Beneath the Rainbow Bridge, My Little Kitten

Beneath the Rainbow Bridge, my little kitten

Washes away her butler’s tears.

You were a tiny kitten resting in the palm of my hand—

A fragile heartbeat, a flickering breath.

And then,

A soft rainbow light subtly leaked through.

I held you in my arms and pleaded:

“Don’t cross the Rainbow Bridge.”

“It’s nothing but a foolish dream, a sweet illusion.”

The little kitten faintly whispered back:

“No...”

“Even so, I still want to taste that sweet illusion.”

The moonlight pouring through the window—

The windowsill trembles in the wind.

At dawn,

Your eyes were already closed,

Your tiny body cold as ice.

Within that warmthless presence,

I face your death and my own grief.

Your trembling final breath pierced deep into my heart,

And in that single moment, my entire life was shaken.

A faint imprint on your tiny paw pad speaks:

“I want to walk. I want to eat my fill.”

“I want to meet good friends and run together.”

“And sometimes, I just want to lie wrapped in my butler’s arms forever.”

I take a drag from my cigarette.

The smoke remains trapped, lingering motionless in my room.

Little Kitty

Play, tiny kitty, no more in fear,
Come away from the shelter with me,
Enjoy, be happy, live a life dear!

Grow, little kitty, the world is yours,
Tiny kitty no longer you be,
Youth, now progressing, growing cat roars!

Rest, full-grown kitty, sit for the day,
As our memories build steadily,
Stay here beside me, don’t go away.

Sleep, senior kitty, passed to beyond,
Time here together, gone speedily,
Sweet little kitty, one special bond.

Premium Member There Is A Kitty On My Floor

In every corner of my floor and everywhere are toys,
the floor is littered- even with some that make noise.

There is a huge floor scratcher shaped like a boat,
and dangly things that I must for kitty daily float.

There is a tall scratch post that is very tattered,
'cause kitty is determined that it must be battered.

There are blankets thrown out of her soft fluffy bed,
and it seems her squeaky mouse have also fled.

There are catnip pouch shapes for endless fun,
and kitty will run with them till she is tired- done.

But, I do not mind the clutter and stuff on my floor,
'cause each day kitty and me bond more and more.

Premium Member Kinderpaws Kitty Santa

Kinderpaws, the kitty Santa sat on many presents galore
pretty soon one paw was hanging and he was on holiday snore
we tried to scoot him off because it was six a.m. Christmas Day
But Kinderpaws had other plans, he refused to give leeway

The Death of My Cat

The death of my cat
is grander than my entire life,

And his very first cry
is stronger than my very first love.

Look upon this, O humans—
Your grand sorrows are, after all,
nothing but mere footprints
beneath the soft jelly of his paws.

Spade is the name of a cat
So frisky curious and black
He sneaks up on me
Making me scream
Demanding a kitty snack

Premium Member Kitty Isabella

Kitty Isabella- is a shy cat,

when I take her outside she just lies flat.

She likes to roll on her back,

and my feet she will attack . . .

Her favorite thing to do . . . is chitchat !

Sweet Kitty

The fat grey cat sat licking, licking her long silky fur.
She lazily sprawls and yawns with a harrumph. She lay her head down and splayed her soft pink padded toes, as she curled up to take a deep kitty sleep.
Dream sweet kitty, dream.

Premium Member Ode to Kitty

Dear Kitty, today, I sing your everlasting praise,
I, your humble Frisky, dog next door,
bark a heartfelt word and phrase,
though, both of us are alive no more,
and, though my hackles, you did raise
when you walked upon the wall
dividing our two yards.
To eat you, I tried hard,
but I could only jump so high, and never did you fall.

Dear Kitty, it's heaven now where we two play
as we while away each blessed day,
where up here, too, a wall divider,
where you may tease and prance.
as I bark, "I want my teeth inside her,
if she'd just give me a chance".
There is no other cat than thee,
for me to chase, I truly say,
to Kitty, the cat that won't ever fall, for all eternity.

Oh, Kitty cat, you are at once docile and daring
You prowl the night in search of some prey
With soft steps, as you stealthily cross the doorway
You never meow and into the dark you boldly stray

Our home with its premises is your domain
With glowing eyes that are cold as ice,
I often see you padding up and down the corridor
Looking for some unsuspecting mice

At the end, you come up with some tiny thing
And enjoy tossing it between your paws
Flicking your tail and darting up and down,
You toy with it lifting and dropping it from your jaws

Seeing what you have brought home today
I stay so shocked, petrified and breathless
Instead of a mouse, you have carried a snake inside
Proudly placing it before me like a victor fearless.

My Kitty cat, you are both sweet and fierce
How fast, from a dove, you turn into a whiskered brat
Though I enjoy all your daring deeds and feats
I don’t want to see you growing over smart.

Premium Member pre teenage little kitty cat slumber party

the pre-teenage little kitty cat slumber party was in full swing
they had talked great grandma McClintock into hosting this thing
playing records, because this was way back in nineteen-sixty-two
why do they call it slumber? she asked the next day. It’s not what they do.

A CAT I DIDN'T LIKE

I never met a cat
That I didn't like
Until I met the terror
Who goes by the name of Mike

He's a walking tornado
Storms follow him everywhere
He thinks it's funny
Tearing up my favorite chair

I had to replace the cushions
And repair the wood
It's not a scratching post
I don't think he understood

He runs around the living room
Like it's a race track
Knocking over flower pots
Oh my aching back

He's not an ordinary cat
He has a furry mane
Please somebody help me
Before I go insane

I tried to be his friend
But all he does is hiss
How much longer
Am I going to put up with this

He used to be such a sweet kitten
When he was first born
Now look at his claws
And how much he has torn

I would call the nearest zoo
But I can't reach the phone
My sweet little kitten
Thinks I'm a giant bone
