I reflect on our childhood days,
Not such pure and perfect ways,
Mother nagged us for so long,
Her negative carp was very strong,
When we kids reached our teens,
That's when she got really mean,
Endearing not, was the scene,
Past of our family magazine,
Now we look back and laugh,
Turn the page on mother's chaff!

I drew stick figures
things were simple
in a pencil world
mistakes were erased
you could start over
but an inchmeal awareness nagged
- the sky isn’t gray, it’s a liquid blue
but crayons were complicated
you couldn’t erase things
mistakes were irrevocable.
and there were 148 colors in the big box
keeping them in rainbow order was work.
growing up is hard

They nagged him till he'd had enough.
His one remaining joy was snuff.
Beyond the post that ends his race
he has found a better place.
This is no time to joke or laugh
but to write his epitaph.
Art is long but life is short.
I lack the time to more report.
Short and snappy were his days,
short therefore to him my praise.

Her mind was closed, she quickly bragged.
Opinionated she always nagged.
Misinformed by one channel of un-real-news.
With no social security she now sings the blues.

Oh gosh
In a maze
Mess over here
Mess over there
Everywhere
Like zombie apocalypse
Coming to get me
Gonna plan
My action of attack
With plastic bags and boxes
As their coffins
Ain't compromise
Nope
Ain't shedding a tear
Coz this will set me free
Opening up the horizon
Opportunities
Fresh ideas
Productive lifestyle
Making me
Oh My Gosh
Blaming my lazy behind
Thinking
I will need this and that
Reasoning illogically
Been nagged
Till my ears about to fall off
And my eyes shaking up
Long for days, months and years
Gonna bust
Their territory
Making my headquarters
Armed with discipline
Not making this happen again
Throw stuff
Like Michael Jordan
Banana kick like Cristiano Ronaldo
Swift myself like Usain Bolt
Then finale myself
Holding cape
Clearing the mess
Saying "Ole!"
Bull eye!

For two weeks my wife has nagged
at me to mow the grass.
“Two weeks!” I said, “That can’t be right,”
but time does quickly pass.
So to get back in her good books,
I had to make a solemn vow,
that I will mow the grass tomorrow,
because I’m watching telly now.
She mumbled something ‘neath her breath
like I’ve often heard her do,
and I gather that she called me lazy
between the odd choice word or two.
But a bloke is entitled to unwind
by relaxing with the TV.
I just wish she’d get up off her backside
and start preparing me tea.
To drop a hint I pushed on the remote,
flicked the telly on to S-B-S,
because I know the programs on there
to the wife don’t really impress.
But the program that’s currently aired,
is deemed as a medical show
where the patients are on life support …
kept alive and don’t even know.
I said to me dear darling wife
indicating on to the screen,
“I don’t want to live in a vegetable state,
dependent upon a machine.”
So without one word she stood up.
I thought she was gunna get tea,
but she walked the opposite way,
and unplugged the bloody TV.

“The man at number ten's mowing his lawn!”
“Get off your fat backside and go do ours!”,
she nagged, so off he went, looking forlorn,
she supervised him,in between her glowers.
“The man at number ten's painting his fence!
You said you'd do ours three years back, you know!
A simple job, that needs no common sense,
now get the paint and roller- off you go!”
Each passing day the wife found more to do,
the man at number ten had lit the fire,
the list of jobs for hubby to go through
increased, as did his frustration and ire.
Still, things at home have been better since when
he went and shot the man at number ten.

There was once a thin plumber named Stipe
Whose large wife always nagged with a gripe
She was constantly bummed
For each time that he plumbed
He came up inches short with his pipe
Well, he asked and he asked her to hush
Still, the scolding continued to gush
So he fit his wee shlong
With a pipe, extra-long
And the nagging was gone with a flush!

It’s not corked up in a bottle
You don’t drive it down the road
But wear it on your finger
A beautiful band of gold
It keeps you wide awake at night
And can smell a little bit
But your babys smile
Is worth a million quid
She nagged you clean your teeth
And made you go to school
But wiped away your tears
When you cut your knee
You have to buy them birthday cards
And visit them on Christmas day
But families bring you lots of smiles
Every single day

Jeanette struck gold at the Worlds and Euros,
The non-Paralympic Worlds and Euros, that is,
In the sport of canoeing and she has portfolios,
In the Paralympic world as a swimmer, the biz.
She’s won a total of twelve swimming medals,
At five Paralympics going way back to Seoul,
But took up canoeing recently - one of her pals,
Nagged her into it. And has kids, a partner soul.
At the ICF Worlds in Milan in the class of K1,
Jeanette won the gold medal, and then in 2016,
At the ICF Worlds in Dulsburg, Germany’s lung,
Jeanette won silver in the K1 200m KL1 mean.
She took the gold at Rio, making it thirteen
Paralympic medals in total, and she said:
“I thought I’m never going to like it, [not keen],
but once I did it I absolutely loved it [dead].”

Cometh the Season and Cometh the hour,
From our Walkers Crisps past to our new Thai King Power,
Our fearless blue foxes have lived through the dream,
Rising up to the top like the richest of cream.
It could never happen, it defied all the odds,
After all this is Leicester, not footballing gods?
But week after week our boys held to their nerve,
And they ground out the wins to get what they deserved.
Lucky whilst workmanlike labelled by most,
Powered by Buddhism or King Richard’s ghost,
Though the points all stacked up as the run carried on,
The experts were baffled at the phenomenon.
It confounded the pundits and astounded the fans,
Won with hard-work, commitment and no ‘fancy Dans’.
Ranieri kept joking with the press and nay-sayers,
But called no one an Ostrich, and didn’t choke any players.
And as the season concluded and Bocelli sang,
As the fireworks exploded closing things with a bang,
As the foxes blue army vented pleasure and pain,
In our minds nagged a question, could they do it again…

There are women who feel a strong need
To nag men until their ears bleed
In a war of attrition
With relentless petition
Is a cruel way to make men concede
Men wish for a life of peace
But get nagged by a tongue that won't cease
Men will just say
It's the female DNA
That must out in its need for release
We can’t help it; we just HAVE to nag
Guess some folks would call us 'an old hag'
But men get on our nerves
When you paw at our curves
Men should give up and wave the white flag
We can suffer from bad PMT,
Become ogres that men want to flee
We scream and we shout
Say we’ll throw you out
But for some reason you wont let us be
Better by far, we should try this next time
It's effective and will prove sublime
By wearing earplugs
In each of our lugs
We'll be laughing whilst nagging - in mime
Laughing together will lighten our day
It's a tonic to chase our problems away
For a really big smile
Can last a long while
And we'll both get along better that way
