Aung San Suu Kyi Myanmar Rohingya

aung san suu kyi MYANMAR Rohingya
Sad when human life become intolerable,
inhumane,
nauseating,
heartbreaking,
kids deliberately taken from their parents,
left to fend for their sustenance,
begging and pleading,
countless in numbers to be individualized.

A boy's little fingers stretched out for compassion,
but find none.
Never in a million years would his mother let this be,
but she was executed for her beliefs.
A little girl in a pretty frock
tells of her once fairly privileged life.
Her mother wrenched from her in the same way.

Another,
and another,
white cracked lips,
bare footed,
tearless sobs,
all jammed behind muddy barricades,
bowls outstretched,
waiting impatiently for sustenance,
still hoping the parents in their eyes will save them.
aung san suu kyi when will our parents come for us?

Aung San Suu Kyi

I cultivated roses in my garden;
I thought I would offer you a garland.
But when the flowers heard your name,
they all fell off in shame like dead leaves.

Now there are only thorns for you.

I cultivated birds in my forest;
I thought I would make you hear their songs.
But when they heard your name,
they all fell down dead in sorrow.

Now there is only hatred for you.

[ Dedicated to the new Hitler of Myanmer, the killer of innocent people in Arakan ]

Flower in People’s Heart

Arrested! Contained!
Remanded just the body
The iron heart will never,
Never surrender.
The tip of people's arrow
For democracy
Flower in heart will blossom
Over the dictators!

For Aung San Suu Kyi

For Aung San Suu Kyi

manacled
you remained unyielding
bruised by their bayonets of power
you remained unyielding
gagged by their coarse brutality
you remained unyielding
today you return
and we salute
your spirit
that remained
and remains
unyielding

Her
Nelson
Mandela
tenacity
has final reward
with elated cries of
glee in newly elected
democracy. This much honored
lady of Burma birth is free at
last to share her worth in her peaceful mirth.

“Courage comes from cultivating the habit
Of refusing to let fear dictate one’s actions”

The freedom of a pacifist
Is sitting in front of everyone’s door
Do you open the door
Or you keep it shut
Choices are made every day
When there is a war going on
You can go to war
And serve the dictators
Who came to our planet
From outer space
You can go
And pray for world peace
In a cell of your own
That is all you will have
Not even clothes to wear
The nakedness of your consciousness
With nothing else left
Your life will never be the same
As an icon of peace
Be simple
Be brave
Speak the truth
Our bodies are transient
Our thoughts are indestructible
Our spirit is eternal
Imagine peace
Imagine freedom
For a whole country
