He’s called Santa, Fatman, at times Saint Nick
His flying reindeer are what’s truly sick!
Kids get Santa’s Naughty or Nice List drift
Kindness becomes them, for an awesome gift

Give me garments spun from silk
and the chocolate of milk.
Render me robes of finest fleece
and the golden eggs of geese.

Premium Memberfinding a forgotten purse

Inhaler
Dimes
Brown napkin
Three pairs of eye glasses
Two pencils, an eraser and a pen
Wallet with seventeen dollars and eighty-two cents
Comb, cracker, stale muffin, five receipts, toothpicks
Tiny piece of pink ribbon, twenty-two allergy pills
Empty pill bottle
Sometimes finding a forgotten purse feels like Christmas

Premium MemberLost List

I had a list - I know I did.
Somehow it disappeared.
Now I’m in the store,
and this is what I feared.
I’ve arrived without a clue
As to what I need to buy
Why can’t I remember
what I wrote? Oh, my.

I have to wrack my brain –
there’s butter, eggs and coffee,
Christmas cards and stamps,
some candy canes or toffee,
I cannot think what else,
but when I’m home I’ll find
that the most important item
on the list was left behind.

Premium MemberWinter

Winter may give you a gentle white Christmas.
So, enjoy her gifts for as long as they last.

You may for a while be charmed by her silence.
Don't be, because dangers may be lurking in the distance.

She can pounce on you with floods, winds, and snow.
Or, she may freeze your power lines, creating winter wow.

She captures you with her gorgeous sunrises and breathtaking sunsets.
She is both a beauty and a beast, often driving you into your safety net.

Gone are the fires, hurricanes, and roses; leaving rose bushes with thorns.
Western floods; Midwest freezes; Southern tornados; Eastern snow storms.

Some years she will bring us an extra day in February, like a magic giver.
But whether Ground Hogs see shadows is no concern of Old Man Winter.

A chance for all kids with no fear - Decided to visit the bad this year. No cookies and milk - With complaining they bilk. He listens to them as he downs a beer. 12/20/2022

Premium MemberThe Christmas Card List

Scratch off everyone who passed away
and those who went astray
those who did not send you one
I know but Blah Humbug! is somewhat fun
Have to send to relatives who are rich
and to all family so no one will b...snitch
and to the one who pays your paycheck
Holiday seasons can be a brown nose l...a doodle do
And for the non Christians on your list
sending Thanksgiving cards is the best
No checks, cash or gift cards in 2022
a greeting is all you can afford to do
Edit twice and how many do you need
looks like your down to two or three
Save on stamps and spit
Looks like it's gonna be a Merry Christmas

Dear God,

With faith* in You, I ask for:

     continuous thankful heart
          constant worshipful spirit
               consistent faithful stewardship
                    ceaseless praise-filled soul
                         continual loving devotion…

believing that YOU surely can grant these
as I live for YOU and minister to others.

Your assured gifts I earnestly claim --- in Jesus Christ’s name. Amen!

*Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Premium MemberWish List of the Elderly

Born alone,
A lonely life,
Perhaps
Lonely at death
despite the family.
Cost of living is so high
That you are loved
For what you can give
Not for what
you might take.
My wish list
Does not include
Items of physical
pleasures,
but such things
As love, laughter
and affection.
I wipe the mist
On the window
Bare hand
To see outside.
Waiting alone,
For my children
To come home
for christmas!

Premium MemberLost Sounds That Call a Memory To Life

Lost sounds that call a memory to life

Loose change jingling in the pockets of children.

Baseball cards riffling in the spokes of a bicycle.

The clack-clack of roller skates over sidewalk cracks.

The clickety-click of a stick dragging along a picket fence.

The baying of backyard dogs seeking freedom.

The mournful moan of slippers sliding over a creaky floor.

The gleeful crunch of leaves under shuffling feet.

The whispered call of a windblown dove.

Voices swallowed by the silence of fresh snow.

The feeble flapping of a tree bound plastic bag.

The off key joy of Christmas carolers.

Conquest of a heart
Pouting lips of the one you love
A youthful soul
Memories that skip the ugly bowl

Senses unfold
Love letters read at a quiet hour
Christmas mistletoe kisses
Shooting STAR wishes.

Fondness of special days
And a smile on every face
Never fades
As years pass

Fast as a dizzying carnival ride
The birth of your first born as he cries
Lots of love
Lost loves in old photographs

And slow songs
Favorite memories of yesteryear
No longer here
Bloated pounds of laughter there after

A gleeful tear falls
Beautiful is the fruitful goal
Tear tracks grow
An EASTER Sunday's glow

OUR FINEST HOURS EVER TOLD.
