Anxiety in Sobriety

Feeling so alone in a crowded room
Missing your friends while finally seeing who your true friends are
Wanting to get out and go have fun
But realizing your old ideas of fun only ever landed you in trouble
Starting to see what everyone else was seeing all along
Ashamed of who you were before
Knowing you never would have gotten where you are now without being that person
Conflicted by your own thoughts and emotions
Feelings start rushing back that you had blocked out
Your heart starts pounding as if it will burst out of your chest
Unsure of how to survive your new journey through sobriety
Keeping your inner circle small
Reaching out to everyone on your list
Expressing your anxiety
Explaining every little trigger
Praying they will understand
They tell you to breath it’s ok to not be ok

Time will tell What time it is

Born alone, die alone, time is so, I don't know
Slow than fast, blowing past, grown attached, to life alone
Idle time, The devil's ground, mess around, and find a zone
A mile wide, and getting out, is talked about, and I could go
On and on, in a circle, inner circle, autobahn
Nonchalant, the little Whirlpool, getting pulled to, drama thon
Better ghost, than heaven's host, read and write, been read and wrote
Every toast, is said with hope, so speak your mind, or get a quote
Get in line, or never go, trade and eye, for treasure trove
Wine and dine, with centerfold, a nine to five, forget it bro
Lets not forget, it's all for fun, it's all been said, and all been done
Through the maze, the dues you pay, are dollars flung, to I'll become
All I've done, is all for love, of sport of course, it's not for none
They often turn, to watch and learn, my fondest words, the honest ones
Inside my head, supply of lead, to pencil everything, I have said
Nine or ten, my rhymes again, I guess time will tell, what time it is

We must mightily mold matches in this life.
Actions must be taken to forestall strife.
We stop at every junction to demarcate.
What we decide will determine our fate.

Our upbringing has a significant impact on us.
Those who belong to us shape our solid fuss.
Be wary of who you let into your inner circle.
Because their vitality could be a hurdle.

You should stay away from the negative.
Things that are poisonous and deceptive
Smacking serves the strength to spread.
And impel your emotions to grow in dread.

Avoid those who induce stress at a distance.
Who twists a grin into a gesture of riddance?
Wrap yourself in a quilt of affection and rely
And witness your spirit soar across the sky.

Premium Member The Other Red Riding Hood

Many know of only one Red Riding Hood
She has a similar story, in many books
Her endings are similar
The wolf is either destroyed or banished.

The Red Riding Hood I know has changed the ending
She is a lone wolf, and as such, she adores furry wolves.
She has befriended the wolves, and is a pack member.
When I hear her howling at the moon I smile.
Knowing that she has only allowed a chosen few into her inner circle.
I feel honored to be her pack mate.

Premium Member If We Were Immortal

If we were immortal,
in God’s inner circle,
time being on our side,
in tranquil joy we’d glide.

If we were immortal,
sans desire, we’d sparkle;
having no cause to fear,
holding gift of life dear.

If we were immortal,
we’d widen love’s portal,
treading gently on earth,
joyous in bubbling mirth.

If we were immortal,
each heartbeat, a chortle,
transformed as living light,
shining bright, day and night.

Premium Member Raw and Intimate Hardness

to be honestly succinct

is as yet our reflex instinct

driven by ego or is it love inked

— Contemplation by Unseeking Seeker

RAW AND INTIMATE HARDNESS

driven to the truth
bottomed out
blessed beyond belief
by love
but if love
drives you into madness
a reflex of raw and intimate hardness
is love laid out on the cold sheets
only warmed by your imagination
no room for anyone else
in your bed
not in sexual satisfaction
but of life, i speak

did you cling, like warm clothes
on a cold day…those intrepid lips
and entanglement of deep romance -
were they the only thing you lived for

your muscle-atrophy
has no room
except for an inner circle
who crave your attention
always have -
did you miss the highway billboard

the intimate honesty
of your love
played out on nonstop video
and in blips to close kin

the madness seeks
an escape route
fashioned with idols

nonspecific
not ideal or realistic

Perfectly Mismatched

We are a perfectly mismatched set.
We share contradictory alliances in Peace
We conquer complimentary foes in War

You quell the unnerving anxiety that haunts me
And I haunt the quelling worry that unnerves you.

My emotional lows keep your mental highs grounded, well-balanced, and sane
While your emotional ups grant my mental downs the conviction, confidence and trust needed to take flight.
.
May the discrepancies we harmonize bring the peculiarities identified by our inner circle
because they misunderstand
the eccentricities that keep us identically opposite.

We will thrive in eternal impermanence, blissful in our gloom,
satisfied with our greed

We are a perfectly mismatched set

The Second Book

Indulge the senses
There are five of those
Evaluate the inner circle of friends
There is no in between
Guide the feelings
There is a navigator
Monitor the progress
There is a scale
Am I true leader
Leadership is earned

Is this the song am I suppose to sing
Muttering in amazement
Is this the outfit am I suppose to wear
Giggling being naughty
Am I a scary cat

Nurture the uniqueness
There is differentiation
Grow the inner self
There is diversity
Strategy is the dream
There is you
Modify the personality
There is a sequence to be followed
Am I a true believer
Belief is trusting

Letter To a Poet Who Texted My Girlfriend

Dear poet
I saw your lies written on a piece of paper
Wrapped in a beautiful brown envelope
Those sugar coated words all in black
Symbolizing your love for another man's love

Dear poet
Yesterday was valentine day
The day you wrote messages from your soul
Hoping to smile deeply within a woman’s body
I saw your insincerity pouring out like a fountain

Dear poet
I saw your skills in perfecting your craft
It ran me through the inner circle of my life
Those romantic words used to serve her appetite
Though she smiled, but it brought sadness strolling in my heart

Dear poet
I saw poetry professing love on heavenly color
The ink dripped lovely words on fruitful leaves
Denoting performance factor of a poet’s heart
How sadly it was to read the brokenness of a man

Dear poet
Even though the ink is your lifetime girlfriend
But find a place to throw your emotions
Or maybe keep it for another anthology
Your love could be accepted and published

Getting In the Inner Circle

His name was Pimlico Missler
His wife was Uhora Missler
If you happen to stumble
across his show
Mark his showmenship
Analyze his value from
The point of view of
Someone who's over eager
To be right, and someone
more eager to be wrong or
wronged.
Then are your interest from
being more equipped
Or have you developed an angle
To find fault in everything done
To make sense of your
Current and reaccurring points
Of view.
Something someone told me
Sounds like someway for
Someone to speak I'll of you
Or to create a means for
Some sort of drama to accure.
Taking down banners might mean
The club meeting is over
But does it mean your importance
Is so significant that you are
The only one putting up those
Banners.
Are your causes significant enough
To create your interest.

FRAGMENTS 8

Dance the dream dance
In the inner circle of flight
As fancy meets fantasy
In the gyrations of emergent
Visions and curious delights
Where flamboyant laughter spills
As ghostly unseen faces oscillate
Into streams of madness
That recoil in the mystic breeze

Believe in yourself always, be brave always

Empathy and kindness be your muses

Young at heart, keep some giggles inside

Own failure, then rise up, be resilient

Unique, only one of you in the world

Thankful, gratitude are desirable attributes

Integrity is a solid base of character

Family, friends and god be your inner circle

Understand your purpose, live a meaningful life

Love yourself, love others, just love, love, love

Premium Member Love Is

Love is the commitment based on respect
To forge an alliance in ways abstract
When two hearts unite as life's architect
Their souls intertwine by a karmic pact

Knitting the fabric of their daily life
Blissful togetherness its foundation
Nurturing exchanges devoid of strife
Each other the object of affection

Unblemished trust is the almighty glue
The strength to surmount any obstacle
Promise to be loyal faithful and true
Protecting fiercely our inner circle

Sometimes we're needing to work through baggage
To heal within a small child with damage

The Spin Game
or
Thumbing the Scale
Thoughts for 1/28/2016
Written: by Tom Wright

I’ve dined from both sides of this pancake,
And it’s all about acquiring our desires.
Many are inclined to twist things
In order to gain a competitive advantage;

I’ve been party to many “dog and pony” shows,
And expected to suck it up
Like a hungry Hog slurping from a trough;

On whatever level of life I’ve been found,
The behind the scene politicking had been done.
A board or inner circle had usually decided,
How the vote would go long before it was taken.

That causes me to question, what is transparency?
What is honesty, what is truth?

When casting nay votes it has opened me up to all sorts of criticism.
But never face to face.
