A PIOUS PACHYDERMIC POSE
             (A Haiku Duo)

Big head, knees, and legs;
A huge body, kneeling, as if
In genuflection:-

Long ivory-bound trunk,
Graciously bent down, as if
In pious prayer:-

A glossy black spiral

Early September in our apartment corridor 
Echoes from the snake moving along the path
Splashes of light from the tide in your eyes 
A painter creating a glossy black spiral

dawn blinks—
     saffron spilling
         over ridge-lines marigold
             plaiting the first veins of leaves

         air tastes of dew and oak
    

Rose Moon in Bloom

Eclipsed hips part, unearthing
a rose moon in bloom,
opal sighs glimmer, 
ruby heat spills, sitting
bodies ablaze in molten embrace.

She don't blink

my block got bones
made of brick and breath.
she bleed through cracked hydrants,
catch cigarette ash like snowflakes,
and see like a fly to death.
her ribs? fire escapes-
bent, rust-bit, bruised.
kids dangle off ‘em like loose teeth,
their joy just one cracked step from falling.
she don’t blink.
she sees the crackhead two buildings over
lean so far out the window
it look like

Midnight Sun

Last night we danced in sweet romance,
we burned like the midnight sun.
Your wanton kiss was utter bliss,
our hearts fused, then beat as one.

By candle-light I held you tight,
lust played our favorite song.
Our bodies moved, sizzled and grooved,
seduction's magic so strong.

Our two minds raced as my lips traced
the smooth contours of your skin.
Fingers kneaded as eyes

The day has its sun,
And the night, its moon;
I’m blessed to have you,
Each day and its night:-

The cosmic beauty,
Reflecting the shiny glow
Of God’s divine light:-
As you are the ever glowing
Sun and moon of my heart,
May I likewise be of your heart:-

lord
i
see
statues
of
all
the
great men
who
sang out loud
are
only
made
of
drifting clouds

Coveted entrance opens again for the sunrays 
Whisper with the tinges of clouds succeeds 
Coats of fog and moats of hesitation dropped 
Sunbeams set to get into the tidal summit

Unwavering Before Eternity

Death's Shadow creeps across the wall 
Where memories of triumph Stand tall 
Each scar tells stories of battles won 
Each breath echoes choice made, undone.

The ledger of our days is closed 
Accounted for in every pose 
No whispered no apologies sought 
No trembling knees, no faltering thought. 

Before the throne of judgment high 
We stand

I who love how language feels 
Cannot see your thoughts to know,
How to ask what you conceal.

Perfection is fine to a point,
An everlasting urge
but I’d never breathe again,

The exquisite princess of maiden joy

Through shattered glass, I see my past
Reflected fragments of what didn't last
Like ripples on a midnight sea
Each piece reveals a part of me.

The phoenix rises from the deep
Where shadows dance and secrets sleep
With every step, I claim my ground
