Kapoor Poems

Premium MemberRaj Kapoor

Raj Kapoor, A Bollywood immortal film star,
His movies had a deep impact on audience,
Nargis, was his favorite heroin,
I thought she was his wife.

There once was a man from Bombay,
Who danced in a silly and wild way.
With a wig on his head,
And a grin so widespread,
He made everyone laugh

He created a film industry dynasty,
Even now, his grandson and granddaughters dominate the film industry,
There was a myth, if your last name is not Kapoor,
You cannot become a heart throb film star.

Delightful

Dogwood trees too
Declaring - Spring has arrived
Distressful, dandelions choke my lawn

A Tribute To My Late Wife Shashi

A short Poem as
A Tribute to My Lost Wife.

Countless voices and memories

May get foggy or dim

By the flow of time stream,

But where do they get erased,

From the continuous petals of mind,

What to say of friends, even life partners,

Get lost, while walking on the path of life,

But, their images and figures,

On the petals of mind,

Continue to spread their fragrance,

Till we breath and live in this world,

To inspires us to fight, the darkness all around

To support those, who are losing courage and hopes

This is the mantra of life

I got it from my lost loved ones and

from my lost wife Shashi.

 .

Even if, rocks become obstacles,

To destroy into pieces,

All the bright figures and shapes,

Want to lay rope to bind,

To bind the stream of art and writing,

Which has immense power and force,

But where has anyone stopped

The flow and current of a powerful river

Or has closed in his fist

The beautiful fragrance flowing in the air.

Please continue doing your normal physical exercises or other Yoga postures as usual without breaking them after doing the 5 to 15 minutes of my suggested Musical Yoga as it is a kind of Pranayam and an alternative way to do Kapal Bhati ( abdomen exercise) the most difficult of Yoga Exercise.

The third most important thing is that when you practice this Musical Exercise keep the audio on high so that you can sing with the Music of the video while concentrating your mind on breathing and music.

Imp. NOTE: This Video is not a medicine of Corona but it is a wonderful precaution to keep Corona away from us, as much it is possible, as it improves our general immune system.

Prayer To God

NOTE: I posted this poem on my time line of face book on 29th March 2020

Prayer to God

Please help and protect your children, O' God,
From the emerging darkness and helplessness,
From the havoc, which is being created by Corona
It is causing concern, sadness and
ruining millions and millions.
God's own children are in distress,
In many parts of this Earth and
need your blessings & love, O’ God. 01
.
Please help them O' God,
As the fear of losing their dear ones,
Has ruined their strength and courage. 02
.
Only you can give them courage,
To understand, what follies they have made,
Your light has the power to restore their strength,
And confidence in you, O' benevolent God.

We all are only your own created humans,
Please help them, O' mercy full God
Everywhere in the world they are crying,
We need your light and love,
We need your hands on our heads.
We pray to thee, O' God. 03

A Poem As a Tribute On Mothers Day Part 3

Concluded

A Poem as a Tribute on Mother's Day Part 3 concluded.
.

My mother Late Rajrani Kapoor devoted her whole life,
for the love and care of her husband,
My most wonderful father (Late Dr. Amar Nath Kapoor)
Who had given her more pains of separations,
then the flowers of happiness as life companion,
As my father had sacrificed even his studies and
other comforts of life
For the sake of India’s freedom struggle
On the call of Mahatma Gandhi. 11
.
Suddenly I heard as if, the Koyal had left
That tree shade and had flew away
to some other tree
To continue her melody but
Without leaving any mark of her,
wonderful singing on the tree or anywhere
I realized that, no epitaph would ever be made
In the honour of
Such wonderful songs of Koyal
Similarly, no epitaph would ever be made
For all such wonderful freedom struggle workers
Like my mother,
Who silently contributed the best possible for her
For the sake of her motherland. 12

A Poem On Baya Bird For Children

A Poem on Baya Bird for Children and adults too

How can I forget,
This sweet little, dream weaver
Bird Baya,
Whom I love, from the depths of my heart,
This dream weaver Baya,
Reminds me and reminds constantly to all its fans,
How anyone, can weave their dreams
Into a reality,
By collecting one by one each straw,
And then weaving, each straw
With a skill,
Which only needs
Practice and patients only.
.
Children, of this modern generation,
Needs to watch and see this bird,
Very carefully,
How firm determination and practice,
Of any art and skills,
Can be learnt by anyone of us.

All you need, is a will to learn and do it,
With concentration of mind,
Which improves your skills, slowly and slowly
And one day,
You too can give a shape,
To your dreams,
Like this Dream Weaver Baya.

A Short Story of Winter Wonders

"A Short Story of Winter Wonders"

The old man looked at the sky, which was still dark,
Amid the chilling waves, of cold and aching cries,
Which were coming, due to long food less day and nights,
His body’s flashes, bones and even his stomach too were aching.

Without the sign of any warmth, of any kind except a little food,
Which with difficulty he could secure, for his ailing, hungry wife,
His destination was his beloved wife, who was still a little away from him,
There was no place to warm up, in that chill biting time,
Without the hope of any glimpse, of the Sun’s slightest warmth and shine.

He prayed to God, to give him a little more strength,
So that his tired and aching legs, may reach near his waiting wife,
As her last hopes and eyes, must be hanging on the doors,
To see her love at least once, before she departs to heavenly shrine.

The old man suddenly saw, the glimpse of his doors and pushed his aching legs,
Next moment, he was inside the doors and found his love and hopes were still alive.

A Prayer To Nature To Cool Down the Fire

A Prayer to Nature to Cool Down the Fire ( Form- Free Verse ) while posting the form is showing something else. PS Team to please check the error.

A Prayer to Nature for saving the Plants, Trees, Birds and Animals in Northern California.

O’ God of Nature
A humble request to you
Kindly cool down
The flames of your anger
Do not burn
These innocent trees, flora and fauna.

You are punishing these innocent
Trees – plants and wildlife
Birds and innumerable insects-
For mistakes committed by some humans.01
.
They were always dear to you and
They are your own
Is it good to punish the children of Nature
For human mistakes
These innocent, silent plants and trees
What will remain there?
To give praise to you
If you don't stop your flames
Please quench the devastating fire. 02
.
Hey! Infinite showers of rains
Cool please cool down these flame of fire
And save these trees, plants, birds and all creatures
Look around you
Spread out the shadow of your affection on
These flaming fires.03

Greetings On Your Independence Day

center

Greetings on your Independence Day

Greetings on your Independence Day
Dear American poet friends of Poetry Soup
Including those
Who had left their lasting impressions on me
In the blooming period of Poetry Soup
By their poems, thoughts and beautiful words
Which they engraved
On many pages and poems of mine and others
Or on their pages and poems
It all has left a lasting influence
On my mind and heart
That I often remember those great friends
Knowing well that many of them
Would not hear the voices of my heart

As some of them are no longer present on poetry soup
And some have found
Some other more soothing ways and groups
But those who are still in the arena
May feel like responding
To an old friend's memories recall.

Days and nights keep changing
Like the cycle of life
The Makers of every nation
Also keep changing
With the mood and liking of its people
What really matters is the works
Which they do
Or the things which they implement
For the general good of their masses
As well as
For the general good of the entire world.

Let Your Aspirations Bloom

Merry Christmas to all my Poetry Soup Friends and Members with a wonderful
Photo of new born Jesus published around 1960 in an American Poetry book purchased by me second hand around 1967 which I still keep as a Treasure for me. I am also giving a small poem originally written in Hindi as a Muktaq ( A form of Hindi Poetry)

"Muktak - The distinction of poetry in which there is no preconception of the things described"

Hindi Muktak in English-

"Let all your aspirations and desires
Bloom and bloom freely in your mind
Who knows, when life began to smile again for you
Flowers of your wishes would sprout only, if you have aspirations,
Otherwise, nothing comes from nothing."

A Short Prelude To Baya Bird

A short Prelude to Baya Bird

The Poem is inspired by a photo of Baya Bird placed on face book. The beautiful picture of Baya bird can be seen on following URL:

A short Prelude to Baya Bird
.
What an unparalleled charisma of Nature
A small tiny bird has made this wonderful
Piece of Nature's pleasing unique wonder. 01
.
How do you get all these straws by your efforts
Then you weave them like a skilled weaver
These are not nest but they are the
Art monuments of Nature. 02
.
After watching such beautiful nest I wish
How wonderful it would be, if I could live
For few days with you, O bird
To see how beautiful is your world. 03
.
Alas ! If all the little children could have lived near you for some time
Will the new generation would save you from diminishing, O' sweet bird
This thought comes to mind, whenever I see you O' bird Baya. 04

With the message of Merry Christmas to all my friends on Poetry Soup and else where in the world. ...Ravindra K Kapoor

A Prayer on Christmas

The world is in the grip
Of hatred and violence
The lovers of peace and
Non violence have lost
Its voice and influence
Before the monger of
Hatred and disdain. 01
.
Your message of peace,
Love and brotherhood
For all is really needed
Today more than ever
Before O' Jesus. 02
.
Throw the beam of your
Kindness and love
On all and
Specially on those
Who have lost
Their peace of mind and
Are searching their goals
On the roads of devastation
Full of brutality and hatred
For others. 03

While Watching Your Beauty

While Watching Your Beauty

Note: This poem was written as a Photo Poem
in 2010 which I Had shared also on face book.
URL:
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=142307285819928&set=a.114474218603235.25716.100001219732381&type=3&theater

While Watching Your Beauty

While watching your beauty
O' Heavenly flower
Of Lotus
I found myself closed
in you
While watching the beauty
Of your petals and colors.
.
To accompany me there
In the fragrance chamber of your heart
I found a honey bee hovering
On your blossomed petals.
.
The bee was trying to console me,
That
I was not alone there,
In drinking the nectar of beauty
Which was lying before us-
So openly-
So abundantly-
So lavishly.
.
My mind was busy
In drinking this
Over flowing wealth of Nature
To tell the world
The story of this journey
I came out in time
From the enchanting
Beauty of Lotus
So that others may hear and
Know this Story of Nature.
.
