of rain that struck
on the window of my room
while I was in pain;
Just like diamond beads
strung on a golden chain
I also put them
onto a thread of ice for you
My Beautiful One,
and now am keeping them all
in a safe made of ice
without thinking about it twice;
As you know I'm so precise careful lover(!) :)
I hope you will love it so much
and keep it forever
coz I'm sure I made a wonderful necklace
that will absolutely match your character
A white stone necklace
with its delicate chain
laid around her neck.
Matching the buttons on her blouse.
It was a nuance.
Yet I picked up on it.
Like so many I watch for.
Countless times
I have tried to look away.
But my eyes only see
everything
I have wished for.
