Tired platitudes for the pain to drown,
The bridled tongue will keep the fire bound.
A dose of bromide helps the words go down.
Exalting paupers with a golden crown.
Creating hero’s with exalted sound.
Tired platitudes for the pain to drown.
If our words of truth would be met with frown,
Would we eulogize and then chest proud pound?
“A dose of bromide helps the words go down.”
Embellished sackcloth still an ugly gown.
Vapid faces prefer the truth go round.
Tired platitudes for the pain to drown.
If only flattery we dare be shown,
Could weakling hearts bear the weight of truth found?
A dose of bromide helps the words go down.
When counsel concealed from one who is lown,
For what good cause could such ones be renowned?
Tired platitudes for the pain to drown?
A dose of bromide helps the words go down?
For nearly three decades
She had been ruthlessly explored
Losing her identity, her independence
Her man always looking at her
Through his own selfish lens
She awaited discovery
Finding the ‘Real Me’
His liaisons
And ways of fun
Further freezing the cold relationship
Now for him
An unlucky turn of events
Meant
Some flattery, some importance given to her
So, the other day he said,
‘Let’s go on a discovery trail.’
She, as per her habit, remained silent
Knowing perfectly well
The endeavour would fail
And so they went
Hundreds of kilometres away
He searching for
That missing connect
Forgetting that in any pact
Both parties are equal partners
Unlike what happens here
His words always dominating hers
Now they’ve come back
Without any success
Their relationship in the same mess
But she happy at being again closer to home
At home, at ease
Her nearly three years of self-discovery
Result of
A lucky turn of events
Giving her oodles of confidence
An obvious comparison
Between two men
She has finally found
Her source of joy
Oh Boy!
She has eventually discovered
As the world rightly notices
From her boundless glee-
The ‘Real Me’
Walking streets together
Sitting side by side
Standing right behind you
Butterflies inside
I watch you for long moments
Until you look at me
And then I shift my eyes down
Not wanting you to see
That I am staring at your face
Watching as you talk
Catching that great smile
Observing where you walk
Always looking for you
You're too far away
Longing to be with you
Each and every day
I want to tell you something
Every single night
Before you go to sleep
Don't turn off your light
Until I've told you all my mind
And what I'm thinking of
Flattery? Constantly!
But also words of love
Color me with the pixel art from the sea; color me with shades of love and blessings flowing from above. The morning passes swiftly with elation and flattery wrapped up in deception of time and bound up in history of his mind.
Time has awakened his consciousness and destiny has brought them to the pinnacle of hope and determination is knocking on the door. The bus has come and gone and I am still waiting in the yard and there is no one to explain what is going on.
I have tried hard and long to compose a musical song, to sing with the birds in the morning and to hum on the train in the evening, and when my heart is full and courage walks up the hill, I will find a different path to move away from the dark but I just cannot come out and this place, this intense feeling makes my spirit blaze.
Everyone has a different version of the song and it is hard to sing along, but the deity of the soul will put it together when we meet in the camp. Everyone will practice a verse and merge their voices to the tune of the earth.
I am looking beyond the hill and I hope that you can make my spirit still; no tears are flowing but I am crying inside, no music is playing but my feet are dancing. There is no one to walk by my side but the universe is my bride.
I look towards the benevolent sky to support my slender frame, but the thunderous weight kept squeezing me into this sobering corner. Here I am in this secluded space working night and day as the stagnant air continues to blow germs into my face and my temperature continues to rise.
I tried desperately to get out of this place but my heart continues to nurse an old wound that keeps me fastened to the ground and I can’t seems to get around; the evening has come and gone and I am left stranded on the lawn.
I have been standing here all morning trying to communicate something but the emptiness of the time keeps going around in circles, taking me back from where I start and I tried desperately to break out, come and sit with me let me tell you how I feel.
You have never asked and you will probably be shocked when you learn that my emotion is real.

Parody speaks its flattery
Curiousity reeks of jealousy
Did you notice
That our flirtatious hellos
Fell upon the sun’s prying ears?
How she shoved
The storm clouds aside
For a better view?
The gelid March rain
On the asphalt
Was the perfect stage
To swallow your colors-
A kaleidoscope
Of moss, earth and gold
Spilling
Into my lungs
From the whirlpool of your eyes
A down pour
Worth
Drowning for
Until it wasn’t
Truculent waves
In your mood
Sent me looking for shelter
Wholesome flattery
Crashed into me
But the taste was awful
Immediate
Rejection
From my insides
I couldn’t meet your gaze
Until the nausea
Cleared my head
I’d be lying if I said
I remembered
The color of your eyes
Floating scents
of blossoms
Walking in the ashes
Of Derek's heaven
Inbound upon vision
Falling crystal teardrops
Summer dew
On the ground
Beautiful gardens surround
Explosive in nature's beauty
Blossoms of all shades
Bouquet the very earth
In the sweet
beautiful aroma
In the scent
a beautiful fragrance
Entering the house
Blue awakens senses
Opening vision
Falling to it flattery
Famous artists everywhere
In its twentieth
century grandeur
A harvest
of art
Entering a peacock
held on my vision
My mark on time
I saw a Picasso
Holding the kitchen
In a brightened air
Renoir held the upstairs
In a setting
burning warm
A pretty maiden
In pose
Speaking volumes
inside of me
Snake skin slipperS
Upon the beds ground
In the wardrobe
a rustic jacket
Christian Dior
Upon the bed
Lay sweetheart pillows
A lady's promise
On her fisherman's
Safe return
Each window
A different picture
Picturesque beautiful
Different views
Of the grounds
Walking towards the lake
Birds singing
In its gentle breeze
Nature whispers
Rustling
in the trees
Leaves one's soul
Whistling in the leaves
In a silent stare
Across the water
Inbound sound
A fish plops
Spiraling ripples
on the surface
Breaking reflections
A gentle breeze
Caresses the brow
Aroma flares
Within the nostrils
Trees standing
Their ground
Centuries looking over
Heavenly
standing tall
Amongst the blossoms
The sun
Will forever smile
In moonlight
Silver shadows
casting the soul
In all its beauty
In the colours
of a butterfly
Kissing heaven
Upon its air
Blowing
a butterfly kiss
Fluttering beautiful
Floating on
Glebe's breeze
Falling around
Glebe house
Names, gestures, and words so oft are empty
In actions, we find a true meaning worthy to knife
To grow is to walk a serene valley you fill of plenty
Of hollow praise and false flattery, be weary
We shed the skins of our former, unripe life
Names, gestures, and words so oft are empty
Our wills are rivers, carving through stony indifference
Acts of love and words of kindness cut through strife
To grow is walking a serene valley you fill of plenty
Seeking truth in every course, holding every moment near
Learning to read the signs that speak beyond lies, run rife
Names, gestures, and words so oft are empty
Now, in this quest for meaning, stripped of all pretense,
So give thanks; awakened to join the dance found underlife
To grow is to walk a serene valley you fill of plenty
Become the silence of your actions, pure and steady,
Find yourselves, your souls, burning fate's own woodknife
Names, gestures, and words so oft are empty,
To grow is to walk a serene valley you fill of plenty
"You are the apple of my eye."
Such was my favorite among your love-lines
reverberating sincere romance-bloom
amidst tenderness' bliss
since you did well to lavish me with your care...
"You are my everything."
Such was never a flattery to me
imagining my precious value
against your other darling possessions
as you just had me as your partner since we were still young...
"My world revolves around you."
Such gave me cringe the moment I heard it
yet you had that proven along your presence
which made me comforted and at peace
every time you held me close...
Grateful am I to God* that you made me feel so loved
Until now, your love-filled messages
keep on echoing the passion of your heart
resurrecting memories of our wondrous togetherness---
---especially that I memorized your metaphors.

Poem of the Day, May 29, 2026
True love feels like a burning flame of fire,
fueled by everlasting bonds of trust.
And not the warm embers of a liar;
distorting truths in the pursuit of lust.
You feel the tears building behind your eyes,
while your hopes sink, scuttled by betrayal.
And realizing what each drop implies,
dreams collapse, while anxieties prevail.
An unbearable pain pierces your heart
when truth dispels the illusion of lies.
And while doubt and mistrust tear it apart,
depression devastates trust as it dies.
The empty promises your heart endured
were a mix of flattery and pretense.
And juvenile dreams that never matured;
spurred a catastrophic set of events.
Like a river, destiny sets love's course,
yet you get to choose who'll be by your side.
And if fate veers and heads toward remorse;
change direction: to stop the hurt inside.
