Summer Here Again

When I hear the tweets of songbirds at dawn
Nesting in the oak tree outside my door
I smile at the sun shining on my face

A red bird scours the brown grass
Blue birds skeeter on tree branches above
Squirrels run up treetops scampering nearby

There's more fun in spring than wintertime
Tree frogs start to sing songs of joy at night
Fireflies lit the darkness as they mate

When I hear spring back, summer is coming
Hot beaches call my name to the ocean
Hot sand between my toes makes me holler

As I run for the shorelines' cool water
I dance my jig retreating from high waves
That reached my tighs quickly pulling me in

When I hear tweets of songbirds at dawn
I warmly smile at yesteryear
Hoping for another day to make fun memories

Beauty Found

Refreshing drops of spring’s delight
Lapidate winter’s frosty grip
Each slowly thawed nourishing drip
A gentle caress in the night
Revealing hope in warming rays
Inviting sounds of fertile days
As new beginnings come to sight.

From winter’s dreary ways of gloom
The visions of beauty return
From deep within their long sojourn
To welcome spring and gently groom
The path to summer’s warming sun
That feeds the life that spring begun
With beauty found within a bloom.

Premium Member Mountainous Tears

Water pool rippled as mountainous tears poured;
cascading rapids spray fallen boulder with foam.
Cleansing impurities that winter and spring stored;
refreshing mother’s evergreen menagerie home.

Cascading rapids spray fallen boulder with foam;
singing its babble, echoing against high rocky cliff.
Refreshing mother’s evergreen menagerie home,
with earthy rustic aroma in each new whiff.

Singing its babble, echoing against high rocky cliff;
surging under ferns of extended spindly blade.
With earthy rustic aroma in each new whiff;
presenting its wild fragrant outdoor glade.

Surging under ferns of extended spindly blade;
clear waters flow swift, sparkle in the sunlight ray.
Presenting its wild fragrant outdoor glade;
abundant in growth and a pure wildlife buffet.

Clear waters flow swift, sparkle in the sunlight ray;
cleansing impurities that winter and spring stored.
Abundant in growth and a pure wildlife buffet;
water pool rippled as mountainous tears poured.

Premium Member Sunlight

Peaking from behind the drifting clouds
Sunbeams glisten on the morning dew
The garden gate swings in the breeze
As smiling spring begins its life anew....

The golden sunlight warms the sleepy earth
Green now the color of my lady's gown
Jeweled hummingbirds flit from stem to stem
For waiting hearts the joys of spring abound

Soft showers bathe my blushing cheek....
Prisms for the sunbeams that promise life
A rainbow arches cross the mountain top
Time now to put aside the winter strife.....

Premium Member After the Storm

Yesterday's rain and snow, gone.
Replaced with this bright sunshine.
Perhaps spring is on her way.
Sun holds a promise.

Today, the storm forgotten.
The bright sun shines on the earth.
The deer dine 'neath the green trees.
Spring is on her way.

Winter, long and tedious
Has hopefully taken leave.
Birds and deer under sun's rays
Tell us Spring is near.

rains fall, rivers rise
spring’s arrival is delayed
she wears water wings

tulips peeking through
response to a pre-set time
too early for spring

daffodils on time
expected spring a no show
blooms droop in defeat

high waters recede
undefeated spring arrives
muddied but unbowed

The Throws of Spring

Its spring time
When beauty is released
Like a hand stitched
Patchwork masterpiece
Nature shows off
Her spring time finery
Spread like a throw
Over all you see

"spring In May"

Flowers are blooming on this chilly spring day..
Buds on the branches from the trees in May..
Pollen count so high as my eyes start to swell..
Wiping my eyes lightly with a story to tell..
Birds chirping so loud as they plan their time..
From tree to tree they sing to rhyme..
Here comes that crow again stealing the scene..
Screaming so frantic to his friends, not so serene..
The sun comes out to warm this spring day...
The tree line so bright with colors of May..

Spring

As spring comes around again
With its abundant falling rain
The rolling hills of luscious green
Are most pleasing to be seen
And with the renewal of spring
The heart lifts as if taking wing
When Daffodils break through
And spring flowers of every hue
Is their a better time on earth
To feel wealth of natures worth

Gently Wakes (Zanila Rhyme)

A kiss of warmth is not far away,
the hope of life shall return
with annual joy, Spring is born again,
when daffodils bloom in garden urn.

As the dormant Earth now gently wakes,
awash with colour she sings,
Spring is born again, with annual joy,
we see the hope in these simple things.

The spritely vigour of nascent life
is found in the floral beds
with annual joy, Spring is born again,
crocus and tulips, showing their heads.

And hearts too, turn to new horizons
seeking love's desiring glow,
Spring is born again, with annual joy,
and Winter knows it is time to go.

Spring

Season of butterfly's and spring showers
Pretty clear skies and planting flowers
Rainbows, ladybugs, and roses
Insects, lightening bugs, and sweet smells for cute noses.
Neighborhoods in full swing with outdoor fun.
Gardens emerge with spring nourished by the rays of the sun.

Premium Member Your World

Today I wake to see a lovely day,
Its beauty and its majesty unfurled.
I know that Heaven is more glorious
But Lord above, I truly love your world.

The fruiting trees, with their delightful gifts,
Enticing me to stay another day,
The gathered birds, preparing for a flight
Are more in touch than I am of the way

We are to live, aware of the earth's worth
And then move on to Heaven's grand array.
Is it such sin to long to linger here
When I remember how it is in May?

I would not leave when a new spring surrounds
Or when the summer breezes scent the air.
And in the fall, enthralling with its charms,
I can't conceive that Heaven is more fair.

When all the trees with winter's frost are pearled,
You promise spring is not too far away.
Though my own life is filled with some dark clouds,
I know tomorrow is another day.

Where the Dillies Wend (Pushkin Sonnet)

In pale sunshine as Winter bids farewell
A pretty face appears to spark a smile
Of golden dreams to cast a lighter spell
And thoughts of spring in languid minds compile.
On peaceful mornings, bird song finds its voice
As snow begins to melt as if by choice
It knows it's time is done as Spring is near
When daffodils in bloom restart the year.
The viridian blades in breezes bend
To dance with gilded maids in vernal days
These images of Spring enchanting eyes to gaze.
And dreams now follow where the dillies wend
Where candles flicker with merriment and mirth
To Mother Nature's triumphant rebirth.
