If we were immortal, in God’s inner circle, time being on our side, in tranquil joy we’d glide. If we were immortal, sans desire, we’d sparkle; having no cause to fear, holding gift of life dear. If we were immortal, we’d widen love’s portal, treading gently on earth, joyous in bubbling mirth. If we were immortal, each heartbeat, a chortle, transformed as living light, shining bright, day and night. 18-April-2022 If I Were Immortal Poetry Contest Sponsor: Anoucheka Gangabissoon

A person is body and soul. The soul is immortal. If the body were also immortal there would be no place where to stay on earth.

That’s why we’d transmute as living light!
