Saqi Poem Series: Collecting Stars

Saqi
I yearn
To pluck these stars
Out of their distant stupor
To hurl them
And watch them explode
In the immeasurable
Distance
I yearn
To thunder
My intentions
to rip down
mountainous curtains
I yearn
To make
Curvaceous inroads
And watch the
Majestic peaks
Bend to kiss the valleys
I yearn
To stride across
Universes and
dimensions
And bend destiny
To merge
My reality
in your presence
Saqi I warn you
Tonight I am restless
And I will not be accountable
For all that I profess
Through my drunk verses
And
For tomorrow's consequences

the Lost Mermaids

The Albatross grants us its vue
The lamp is bright
to mature your soul
The nonsense makes me numb
The Mermaids of the Canals cry
their demise
They play their best web, swim
Make your plans
tell everyone you've got to lose
to unspun the gilded gauge
amongst a riverway of lies
The Albatross between
the stretch of canals
The Mariner tales his tales
Trains making with their inroads
disputing the canals
The Mermaids also constant
as the tides
lose their right
and death falls the land
the Trains took your kingdom
To torch the earth
and see a rivers reed dissolve

Clouds

You watch the candle burning
you thought they were a charade
watching them flicker
You played with painted ladies
see how they turn and twitch

And the moon is praying
to be somewhere else,
solitary as a walk on the parade
you watch the sky's unfold
like petticoats they flutter
by beach and inroads
you groan for redemption
gathered within the dust

Clarion Call

The rotting process,
The ailing wood,
Slowly its strength ebbed,
Gradually its resilience declined,
Blemishes made inroads to its core,
Its roots became feeble and frail,
Its boughs withered,
They fell off like drops of rain,
When wood becomes earth,
It is washed away by seasons” denude,
When wood sleeps,
It is home to crawling creatures,
A loss to nature’s tapestry,
A marker for tomorrow’s frayed beauty.

The Last Crusade

Most of his mature life
had been a process of recoiling
and mending.

Until late
he had not suspected
that this prolonged retreat
had been his lot.

He thought he was building bricks,
constructing a living edifice
while in realty he was engaged
in an epic dismantling.

He thought he had made inroads,
woven together great journeys,
drawing to himself many pathways
toward a destination or purpose.

Yet of late, he felt
that his life had been a slow withdrawing,
a giving way
disguised as steps forward.

Despite this new understanding
he sensed a strange vindication,
as if it were more noble to give way
and draw back.

The battle at last lost,
the surrender acknowledged;

today he whistles a tune
that the thorn bushes sing
when a homeless wind
rattles through them.

Premium MemberTough Though True

War reprehensible war, with such connotations as I abhor'
Also the agents of its inception; on them be complete rejection'
Those that sow unrest, within the people's breast; bones of contention'
Sedition, false invention. Subversion seeping ; lost leaders no connection.'
The running sore of bribery; the massaging of anxiety division in society
Renewed other buzzwords, mind you.' Or perhaps you've given up?
Feel it's all just too much? As a weight bearing heavy that holds you as such
At night it awakes you, tries to mentally break you; in small inroads too
Each day requesting more dues' asked to live inside out? Helps to help'
Leading to who would Know where? Perhaps it's worth to still care?
Ignore the smiling doomsayers the convinnial conniving ritual makers
The encourages of pot banging, and various noise also hooting clanging
A paganistic bent, driving evil spirits away? In this enlightened age?
I see the dark of night; in this mess; this depressive plight'
It's been a psyops move in muted light, a relentless sicko driven fight
Yet hold the line, defend and rightly, speak out on the fear insighfully.'

Inch
by inch
we progress,
making inroads
to entwine with soul,
which in turn connects us
to domain of love and light,
present both within and without
seeking but surrender of our mind,
that our heart may be filled by bliss divine.

No doing is needed toward this end,
for we already are that essence,
although not now so apparent,
since maya grips us herein,
confining awareness
in a narrow band
encircled by
a dark mist
of our
fear.

Ink To Paper An Un Quatrainal 19nov17

On an empty page, my quill
Does not sit to quench
Its thirst to lessen this quandary
To let, nay make, quintessential

Inroads, biding thy quiver
Of lexiconical bolts; queuing
And firing forthwith rousingly formed quips
Onto this pulpy papery quilt

Begat by thy mind & soul; quoth
I, the Poeter, set to quicken
One’s pace upon the barren quagmires
Of this regimented delineation of the exalted quatrain

Without the rigmarole to produce
Each line with, a notion of being abstruse
Nor, being meant to infer being obtuse
Or, to take a step back and be a communicatory recluse

A piece de resistance for the ruminating
Ilk, step forward with grandeur; minds & souls; scintillating.

meandering
along the hinterland
relentlessly I search
for innocent love
in the remoteness
of unspoilt territory…

Premium MemberAt the Crossroads

"You are standing at the crossroads,
So consider your path, your inroads."

"Your ancient ways are obsolete.
These old paths no longer compete."

"Then which path leads to blessing?
You could ask Me, or keep on guessing.
But you'd rather scheme than follow,
And moral blindness leaves you fallow,
Saying, "Everything will be all right!"
When everything is not all right!

"Our evolving wisdom achieves.
"Our evolving morality relieves."

"Your evolving wisdom deceives.
"Your evolving morality grieves."

"Why if I do not follow Your path,
Am I threatened with Your wrath?"

"You cultivate lies in your heart,
And believe it makes you stalwart.
But hardened beyond refining,
Your rebellion becomes maligning.
You continue down this path
Until all that's left is wrath."

"So do not all paths lead to You?
And if not, what is the real issue?"

"Know Me and know this to be true:
I alone control all the paths-
But only My path cures you."

Premium MemberSummer's Soliloquies

Sun's flames burn through hazy, midday heat
Raising fierce winds -- dusty, choking ...
Fiery orb descending toward horizon's lair
~ Ghostly white moon rises, painted on low-ceilinged sky

Bare, brown patches spread, invading once-proud green mantles
Parched blades wither, yielding to ceaseless daily inroads
Of blighted blotches, rank weeds, strangling lush herbage
~ Signs of fading Summer's sad soliloquies

Flowers vanish, decapitated stick figures
Barren, beheaded stalks, twisting, turning
On their ghastly way, headless horsemen of the day
~ Sere petals grinning, decked out in obsolescence

Moist green leaves prematurely crinkle brown
Unmoored from twig or branch, breeze by
Face up, now capricious, flip over, nurse Earth's bosom
~ Signs of fading Summer's sad soliloquies

Crickets' symphonies screech endlessly
Fireflies lanterns flicker on-off, on-off, on-off
Abrupt descent of Humidity's airless curtain
  ~ Summer soliloquies' soundless denouement

Catastrophe

Catastrophe

Kedarnath-
The protector and the destroyer
still stands erect in his foyer
amidst the stunning mountain scape
where Mandakini flows by His nape
like a running pilgrim’s horde
where Nandi keeps his guard.

Oh! the cloud-burst and the deluge
Swept away the crowd- so noisy, so huge
Out of the shrine where Shiva’s grace
Was felt by the mob by his swiveling mace.

Oh! how could he save so savage the men
Who had incurred Shiva’s bane?
Greedy men with saggy morals in league
With corrupt power and earthy hunger so big
Luring them to make inroads in the heart of Nature
The nature who is Shiva’s Better Half
In forms and feature!!

Obsessive Constraints - Part Ii

the onset of emotional nadir,
   where ballistic ordnance bombed away

Allied, linkedin, and synced Luftwaffe
and Panzer division invasion that clay
like materiel within southern cerebral hemi
   sphere inroads usurped no delay
riding roughshod via synapse straits sporting
   scoring sorties using every

to decimate with Sherman determination tuff flay
leaving not one iota (oft times) referenced as gray
matter unaffected quite aware

Villanelle: The Dilemma of the Non-Violent – 61

Evil-doers at heart are the worst cowards
Since the war-path pullulates in their numbers
They conceal their greed in faces turned backwards

The Yi Jing’s strategy compels turning inwards
Do big power foreign policies discount dollars
Aren’t evil-doers at heart the worst cowards

To seek peace in one’s well-being needs no words
Must countries sans big wing span claim to be powers
They conceal their greed in faces turned backwards

Turn not inwards for fear of others making inroads
Can what applies to countries fall on wax-clogged ears
Evil-doers at heart are the worst cowards

Yin left to itself cannot but collapse inwards
Retreat into the safety of the self indoors
They conceal their greed in faces turned backwards

The cavernous mouth sucks on its own innards
Shun the cannibal who feeds on his own neighbours
Evil-doers at heart are the worst cowards
They conceal their greed in faces turned backwards
