Made motherless
in your mid teens,
father removed by grief,
brother and sister
crying out, your youth
was taken by need.
Emotions went subterranean,
kept capped too deep in you
to weep to the surface.
You became a mother.
As a child
I never knew your pain,
I was too busy with my own.
You carried those unhealed
scars under a granite veneer.
Tears were meant to be held
back and arms kept busy
baking and servicing
the myriad of chores
a housewife did back then.
They were not meant
for holding me.
We loved from a distance.
Only in the slow dissolution
of your dying did we see each
other as we were.
We talked for hours
until words were done
and there came a silence
where existed only love
between mother and son
MOTHER'S DAY POEM
My Metaphor states: a bouquet of love, a garden of care,
Solemnly surrounds me with women beyond compare.
My wife, a partner, a friend, a mother, and a guide,
Nurtures with love and affectionate heart inside.
Big sisters, supportive, wise, strong and so kind,
Lead by example, with a good heart and sound mind.
Younger sister, sweet and a proud brother's delight,
Brings peace and love, but takes trouble out of sight.
My Mother, a pillar, a rock, earthly angel, a shining star,
A constant presence yet distant, paradoxically she's never far.
Today and every day, I celebrate you,
The women who make my life anew.
Happy Mother's Day to each of you,
May love, joy, and gratitude forever shine through!

You had brought me into this world
when you were only twenty three years old
you must of had the word "mine"
in your thoughts when you named me "Mia"
You had trained me from an infant
on curbing the challenges of life no matter the size
even after I have blossomed into a matured woman
you never stopped training me
I have always been your most safeguarded child
because of my hidden birth defect
unlike my teachers and many others
who had failed me on a daily basis
you could have aborted me, miscarried me
forsaken me in the maternity ward or even born sleeping
but you never gave up on me
you were tenacious enough to overcome it
I knew you have missed out
on receiving legitimate parental support
when you were growing up as a child
but that did not precluded you from becoming a stern
but encouraging mother to my sister and I
The love and affection we may recieve from
our friends, teachers and significant others
would always blow hot and cold thoughout our lives
but your love and care for us would never drop out of sight
"Brother from Another Mother, but the same Father!"
Russell Coleman jokes with me in Church (His Bride)
This weekend, we honor every mother, dear brother:
You once made a boy feel like a man, Fatherhood and pride ...
If he raises his child with you, both bless humanity with families ...
I am old enough to have regret, pride, and prophecies -
But those that stay despite diapers, dirt, bills ... walk the narrow way
That honor the Creator, The Originator
Of family as we knew it ... not always comedy, smiles, clear destiny
Yet family values touch our souls, and overwhelm us (Sister, Brother)
But the peace the world is weeping for, Dear President and CEO,
That shalom that makes us whole, and renews this Earth
Beyond the gold, diamonds, and minerals hidden in the dirt -
Is to honor all women. Some remind me of Ma's death, yet hard to swallow
This poem is for the one,
That gave us a place to stay,
When the times got so hard,
My parents had to move away,
She is the one that,
Show us how much she cares,
Not by buying expensive clothes but,
Making cloths so we'd have some to wear,
She never gave up on us,
Even when times got hard,
And she loves being outside,
To work on her beautiful yard,
She is my step-mom,
But consider her as my real mother,
She always be there for me,
And my sister and brothers,
So this poem is to you,
I hope it makes your day
Mom I love u very much,
My love will never fade away!!
Ava - I spoke to your half sister today.
She says it’s warm in Albuquerque. She tells you hello
and to please wish your mother, her step-mother,
a happy Mother’s Day on her behalf.
She asked me if you still look like her twin.
I said I simply don’t know.
Then she asked if I remembered our trip last year to Galveston
when the two of you, holding hands, danced on the pier.
Of course I do. In fact, I think about it
every single day (the same way I think about you).
I’ll never forget watching my two girls,
each the other’s half sister, who, when finally together,
painted the boardwalk with one complete giggle
that now completely splinters me and your sister, Lily, in two.
Dear Mama, I know now its a bit different Beautiful cards and serenades, for you it was sufficient
I loved seeing your contagious smile
Never imagined your presence was just for a while
Now you're resting and I'm thankful for the early lessons learned
You're my idol, my inspiration and was always my main concern
And your absence aches my chest like a cigarette burn
But you've left me in great hands in return
Dear Papa, thank you & I know you don't hear that often
You were given this rare role without caution
And everything you've taught me can never be forgotten
The person I am is because of you
And you hide what you secretly go through
To give me and my little sister a better view
And that's something I've learned from both of you and look up to
Happy Mothers Day to my both parents
One taking care of me from above
And another guiding me with love.
She's my only trusting alibi,
She's my tissue when I cry..
She's my up when down I go,
She's my high when I'm feeling low...
She's my lender and helps me out,
She's my soft voice when I shout..
She's my unconditional friend ,
She's my fixer and helps me mend..
Shes teacher from her I learn,She's my ice when I burn...
She's someone special guess who she is?
Well she's my one and only sis ***
About God and His Presence
About God's presence
Love it in every essence
Made to make much sense.
Like God no other
So glad He made my Mother
Sister and brother.
James Serious Mysterious Horn
Retired Veteran and Poet
The Mother others wished they had
The sister that everyone would want
The friend everyone deserves
The strength that every little lad and lady needs
The perseverance and the will for us kids to proceed
The smile that warms every heart
The love that never tear apart
The courage, the wisdom “Our Mother Theresa”
Her covenant victory in battle, praise ye Yah!
Imperial, Majestic, Royal, Ancient of time
Yah’s blessings well into her prime…

~Summer’s Eve ~
I am a woman!
I am proud-
I am everything you want.
Plus more
The adoring wife,
A beautiful mother,
A grandmother a granddaughter
A daughter, a sister,
A lover, the aunt.
Your enemy, your friend.
I am a working lady.
A widow left behind.
I AM!
The Spawn of Adam's rib-
I AM!
A mentor throughout this world.
A lady with class, sometimes a material girl.
A flower, and the sound of rain.
I am the color of the rainbow.
I am deeper than the sea.
I am the pink ribbon you wear.
I am delicate like snow.
I AM!
The sun and the moon in your eyes.
A twister during dark skies.
I AM!
The Daughter of Eve-
And, here is the only feeling I want to endorse.
Summer's Eve.

Happy Mother’s day!

The day befrore Mother's Day in 1983
My daddy my mama my sister and me
Were on our way into town to buy a gift for mom
Little did we know this day the Lord for us would come
One minute I was in the car as happy as could be
Then I woke up soon after that with Jesus holding me
My mama was the only one the Lord allowed to live
He didn't take her home because she had so much to give
It was a senseless accident we didn't have to die
The family we left behind just wanted to know why
But as the Lord says in His word His will must be done
He also promises us one day we all will live as one
I can't begin to tell you what it's like up here
Since we came we have not seen one person shed a tear
The Lord has given each of us a special job to do
Daddy, me and Kristen are watching over you
This message comes straight from my heart
Please don't drink and drive
If that man had used good judgement we would be alive
But please be comforted by this
We are all ok and we're waiting here to welcome you
On that great reunion day
