Premium Member DIOS MIO--SAY WHAT?

Gus the parrot blasted into the treetops
like a feathered firecracker
with zero impulse control,
one eyebrow-feather lifted
with a you-have-got-to-be-kidding attitude.

He clicked his beak in judgment,
ruffled plumage with a flair,
then leaned in like a critic
who’s unimpressed with the air.

A twig snapped.
“!Dios mio… SAY WHAT?!”

A cloud moved.
“!Dios mio… SAY WHAT?!”

His eyes bulged, his crest shot up,
his whole body vibrating
like a tiny, outraged disco ball.

No one knew what he was reacting to.
Possibly nothing.
Possibly everything.

But there he was~
a neon blur of disbelief
shouting “!Dios mio… SAY WHAT?!”
at the entire universe.

'O sole mio the cake

5 large egg whites
250g caster sugar
380ml double cream
5 tbsp lemon curd
300g blackberries
2 tbsp pistachios, toasted & roughly chopped
InstructionsPreheat the oven to 180 C/160 C fan. Line two large baking trays with baking parchment.
In a large bowl, whisk the egg whites until soft peaks form. Adding the sugar 1 tbsp at a time, continuing to whisk until you have a stiff, glossy meringue.
Divide into three, placing two big dollops nto one baking sheet and one on the other. Spread out until you have three circles approx 20cm in diameter.
Place the trays in the oven and immediately reduce the heat to 140 C/120 C fan. Bake for one hour then turn off the oven and leave the meringues inside to cool completely.
When ready to serve, whip the cream until soft peaks form and fold in the lemon curd. Remove the meringues from the baking parchment and layer with whipped cream, blackberries and a sprinkle of pistachios. Serve in thick slices.
This meringue cake is best eaten on the day of making, but leftovers will keep in an airtight container in the fridge for a day or two.Fagotto Amaretto chocalae and piscatoes

o sole mio

o sole mio
I am the bird
That was made by my father
With his hands
Now during the morning
I am flying in the sky
Above the mountain
And the ocean
Lots of people are taking photos of me
So they can have as a souvenir

Rispetto Amor Mio

Amor Mio respect the ethos of my heart
honor the flowers that I grow in full bloom
Like violets from Napoleon Bonaparte
I'm your Josephine, go tender to exhume

Amor Mio taste and be heart of my heart
let the dew drops fall afresh on April blooms
See the purple petals turn to deep-dish swart
violaceous hues of me you just can't thwart!

O Sole mio

O sole Mio

breaking darkness like glass
a splintered past like bottle shards in shore sands
you collage art
deep stiched pain you've woven
to technicolor cloaks

When im outcast you reel me in
now the world on my shoulder feels like seraphim wings
now the tormenting torrents a sigh of relief

My sunshine

You've untangled.
my loops of distress into straight lines
I was bent crooked in shame.
now I look up and laugh at a blue sky.

My sunshine

My breath of fresh air
when I felt like leprosy you held me without a care

Amore Mio

Amore mio
All I need is your love
Cos I got your interest at heart oh boy
My love let me love you
Let me be the joy of your soul
There is nothing more better than loving you
Amore mio amore mio
All I need is your love
Cos you are the joy of my heart oh boy
You give me the satisfaction I need
So Take me away oh boy
Am all yours amore mio
Yes am all yours amore mio
All I need is your love
Cos I got your interest at heart oh boy
Amore mio amore mio

Amore mio
Hug me so tight and kiss my lips so hard
Squeeze my heart and make me cry for love
You are the joy I moan for
You are the hands I dream to touch me
Oh boy give me more of your love
Amore mio amore mio
Take my pains away oh boy
Give me your love like there is no tomorrow
Make me scream in love all night long
Carry me and be my companion
All I need is your love
Cos I got your interest at heart oh boy
Amore mio amore mio

Padre Mio

"Padre Mio"
                                       by Giuseppi Martino Buonaiuto

My father: all he wanted was a little,
Just a little, peace & quiet.
The War, that so-called "Good War,"
Had given him neither. And afterwards,
The peace & quiet he sought
Was mainly for his turbulent, disquiet mind.
No longer blowing up bridges, or killing Nazis,
He spent his post-war years in the building trades,
Employed by The Brothers Levitt—
Shrewd, Semitic Kings of Suburbia--
Leading the single-family housing boom.
He earned our daily bread
Hammering nails & sawing two-by-fours,
The Construction Site: far from quiet dawn to dusk,
Creating daily new acoustic trauma,
Canceling out all hope of either peace or quiet.
Given the cutthroat competition for jobs,
He learned a new kind of stress, as more &
More vets--soldiers & survivors like him--
Coming home, anxious to get on with the
Business of life, scrambled for paychecks.
He also learned sarcasm, his cynicism
Masking a failure to cope with Cold War hysteria.
And then out of nowhere came labor saving,
Electric tools, like the Skill saw, LORD OF CACOPHONY.
Decibels: whining, screeching & shrill.
No Quiet. No Peace.

Del Mio Amore

lacrime sono gettati
nel vicolo buio
cestino de pane
spalmato
con sangue u mano
deserto di spine
schizzato durante
l'ultima guerra
cielo notturno
sulla sua veglia
piove flori rossi
il mio cuore
si mescola terreno
marrone con la pozza
fango nascente nasce
le vostra terre
umida de valore
inestimabile
umida con il fruto
della passione
aspettare in eterno
per la corse
del mio amre

Premium Member Amore Mio

I am sitting in my Dorchester lair,
And behind the door I do feel your mien,
When my poetic muse is in the air,
You look real as life to me, “Amore Mio”.

When I am surfing on the internet,
You are there in my click I envisage,
I initiate to scribe a sonnet,
And lo! I see you embossed on the page.

Sighing, wry face, the lips as a dried leaf,
Your greenish deep eyes upraised fully,
Neither death kills me, nor does lonely life,
But your silence eats my soul and body.

Numb as a disease, I die of a thought,
My love, don’t you sense the same as I aught?

Cosi Profona Mente Mio (So Deeply Mine)

Our souls meet, craving answers that the night
sometimes withholds as

vulnerability speaks hurriedly, in foreign tongues
that assume you are the centre of my thoughts.

If I tell you the truth, will you still love me?

Honor me?
    Trust me?
         Treasure me?
               Be true to me?

Will I be your perfect fantasy, imperfectly...
for only then, will you become the

                                                Cenro dei pensieri miei.

Note: centre of my thoughts.
