What you turned me into

You didn’t hurt me loudly.
You trained me quietly.

You taught me that care meant sacrifice,
that loyalty meant shrinking,
that healing myself
was selfish if you felt lonely.

So I bent.
I paused my life for yours.
I learned how to disappear politely.

And I thought that was friendship.

Until someone else finally said
what my bones already knew:
love isn’t supposed to feel
like a cage with a smile on it.

When I told you,
you didn’t listen —
you panicked.
You wrapped fear around your words
and made me responsible for holding you together.

That’s when something in me snapped.

Because care is not control.
And pain is not a weapon.

The next day you laughed,
like nothing cracked.
Like you hadn’t shaken my world
and called it concern.

So I chose distance.
Not cruelty —
distance.

And you called it betrayal.

Now my name moves without me.
You carve it into stories I never lived.
You take my silence
and sell it as guilt.
You take my honesty
and bend it into threat.

You poison rooms I’m not even in.

And the worst part isn’t losing you.
It’s watching someone I love
start to search my face
for damage that isn’t there.

It’s being untrusted
because someone else is afraid
to be seen clearly.

You say I replaced you.
But really —
I just stopped vanishing for you.

I am angry.
Not loud.
Not cruel.
Just tired of bleeding quietly
for people who call it loyalty.

I didn’t leave to hurt anyone.
I left because staying
was teaching me
how to disappear.

And I refuse
to become a ghost
just to keep someone else comfortable.

My Siblings' Father

MY SIBLINGS' FATHER
         JUDGE BURDON

other children feared monsters under their bed
i feared the one living under our roof.
his hair was nimbus black
with a storm's thunder in his voice.
his fists were freight train brown
ball bearing knuckles
frostbite blue was his touch
with empty icebox eyes
his smile untrusted
growling words spoken like tangled spaghetti
he was my mother's husband
my siblings' father

a childhood of baseballs never thrown
bruises and shattered bones medicated with lies
happiness diluted with tears
in a house with screams undetected
when asked what i wanted to be
i testified "far from here"

now, fiber optic home front news
faceless words
cancer eating away at your life
with the fury of a piranha
your disease now my champion
fighting with the courage i was unable to muster
your epitaph written in my adolescence
while plotting your midnight homicide

again you leave
unaccountable for your actions
i'm left to wrestle with the demons
not the strenght to forgive
my memory too scarred to forget
i'll keep the battle lines drawn
your monument
let the puzzle piece fall where it may
good bye old man
you'll be missed like a pit vipers bite
your pain can no longer touch me
from the grave.

I was raised, like many others, on the wrong side of the tracks.
Parents poor, thru generations, hopelessly, broke their backs.
The holes in our walls, patched, with mud and road kill skins.
Our roof made up from cardboard boxes and corrugated tins.

We ate old, ice cold, cockroach stew, tho pigged out on toad.
The rusty bucket, we used out back, lovingly called commode.
As a young lad, I went bad, ran with wild gangs in the streets.
But soon, found myself running, with drunks, liars, and cheats.

In time, untrusted, got busted, cuz I was the one who went in.
The Judge, graveled, quickly gaveled, got five years in the pen.
In one cage, pent up rage, every day had to fight for my life.
Dreading showers, rival powers, and a toothbrush for a knife.

Made up my mind, when I got out, to fly straight as an arrow.
Like a fool, was hard to get by, on just the straight and narrow.
My life's been no picnic, it's true, but I won't sing a sad song.
Now busted again, back in the pen, I'm sure I probably belong.

Premium Member Unborn Again

Sensibilities shaped and slapped and stolen. (aha)
I am indeed a borrowed man.
For where amongst my stirrings stand
priori grand?

Mission thwarted by a bell.
Noble tell.
Some soul such as mine
even, ever thus, declined.

Brokered deal appealed
in youthful fancy;
clung as clung today.
A skyward, inward, aching chance.

Once rejoiced.
A face more mine than my own.
All skin each day
the morning shone.

Bark un-burled.
Shadow long uncurled to rust.
Untrusted flag re-furled;
Scattered in what mattered, dust.

Awoke to see the joke.
First impression lasting,
reality unmasking,
I am Thee.

A fraud become.
Mashed potato brained
and stew of everyman.

Another pauper’s heart proffered
for a token:
Stolen, broken, borrowed,
a cobbled, curse of words.

No glory left ingrained
this shallow story
unrefined and rained
upon us all.

Long verse of silence,
then still.
Until more silence comes
from up the hill.

mon u mental moment,
overturned by seed or ant.
can to can’t.

broken dancer’s leg,
blinded painter,
broken banker.

suicide with empty gun.
far worse than hollow
lifetime borrowed,

and chattering to gatherings as though tomorrows come with new surprises

there is only one
surprise.

and here it is.

Two Face

Met with two eyes,
Face to face — we shared a combination,
A fusion of thoughts, thinking as if almost alike,
 Until they entwined.
 We felt so connected,
Same problems, same likes and dislikes —
As if we made each other alive.

Eating up our thoughts,
Dreaming for more — wondering, what if it was real?
Heart to heart, wandering thoughts, they said.
Mind to mind, scrambling through places love defined.
 We tempted each other,
Greedy for one another — and wait…
 Is this for real?
Or are we just living in a dream?

A dream of wonderland,
 Just you and me.
Hold my hand, and I hold yours,
Opening up — enjoying our desires.
 Do they notice?
Do you mind as I satisfy your pleasure?
 Do you trust me?
 I’m trustworthy, your realist friend.
I’ll be by your side forever,
 Promise...

But — he fingers crossed, hidden, dark, unnoticed.
 We laughed,
 We cried,
 We loved.
 Until he left for another,
 Wanting more, greedy for new,
 Still chasing pleasure.

Then —
 … she feels isolated, unwanted,
 Stupid, too stupid and selfish,
 Left with a broken heart.
Her dreams, her soul, shattered in pieces.
 Dream girl…

Again and again, she doesn’t want anyone anymore.
that ! No one’s real in this world.
 Fake, fake, fake!
Only One is true — God.

And again, she remembers God
 In the moments of suffering:
“Where were You when I needed You?”
But God in silence, ‘When will you ever listen child?’

She silences her thoughts —
 “I wish I would’ve…”
 But it’s too late.
Falling piece by piece, fading away,
 Life gone for no reason.

All because of one too-dreamy girl,
Just dreaming in a dream world —
He started the betrayal, and where is she?
Two Faces caught. The illusion of Us.

Premium Member Love's Yearning

Hearts like ours will cross our silent yearning
and dance with lonely wishes and dreams
to find the longing realm of love

Like vagabonds, we will dance on empty streets
of false contentment and illusion...until
Love finds us worthy to nourish our souls
and welcome us

Guiding us into a luminous fervor
of rapidly pounding heartbeats
breaking free from bonds of tethered despair
as we cradle in our palms the burning hope of yearning
   at long last found,
throbbing from each kiss melted by hunger and set loose
from the deepest cavern of starved emotion
   kept for so long
hidden away from the untrusted words of false sweetness
where we guarded our heart's precious passions
that would have brought madness to our souls
if stolen or casually thrown away

Love found us worthy in its own time
and allowed us to share the beauty of our hearts
to become one heartbeat and yearn no more

Premium Member Young Lovers Have No Ears

What senseless things we oft times say, when love has softened and caressed the way

Wise words sound as folly and falderal ,Gibberish N' hoopla, untrusted words spoken by trusted souls.

Not father nor brother not friend neither foe,can tell new lovers what the heart bestow.

Brains doth scatter when love is claimed, hot blood pumping throughout the veins.

Must young loves passion, peek then fall,or back them up against the wall?

Before they can clearly see, loves request not meant to be.?

When tried and proven, through test of time when all is said and all is done.

When beauties gone and nothings left, But patience love and diligence.

It is then and only then, that You can know when love has won.

So yes young lovers ears are deaf, the drum that beats within their chest

will in the end be judge to test. What is good and what is best, for now just

let it be-rest.

Soothsayer or see-ers can never tell; The fate of young lovers, when love goes stale.

Indifference now will destroy the marrow. If love ever turns to sorrow, Never again can theirs be bliss,

As long as the smallest spark still lit.Love won't give up and love won't quit.

Weariness

Dedicated to a disorder I call as my own: It's called the OopsieDoosie haha (:

Guiltiness leaves me numb and dumb
Addictions fade and addictions cumb
I just don’t know why I’m so brainwashed
By the technology of 2016…my voice is hushed…
In poetic language because the world doesn’t read enough
Things are getting quite rough and I’m trying to be tough
I gave in to my lusts…
It’s like untrusted trusts

Weariness leaves me with dread
I’ve been going insane inside my head
Weariness leaves me with dread
I’ve been going insane inside my head
Dreariness leaves me instead…
Weariness leaves me with dread
I’ve been going insane inside my head
Weariness leaves me with dread
I’ve been going insane inside my head

Drowzy and lazy
I am busy and crazy
I can’t afford
Being bored
Holding the laptop in my lap
Until I found out…sick crap
And I will change the subject
I am a wandering insect

Weariness leaves me with dread
I’ve been going insane inside my head
Weariness leaves me with dread
I’ve been going insane inside my head
Dreariness leaves me instead…
Weariness leaves me with dread
I’ve been going insane inside my head
Weariness leaves me with dread
I’ve been going insane inside my head

Sex is a drug in my mind’s eye
I wave bye-bye to that shy guy
I was long ago…
Well, the wicked wind still blows…
Yeah, I know…
Well, the blessed breeze glows…shows…
Cuz I rept what I sow…
No one cares though
They don’t mind seeing me in pain
In this healing rain, d-d-driving me insane

Weariness leaves me with dread
I’ve been going insane inside my head
Weariness leaves me with dread
I’ve been going insane inside my head
Dreariness leaves me instead…
Weariness leaves me with dread
I’ve been going insane inside my head
Weariness leaves me with dread
I’ve been going insane inside my head

Emptiness inside of my head
No thots…just colors instead
And I am indecisive Gemini…
I can’t deny or simply lie…
I daydream all day
And I sleep at night…
Only sometimes in a way
I seek His light flight (His easy-going spirit to glide like an airplane in the sky)
Sometimes, I cry myself to sleep
Becuz of my lack of sleep, I weep…
These scars are so deep – I am a creep
But, a happy-go-lucky geek…
And soon to be on fleek…
