Nobody Likes a Know It All Part 2 of 4

Nobody Likes A Know-It-All

(Or ... I Know What I Know)

(Prov. 1: 29* / Prov. 1: 22-33 / John 15: 19 / Matt. 7: 3-6 / Prov. 3: 7 / Prov. 9: 7, 8)

Nobody Likes A Know-It-All
They Either Get On Your Nerves
Or Make You Climb Up The Wall

They Come On Like Squalls
Their Opinions Sprawled
We Shake 'Em Off Like Tattered Shawls
... Nobody Likes A Know-It-All

So, If I Happen ... Across Your River To Row
I Don't Mean To Come Sounding Like An Old Crow
Or Waste Your Time If You Say No ...
But Listen ... I Know What I Know ...

I've Read & Studied & Meditated
Perused & Pondered & Got Educated
In Reason & Rhyme - I've Ruminated
My Thoughts Into Rooms Are Relegated
Raised Questions & Quizzed & Investigated
(Even Made Some Folks Uneasy & Agitated)
but GOD Said That 'That' Knowledge Would Be Hated
(John 7: 7 / John 17: 14 / John 15: 17-20)

So With All Due Respect -- So and So ...
... I Know What I Know

... of Innocence & Intelligence
Ratified Ideas & Reference
Cataloged Diligence & Resilience
Always Bravo'd The Beauty of High Brilliance
In Conventions' & Congregations' Confidence

& Assemblies & Achievements' Evidence
In Citadels of Archives' Residence
In Colleges & Scholars' Licensed Competence
In Trust's of A Counselor's Expert Guidance

and In The Word of GOD's Reverence
With Lessons' Continuance' Vigilance
In Meaning of Life & Purpose & Spirit's Significance
and Carpe' Diem When Possible and Patience ...

So, That Even In Philosophy's Status-Quo ...
... I Know What I Know

... From Countless Hours - In Half A Century of Years
In Conversations From A Constellation of Peers
About Life & Death & Future & Fears
About Love & Passion & Lust & Leers
About Laughter & Joy & Pain & Tears ...

About Mercy & Justice & Truth So Clear
About Fame & Fortune & What's More Dear
About War & Peace As World Totters & Veers
About Freedom As Kingdom of GOD Draws Near
About Why We Cheer & While Others Jeer...

When Life Spits You Out a Big Surprise

As we all go through life we want to believe
That we are all so wise
Until life spits you out a big surprise
As everything changes right before your eyes
When life slows down and we drift inside
We find ourselves fixed to a great slide
Just hoping to get to the other side

Oh God
Where are you taking me on this ride
Before I knew it we were in a full glide
I realize this is no ordinary ride
For on the way I could see clear as day
If I don't pay attention then this ride will sway
And I will never make it back to that day
When my life caught me by surprise
In such a big way

It took me to a place I am not ready to stay
This journey I must say helps me understand God has a plan
It's in his presence that we reach
For some kind of reference
Life is very short so you better be a good sport
Only God knows how wide the slide may be
I'm just glad that he wasn't ready for me

I learned so much as it all went by
I knew I was in the right place
Though I was very high
As I opened my eyes I thought everything
Was in disguise
For I knew that nobody was going to believe
What lays way up beyond the skies
What a wonderful surprise to find out
God loves me enough to send me back
To you guys

My life was altered in so many ways
I was gone for forty-five days
And some of it is still in a haze
My life will never be the same
Only the good Lord knows
How close I came that day

But one thing is for sure
I would never feel any shame
Or forget his mighty name
This is how I became a Soldier in Christ
To help him reclaim
What Satan has taken away
So we must all fight for what is right
We must banish Satan way out of sight
The bible is God's promise to all that believe
It's our faith that sets us free

I will stand against evil to help God to victory
For God had picked me
To see what most of us never get to see
Until we transition this position
And we leave these bodies
You can imagine that look on my face
When I actually made it back to that day
I am a witness to all of his glory
I will spend the rest of my life
Sharing his story

You will not hear any fear
When I know my time is near
He revealed it all to me
It has set me free to go be with thee
Without any mystery in what
God Promised you and me

The Return (A Must Read)

The trumpet of the Almighty God will blow. Then the whole world will instantaneously
know. That Jesus Christ has returned for his sheep. You may miss this train if your faith has
been asleep. Millions of your loved ones will disappear in the twinkling of an eye. Christians
will be lifted up to meet Christ in the sky. Those left behind have chosen their own path.
When people tried to tell them about Jesus they just walked away and laughed. It will be too
late to repent. Not ever hearing about Jesus can't be your argument. For everyone in the
world would have had their chance; To know about Jesus the Savior in advance.
Unbelievers need to be concerned. Jesus Christ is going to return!
Eventually we will watch the rise of the Man of Sin; He will be the devil incarnate,
wearing a seductive grin. Millions will believe and be deceived that this man is the predicted
Messiah. The Bible warns us in several prophetical books, From Ezekiel to Zechariah. THis
false Christ will have powers unlike this world has ever seen. He will wear a mask of peace
and claim he is the coming Nazarene. People of this world will believe this lie and will
spiritually die! Simply put the world will follow this man blind. This false Christ will do
whatever necessary to get into your heart and mind. This man will rule the One World
Government and claim to end all bloodshed. His actions will be so convincing, he'll even
raise the dead! But this is the anti-Christ, he is not the One. He is not God's Son! Here's
something for the ignorant to learn. Jesus Christ the real Son of God will return!
This One World Government is taking place. Get that Bible down from your bookcase,
and you will see. That everything is happening right now according to prophesy! Beware as
we watch nations turn on Israil. More than half the world will attend it's own spiritual
funeral! Cataclysmic events will unfold. World catastrophe that has been preached since the
days of old The American dollar has lost it's value. A One World currency will be issued to
me and you Millions are currently spiritually deceased. Even thousands of priests. We are
no longer the super power of the East. So prepare to receive or reject the "mark of the
beast." The evil of this world will burn. Jesus Christ the Savior will return!!!!!

Appear

You came to me many times in my dreams.

At first I was scared bt not anymore.

You came in the form of a shadow.

I closed my eyes and turned away in fear but now I see your face has appear.

The pastor feared for many years once upon learning who I am.

A gift to the world sits in the palm of my hands.

For good or for evil, its up to me to decide.

You came to me many times in my dreams.

At first I was scared but not anymore.

You came in the form of a shadow.

I closed my eyes and turned away in fear but now I see your face has appear.

Before the death of my sister, you told me I would have to choose.

I chose my familia then my heart forever became brused.

You went away from my dreams then only came back once my heart became cold.

You reached out your hand yet I only turned it away.

Fighting wars in my dreams of unknown beings.

Voices in my head and visions of unusual seeings.

Picked up the Bible yet only learning of its hidings.

Secerts of a World thats so blind to many.

When someone speaks no one listens.

When the voice up lifts then everyone begins to focus.

Against a belief thats much stronger then our own can leave a person breathless.

I lay down a pad then pick up a pen but my hands refuse to let me write.

Stand in front of a croud to speak of our World but my voice is silence.

You came to me many times in my dreams.

At first I was scared but not anymore.

You came in the form of a shadow.

I closed my eyes and turned away in fear but now I see your face has appear.

You told me respect will be high because of the gift I offer.

You told me I wouldn't have to struggle anymore all I have to do is take your hand.

Walk with you like how I once did with Jesus.

Talk with you like I prayed to God.

Not to bow to your feet but lift out my hand for you to kiss as we bow to each other.

Sit on the right hand side of the thrown.

To have power greater then the World can image.

A new lyfe where you wouldn't have to hope and dream.

You promised me my revenge on the cruel will come.

You promised my my oppinons will be a factor.

No more crying at night because of hunger pains.

Or familia betrayal.

You came to me many times in my dreams.

At first I was scared but not anymore.

I closed my eyes and turned away in fear but now I see your face has appear

Premium Member They Were Not Grown

*And they came to Elim
where there were twelve springs
and seventy palm trees
and they camped there near the water.*

After the red sea, after the red sea…
departing from its great depths,
leaving the death of Pharaoh’s men,
well-oiled chariots underneath…
they're all wet. they’re all wet.

Great sound of Israelites.
Commotion of the sights.
Nostrils of the Creator King;
imagination remains.

The kids in awe,
“Did you see that!? I can’t believe
that happened!” their wrist revolutions
left and right, relive the might.
Their kissers - uttersome wind.

Parents hush them. A bit frightened.
Who is this God…they thought they knew.
This really is the God of their ancestors,
of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Still…

They arrived at a place of discomfort.
Thirst suffers…tongue and roof parched.
three days in the desert,
they have not found water…constantly
tested - will they believe…will they believe?

But they, not unlike us, love to complain.
When comfort is outside their brain…
they become most forgetful…they rely
upon their senses — we do too!!!

In Shur, grumbling, rumbling of cries,
“What are we to drink?”
Like little children, they didn’t know.
Like little children, they were not grown.

The water they did find, was bitter -
so were they…they missed the whips
of Egypt- at least they’d get their share
of bread and water. God in His mercy
exchanged bitter for sweet, and his sheep

drank until they hurt no more. There God
tested them with these words:

*“If you listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God
and do what is right in his eyes,
if you pay attention to his commands
and keep all his decrees,
I will not bring on you
any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians,
for I am the Lord, who heals you.

And they came to Elim
where there were twelve springs
and seventy palm trees
and they camped there near the water.*

Elim is pronounced ay-leem

From Matthew Poole’s commentary:

Palm trees were both pleasant for their shade, and refreshing for their sweet fruit. Thus the Israelites are obliged and encouraged to the obedience commanded, by being put into better circumstances than they were under in their last station.

Premium Member Lord God, You Are My Father Almighty

June 3 Relationship to God Bible Meditations Based on Psalms 68-70

Key Verse – Psalm 68:5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY FATHER ALMIGHTY

Lord God, You are my Father Almighty,
surely arising to carry me to Your presence
Thank You for Your salvation that makes me rejoice with gladness’ essence…
Seeking Your will, I dwell in Your holy habitation’s iridescence
Set me always in Your goodness to overcome solitary gloom-license.

Lord God, You are my Father Almighty,
securely establishing me by Your perfection
Thank You for Your stability that guards me from foolish instruction…
Standing upon Your grace, I praise You for Your benefits’ provision
Seal me always with Your mercies, beyond depths of my transgression.

Lord God, You are my Father Almighty,
steadfastly leading me to Your sanctuary
Thank You for Your sacrifice that causes me to follow You toward victory…
Submitting to Your wisdom, I come to Your enclosing hands of glory
Strengthen me always by Your power midst my worry because of sin-misery.

Lord God, You are my Father Almighty,
sweetly comforting me in my weariness
Thank You for Your satisfaction that confounds me of my haughtiness…
Stepping in Your light, I abide in Your righteous zealousness
Sanctify me always along Your cleansing pardon toward my holiness.

Lord God, You are my Father Almighty,
sincerely hearing me and my prayer’s plight
Thank You for Your shield that encloses me within Your deliverance-delight…
Singing for Your honour, I exalt You for Your help in my distress-blight
Stir me always midst Your gentleness as from sorrow, I take my flight.

Lord God, You are my Father Almighty,
straightly humbling me of my arrogance
Thank You for Your specialty in miracles gripping me with divine elegance…
Shining with Your radiance, I claim Your granted eternal inheritance
Sustain me always with Your supplies along stewardship-assurance.

Lord God, You are my Father Almighty,
speedily rescuing me in Your timely haste
Thank You for Your servanthood example that prods me for works so chaste…
Staying in Your plan, I overcome worldliness’ tempting vanity waste
Support me always in my quest to savor Your of heavenly taste.

Death Is Nothing: the True Story of Nat Turner - Part 1

The original version of this piece is too long for me
to post in its entirety, so it had to be sectioned off. Of
all that I've written, I am most proud of this work due
to its historical accuracy. I hope you enjoy it as well. It
was an honor to write this.

Lying in this shallow ditch I hear as they arrive, the
miracle of God is all that's keeping me alive,

and it is that belief in God to which each day I strive,
surprised at this much faith? Just simply gaze into
my life.

Was born in 1800, month October 2nd day, and knee
high to a hopper when my daddy ran away,

before you climb your soapbox and begin to think
that way, remember these are times when all the
black folk here are slaves.

Imagine being sold like stock, to work when cold or
hot, the overseers beatin people if they're old or not,

do not defy the owner, best believe you will be sick,
of getting 10 to 20 lashes from the master's whip.

My last name wasn't given at my birth and that's a
fact, my given name's Nathaniel but they choose to
call me Nat,

the surname of my owner Samuel is what I claim,
you put it all together yes, Nat Turner is my name.

I think about Old Bridget, that's my grandmother you
know, they snatched her out of Ghana, brought her
here to freezing cold,

she ran the Coromantee who were known for slave
revolts, she watched the seeds get planted in me
grow and take a hold.

I thought myself the lucky one for I could read and
write, it brought me to The Bible and I learned to
read it right,

then spent my childhood years admidst the Spirit up
above, it fit my needy soul just like a mitten or a glove.

I ran away at first when I was only 22, I should've
stayed away because I really wanted to,

but 1 month later, picture this it's me a black man
free, a vision told me that I should go back and that
was key.

The visions I receive I know are messages from
God, Old Bridget had religion shining deep within my
heart,

I will inform the brethren and won't stop until they're
saved, The Prophet is the name that I was called by
fellow slaves.

As 6 years pass of this I know it never is too late, the
hands of the Almighty have me primed for
something great,

I carry heavy shoulders for a man of 28, until I
worked the master's field one faithful day in May........

Upbeat, the Islander: Upbeat Comes To Terms

I'm a simple guy,
I like video games, music and succeeding without trying,
So when a man comes up to me and tell me he can save my life,
Who am I to turn down a free book from a generous passerby,
Strange how after hundreds of Reddit articles I find these red words the most astounding,
Each verse saturated with a truth beyond my understanding,
I embraced the scripture in my new-found belief,
Ditching skeptics and scientific contention for a biblical motif,
So with my newfangled faith I embarked on a holy endeavor,
To sift through a lifetime of personal uncertainty to uncover the answer,
I found myself under bottomless pizza boxes,
Buying time stocks from the evolutionary clock,
Discovering purpose through glimmering game discs,
Fashioning polygonal personalities into personable obelisks,
Uncovering the depths of my psyche excavating mountains of dirty laundry,
Rinse on, dry off, purging both physical filth and emotional quandaries,
Sharing walkways with speeding cars enslaved to a monetary duty I can't shirk
A journey of a thousand steps every pilgrimage to work,
My blood a bubbling brew of ambition and potential,
Yet required to surpass insurmountable credentials,
Ignoring the marked symbols in newspapers they seek to brand on my forehead,
Subjective opinions of civility and idealism dropped on me like warheads,
Cryptic predictions of personality and fate,
You think I need a dice roll to determine if I'm straight?
Countless evaluations to rationalize the psyche and soul combined,
What makes their opinion more viable than mine?
I'm taking buoyant steps upon the swamp to reach my destination,
Swapping carnality for divinity to achieve the ultimate self-preservation,
Cremating my mortality I seek to ascend,
Past primitive understanding of a purpose I cannot comprehend,
This road we walk is coated with trip-wire and paved with scorching coals,
Watch out for those flaming hours in your 5-day forecast so find the nearest foxhole,
The burden on our shoulders has already been lifted so there's no reason for us to be aching,
We're on the path to eternal salvation why aren't we skipping?
So why don't you tag along with me on this self-realization odyssey,
I can't promise explosions or tentacle-headed aliens but I know it'll at least be interesting,
Just you, yourself, me and I,
The most dynamic duo to ever breach the sky.

Premium Member Her Name Was Tamar

This Christmas, I am moved by the names in the genealogy of Jesus. I find the Biblical genealogy of Israel and Jesus to be a very fascinating study. There are four named women in the genealogy of Jesus and one name referenced. They are TAMAR, Rahab, Ruth, and Mary: Bathsheba is referenced to as Urias' wife.

When one reads TAMAR's story*, there is the feeling that what she did about her situation was over the top, out of culture, way out of line, and out of the realm of Godliness. By the same token, if we put our feet in her shoes, during her time, we might feel the same as she did regarding her plight and how to remedy the situation. Her patience ran completely out, and she felt that her father-in-law Judah was not living up to his responsibility. However, she did not bother to appeal to a greater earthly authority, nor did she bother to consult with The Lord. She took matters into her own hands, and although her approach was deceitful, her outcome was acceptable to her.

Judah's verdict against her, by current human standards, seemed judgmental and harsh. But Tamar forced him to face the truth and to commute her sentence of death. TAMAR proved to be a force to be reckoned with.

Judah speaks to all of us who spend our lives seeking self-gratification and running rampantly in our reckless self-righteousness. TAMAR speaks volumes about taking matters into our own hands, seeking desperately to find a fix for what ails us. More often than not, such fantasy fixes end in failures, and we live with the consequences. Self-righteousness is often very subtle and is capable of wrapping itself around the best of us. It's the type that says, "If I was writing a Holy Book, there would not be space on my Holy pages for the likes of Judah and Tamar". As a human filled with flaws, flops, and failures of my own, I am most grateful for the grace of God that has been extended to me. Both Judah and TAMAR, by no goodness of their own, found themselves in the genealogy of 'The Christ" who presents Himself as the Savior of the whole world. That includes Judah, TAMAR, you, and me.
