Gut Feeling

Your gut holds instinct,
It will make you think.
That sinking feeling,
Is revealing something.
Some things are not as they seem,
The gut knows when to intervene.
Coming in between,
What you are seeing,
Truly believing.
Receiving the information,
You have a clearer part to play in.
Within this simulation,
Your tuned to your own station.
You feel the invasion,
Embrace the sensation.
Meet the vibration,
To see truth or manipulation.
Instinct saves you from extinction,
So what is your gut thinking.

Reflection of my best friend!

My best friend walks beside my soul,
Not always seen, but always whole.
We talk in ways the world won’t hear,
In jokes and jabs and thoughts sincere.

We’re echoes in a common shell,
Two minds where one truth loves to dwell.
We share the heat of daily light,
And wrap each other through the night.

55 seconds still, no sound,
Yet louder peace is rarely found.
In silence, storms begin to slow,
We trade our highs, confess our low.

One day, the world will understand,
How friendship doesn’t need a hand.
Just rigorous, kind observation
A glance, a pause, a revelation.

I met him once not far, not wide,
But looking from the other side.
A mirror framed our secret blend
Myself, and still—my truest friend.

Cup

The love I have for you wakes me at night.
It sends me out at all hours shouting,
Darting down the sidewalk in both directions.
It never smiles and always expects the worst.
It looks for you when you’re already there.

The love I have hollows me out with bombs when I sleep,
Then packs the broken spaces with flowers and scenes recalled,
Of walks to the car wash when you were three,
A spit-matted bear, clutched at your tiny hip.

I have no choice in loving you,
As much as a cat has whenever it bathes
Or a bird born knowing how nests are made.
So too am I mastered by codes too old and close to see,

How you’re in a cup in the hands of life
And the worried cup is me.

Premium Member Sky Veil Instinct

Written: March 27, 2025, for Sponsored by: Mystic Rose Rose

         ***********

Waves into twilight that is now absent.
From flowers clipped just before their ideal flight.
Irony changes with the pulse and its might.
Their immaculate poetics is transcendent.

Her strands of talent are enduring mysteries.
A tangible awareness during the night.
Resilient stars, with every beat of a fight.
In an arena of naming, deeds have histories.

The fighting instinct pushes across the sky's veil.
My heart beats firm for a sight vivid and bright.
Dazzling light: There is hope in sight.
Emotions contort, akin to an enigmatic tale.

Premium Member Indomitable Instinct

The exigent mountain
in the tough terrain
of upheaved life,
          crumbling,
needs to be climbed
as the solemn summit
alluringly calls.
I follow
the undefined trail
in surging storm
of stifling strife,
          relentless.

I cross with piety
the divine portals
God installs
in the precincts
of eclipsed destiny,
          dormant.
In His decree,
designed with certainty
I repose resolute trust,
faith shows me the path
to the content summit
of solacing rapture
in the dark nights
of scary squalls,
          delusive.

The turbulent sea
of chaotic life
in tempestuous disarray,
I need to sail
          serene,
find with forbearance
the last anchorage,
get guided
by His benign beacon
with dedication just,
          steadfast.

The tormenting alley
of endless anguish,
          submerged
in opaque darkness
          desolate,
needs to be lit,
the shreds
of shattered soul
salvaged from the abyss,
are to be sutured
with threads
of divine essence
esoteric,
embroidering ecstasy
at the frail fringe
of agonized actuality,
shaping the survival instinct,
indomitable.

Mother's Instinct

A mother's heart
Always knows her child
Whatever, whenever, wherever.

A mother's eyes
Always defeated by her feelings
Situation, occasion, intuition.

A mother's love
Always lends a helping hand
Unrequited, untarnished, unconditional.

Misplaced Maternal Instinct, Part II

...And I suppose therein lies the rub,
since society as a whole
is not like mother and child,
it does not fit into such roles.
To grow feelings are sometimes hurt,
in fact they are guaranteed to,
and half the time the push-and-pull
is what generates something new.
And often the failure in those we see
who claim they’re ‘victims’ and ‘oppressed,’
tells others what they shouldn’t do
if they’re looking to pass life’s test.
And saying unpopular things
is a check on passions and trends,
if such voices just get cancelled
we can walk blindly to bad ends.
The competition and friction
that gives our society life
slows and stops in female instinct
becomes our only guiding light,
which leaves you quite vulnerable
to those who make no such mistake,
maternal instinct does nothing
against monsters who just want to take.
This begs the questions, what do we
do to get it all back on track?
Tell women to marry, have more kinds
and into the kitchen get back?

Ugh…that’s gonna be a hard sell.

Human kills human
For natural selection
Think, is it humane?

Premium Member Feral instinct

Blatant display
of weaponry
on Republic day,
perhaps tradition,
invoking pride
and patriotism
but somehow I feel,
such muscle flexing,
crass and vulgar,
is best avoided
by all regimes
who so flaunt
aggressive intent
but there’s a vote bank,
that looks forward
to fanning fires
and so the monarch
goes with the script
which is proven
to keep him
and his cronies
in power.

Premium Member DRAGONFLY - INSTINCT?

Today I saw a dragonfly emerge
From final stage of metamorphosis.
I see his four fine wings opening out,
Their silver lace lit by the midday blaze.

To see each works, he takes some time to test.
Seems that he can control them one by one.
Each one having its own mechanism.
The time has come and suddenly he’s off.

This sets my mind wond'ring and asking how,
Without flying lessons from his parents,
He knows just what to do at the right time.
Hundreds of actions done in split second.
How can this be without any training?
Decisions made with no experience.

Some dismiss this and say it's just instinct.
In other words they haven’t got a clue.
Perhaps his brain receives vital data.
From higher consciousness that controls all.
