No Reason

There ain’t no reason
for feelin’ this way.
There ain’t no reason
for wantin’ to stay.

Since you lost your reason,
seems I’ve lost mine.
Now I’ve got no reason—
since you lost your mind.

There ain’t no reason,
not anymore—
since you checked out
and slammed that damn door…

Well, Willie really said it well
When he wrote, “I’d have to be crazy.”
So your mind must’ve gone to hell—
or maybe your heart just got lazy.

As far as I can see,
you’ve lost your reason
for lovin’ me.
Now I’ve lost my reason
for bein’ me.

There ain’t no reason,
not anymore—
since you checked out
and slammed that damn door…

Maybe I’ll find reason
some day…
down the line.

Maybe I don’t need one.
 Well…
baby, that’s fine.

Premium Member Lazy Evening on my Porch with My Dogs

the evening is alive with promise
dogs lie on their porch, loving the breeze
chimes are tinkling in a happy manner
there are two sounds – the air conditioner and crickets

the wind picks up strength; leaves rustle
one dog’s head comes up; he gulps some wind
in the distance a dog barks. My two dogs are on their feet.
They run up the hill barking with serious intent.

Grocery Woes

As so many shoppers
consistently doing all manner of wrong
fail to return their trolleys
from whence they came to where they belong
it really irks when I leave work
drive my hybrid to the supermarket
circle the car park for what seems hours
and can't find a place to park it
the question may seem odd to some
and yet I have to ask it
why don't those self-same lazy people
do to it what they'd do with a shopping basket

Premium Member Lazy Daisy

Lazy Daisy sat on a couch
Lazy Daisy was a slouch
All the free money
And all the free checks
Couldn’t give Daisy some self respect

Premium Member Too Lazy to Think

There once was a brain too lazy to think
As into obscurity destined to sink.
     While we dance to metre
     And conjure up theatre
That some love though into history slink.

Premium Member spent a lazy day

I spent today doing nothing
fell asleep on the couch
both dogs were lying on the floor
laid out flat on their backs, legs in the air
we would still be there happily snoring if a delivery had not happened
and if I had not needed to go to the bathroom

Our Industriously Lazy Orb

The sun wakes slow, a golden yawn,
Stretching light across the dawn,
Soft and warm, with rays that creep
Through windowed eyes from gentle sleep.
It drifts and dances, dips and hides,
Plays peekaboo with clouds that glide,
Bright beams spill in scattered showers,
Kissing earth and blooming flowers.
It tricks the colors, bends the hue,
From green to gold, to deepest blue,
Tickling the air, it stirs the breeze,
Whispering life through grass and trees.
In rain’s soft veil, it finds its place,
And paints a rainbow’s fleeting grace.
With every tilt, each shining glance,
The sun invites the world to dance.
So bountiful, it spills its light,
Yet wanders off come gentle night,
A lazy friend, unhurried guest,
Gifting warmth, then taking rest.

Bed257

I am a lone foreigner alocated
in an exotic landscape with
nothing but the foaming blue tides of duvet
that I rythmically sway with like
the sweet branches of spring.
I stand, bend, sit on the salty
lips of that ocean.

however the shallow has never
been my comfort zone so
I fling myself into the belly of my bed
and find my head in the jaws of a soft
pillow chewing my skull at snail pace.
slowly, a heavy weight of
sleep drowns my lifeless limbs
and sedates my consciousness with a lullaby.
"you're free!
free from labour, free from you, free from everything besides me", sings Lady Lazy.

suddenly
dawn breaks with orange permeable heat,
she is Bed 257.
she is not a root, she is a seed.
keeping me from work,
I pull myself out of
the vast roaring sheets and tidal duvet,
I'm gratefully unappreciative
and so the cycle continues.

Before the brow grows cold

lazy bones, bound in poverty’s grip
in a garden, where hesitation weeds grow~
filled with s t r a n g l e d d e l i c a c i e s…
a recipe of wisdom, never tasted
couched like a fly in an endless stupor…
abandoned in a ship, lost in the doldrums~
in a dark tunnel, where
        echoes slowly f a d i n g
doomed to sail a sinking ship with no lifeboat

yet your arms can still push a boulder uphill~
so put your shoulder to the wheel...
never stop, reach the mountain's peak
sharpen the saw, dig for gold, tame white horses~
while sweat streams down your brow

for once you're interred in a grave
with nothing to illuminate the darkness
mountain of your strength will only enrich the grains of sand...
and fork in the road will give you no direction to choose
you'll just be lost in the maze...
like a deer in a headlight
as confused as a dog watching a magic trick

Premium Member Autumn Days

the chill of a lazy rainy sunday
a good book by the fireplace
surely this is food for the soul

Premium Member In a world where time seems to flow like a lazy river

In a world where time seems to flow like a lazy river,
I walk among thoughts that weave together like a tapestry of dreams,
slowing my steps, for haste is not my companion,
but deep within my soul, I carry the desire to find someone,
a woman with whom to share stories until the end of eternity,
when even eternity would seem a fleeting moment.
My words would bloom like flowers on endless fields,
and my voice would be a song that knows no fatigue,
I would listen to the echo of her thoughts and share meaningful silences,
remaining beside her, a soul seeking understanding in her gaze,
but all these would come to life only if she were here, next to me,
like a dream taking shape in the gentle light of dawn.

Premium Member lazy ascent

anointing soul with heart’s intent
to enjoy absolute freedom
we granted love and light consent
to take us straight to God’s kingdom

along a vibrational shift
we set sail in the vibrant void
each emote choosing to uplift
mindful that we be not decoyed

here now within mind-body urn
we became the earth and the sky
embracing love’s benign bliss burn
flames in which we saw ego die

doing nothing thus in repose
we watched our soul metamorphose

Premium Member The Gym Awaits

Yesterday I thought of going to the gym
for a minute considered going for a swim
then I remembered I had better things to do
convinced I could come up with a thing or two

Today I was thinking again of going to the gym
but soon gave up on that reckless silly whim
instead stayed home to bake a chocolate cake
planned our supper and thawed a ribeye steak

Tomorrow I'll likely consider going to the gym
but save myself the trouble and just pretend I'm slim
afterall life's too short to waste it breaking in a sweat
while cocktail glasses await to be filled with somethin' wet

Premium Member Lazy Balmy March Day

Air conditioner is loud and steady
Wind chimes prove the wind is ready
Balmy spring day bringing us March
Limber and lithe, not a bit of starch

Dogs stare at me on this lazy day
Loving the country in an appreciative way
Not a single sound, no tweet, chirp or peep
The kind of day I could do a lot of serious sleep
