2018

I don’t know if it happened quite yet.
The tinkering that caused the roar.
The gruff feeling in my mind.
I think it happened around that time, maybe.

The diagnosis came at a funky, furious time.
I languished and laughed.
So the year became memorable.
Not from swimming on the beach or anything.

No, not a beach.
Or anything gentle and nice.
The first year.
The year everything felt scratched up…

I do have that diagnosis now.
A nodding feeling.
I didn’t do much that summer.
In 2018.

2018.
I got torn up laughingly good.
And so that year imparted a piece of itself.
So I’m thankful.

Premium MemberJust for You

My love for you didn't come by how
  I felt
But it was in my heart by His impartation
Then I felt its pulsating surge overhelmn
  Me
I wouldn't let go again like a delirium on high
  It kept coming
I never wondered how, and never wavered
Because it was heart imparted
Then I knew we were meant to be for life
25 years and still counting it has not diminished
Its worth is invaluable more than gold and diamonds
This is for you, my babe Ibilate, my one and only love.

A Bright Star in the Black Night

And Skadi had her way much snow today
Imparted volunteer job hopes soar high.
Each Thor’s day , a shining star in a black sky
Orange in my throat and gob smacked, what to say?
And never let the blighters beat you down
And the sawbones mention you cannot heal .
And show them I work with plenty of zeal
I am cook too at the depot uptown.
The doctors state see you are strong ,
We think you are weak ,die in a care home.
My star is dimming do I fight or take flight?
My job like an void vessel I felt dead
This must be the rehabs typical syndrome
Hard to feud with sawbones reason-they’re right
My mood tastes like bad lime pulled down by dread.

I'm an Afrikan

#I_am_an_Afrikan
Rose from dusty arid land of these great mountains and forests, guided and quenched by life breeding rivers and lakes, my mind and head kept at landscapes soo nurturing and grinding, the rare breeding ancestorline of blackmen. Breathed into my nostrils and system, is sharp crafted wisdom, meant to keep me sane and in perspective

vested in me, is compassion, humility and diginity, the great inheritance imparted to me by my forefathers. I speak in staticness and great courage and boldness in my voice, unwaveringly saying"I'm a afrikan"

weakness and cowardness make way, whenever I ascend podium of expressing my whereabouts, intergrity is what warms my mind and voice and I feel elevated beyond measures, Afrika is my begining and my ending, Afrika! Land of my forefathers, great origin, reach and strong culture and heritage, then who stand to question me, when Afrika is my breathing land, dare not to say how nor why for I am an Afrikan

Wings to fly

Imagination taking flight to the past,
I see her making equal lots of kites
To divide among us
In her motherly logic, no fuss,
And wearing on face some festive air
I recall she telling me, here’s your share.

Today I realize
The logic of that act so wise
Of yours, Mother--
How with a pinch of fairness and kindness
You had our life filled with sweetness.

Today I realize:
They were not just kites you’d given,
Given you had sky-full heaven,
Instead of kite thread,
You’d given wings to soar ahead,
Not material things,
But whole of joyful springs.

Reflections |23.01.2025| childhood, mother, remember

Poet’s note: On 14 Jan, a kite festival was celebrated in Gujarat. Seeing the winter sky filled with colourful kites, my mind took me to a long-lost childhood memory lane-- how mother organized things around a big family with limited income and yet depriving us with nothing worthwhile. How with few words she imparted unto us lessons of life to last a lifetime.

Premium MemberI've whispered to a raindrop

I've spoken to a raindrop; It listened so intently in its special way
A life so blessed that I never want to end; my only wish is to stay
I've whispered to a raindrop; it offered me seclusion in its special way
Of my thoughts darkest collusion, a demon’s fire it would offer to slay
I've confided in a raindrop; It held onto my hand in its special way
Shared all my tears as they're hidden safely, my secrets discreetly stored away
I've divulged into a raindrop; it touched my salted cheeks in its special way
Special is the way, it asked me to walk with it, while it down poured for a day
I've disclosed into a raindrop; what my heart wouldn't dare in its special way
Next time I see the storm, I will listen, never leaking what it has to say
I've imparted to a raindrop; its value proposition is its special way
Within this budding liquid friendship our love is so much more fluid per se
I've lay bare into a raindrop; dysphoria concealed in a special way
So thankful, I am for all this rain, clouding another wonderful birthday

Amid Disarray

A cynical never asks himself,
" How a miracle can ever happen when everybody
goes on without faith through their hopeless day? "
I attest this truth with disbelief!

Faithful can pray constantly with bowed head,
hoping God listened to their plea to all spoken words;
how disappointed they are when nothing ever happens:
and amid disarray they their hope turns cold!

Nobody understand how favor is imparted fairly,
God chooses the ones deserving His endless mercy;
the angry preacher with a harsh voice condemns sinners
who don't cleanse their souls with any repenting tears!

Look for drastic signs that foretell events to come,
be ready for what can and will change Man's destiny;
God's word is unbreakable, his promise declares love:
believers are patient and profess their faith devotedly!

Premium MemberJesus In The Rural Soil

Sweating in the rustic dusts of Nazareth, you laboured.
As a farm labourer, ironsmith, weaver, and shepherd,
You ploughed with the peasants, who were curious yet loving.
They were teachers from whom wisdom, like clear streams, flowed, gushing.

You walked, pondering over the Sea of Galilee.
Where fishermen struggled like lilies amidst barberry,
The breeze, amalgamated with the Abba message, blew.
With you, the fraternity of the folks, day by day, grew.

You read about all philosophies and theologies.
Small or great, each one therein had unique ideologies.
The rich, though they seemed strong, bent in the winds of faith like reeds.
You held all of them in the same balance, mending their creeds.

Each herb, shrub, plant, tree, blossom, fruit, and weed imparted wisdom.
In the soul of each seed, the lord of lords founded the kingdom.

Premium MemberForgiveness In Kind

Forgiveness is there only one way
‘You did me wrong…l forgive you, it’s ok’

Or can forgiveness happen without consent
Never to excuse the persons true intent

With time indifferent to both person and event
Thoughts of them no longer present

If reminded and the incident enters your mind
No anger ,angst ,negativity of any kind

Though never to accept what was imparted on you
So saying ‘I forgive you ….just wouldn’t be true’

I believe this to be forgiveness in kind
If peace and contentment reside in your mind

Dear Mom,

As always, you are truly right
The world has lost sight
Of what truly matters—
Genuine human connection, kindness..

Indeed, we've all become disconnected
From not only each other but nature itself.
Like a shadow cast upon a wet painting
The future is losing, present gaining.

I noticed, the race is always on
It's not where we stumble, but where we're bound.
I've seen the straw, her flare is gone
Her words, once solace, now a machine gun.

As you wisely imparted
Look not where you fall, but where you tripped
My ship was wrecked, my heart was stripped
Stripped of true emotions, left with hate.

True —time, like the tide, waits for none
In mere months after you're gone, I've transitioned
The man you foresaw, weathering storms
Now glimpses the shore, a new future reborn.

Premium MemberNazarene

Mingled with the rural soil of Nazareth, he laboured
He played with the rustics, who were quarrelsome yet loving.
Farmers, carpenters, ironsmiths, weavers, and the shepherd
These were teachers from whom wisdom, like clear streams, flowed, gushing

He pondered along the coast of the Sea of Galilee.
Where the breeze amalgamated with saline sea scent blew
Where fishermen's strife had been a daily reality
In him, the friendliness of the sea folks, day by day, grew.

He found the philosophies and theologies of books
Put into practice by the Rustics in thoughts, words, and deeds
The affluent, on the other hand, seemed cunning and crooks.
Nature held them all in equipollence, mending their creeds.

Each herb, shrub, plant, tree, bloom, fruit, and weed imparted him wisdom.
He drew, by his love, each creature towards Abba's kingdom.
