A Leaf

Meditating on the season, I
took notice of a leaf's dramatic
fall -- a fascinating journey: a
quarter past first marvelous budding~
soon unfolding into towering
presence...now~ dynamic
parting: flamboyant waving,
a curtsy and leap,
a spin with colorful grin,
supported by daffy current -- 
playful rocking, showy gliding -
faking downing, direct sliding
then again rising, as a royal nose -- 
at last arriving at

As Clean as a Whistle

The park is a dance of colour
as leaves pirouette and waltz
around brazen, undressed trees.
November, and the sun sits weakly
even rather streakily in the sky
while I fold myself quietly
into this soothing, autumnal scene.

BUT….. a shock  of a screeching whistle announces
the arrival of Miss Bossy-Glossy Wellington Boots
and her thigh-high energetic, pointer dog.

I searched through and through just to find it.
Looked among varying variables, while holding my love's coefficients to multiply with.
I summed up my expressions, ready to find the term
that could be my constant, in the midst of the unknown.

I believed in her geometric prowess.
With the leap of faith, we passed the "sine's," "cosine's," and "tangent's"

The moon's quiet sorrw

They, without a trace of shame,
painted their hearts with the crimson blood of their lovers’ lips.
And I… my only share was the cold blue of the moon,
spilled carelessly,
like a tear severed from the sky,
upon my cheeks.

Those drops sank into the ridges of my heart,
painting my eyes with a lifeless gleam,
and the moon’s quiet sorrow wound

The feelings we feel

Happiness  is like waking up to see 
my favourite dishes for breakfast;
toasted bread and fried  eggs.
Getting to school early and scoring As on all my tests.

Then I come home after a long stressful day at school.
Taking a bath and settling down to watch my favourite TV show;
just to see... it has been taken

The moon, luscious drop,
soothing the chaff of day.

The stars, flocks of grazing 
glitters -- heavenly sheep
tallied till the dawn of
a new and hopeful morn -- 

Earth, making fond concentric
circles; beloved sun, 
her prime and central spark -- 

All is right, with God’s light and dark.

The Thrill Of A Late Summer

visions of children shrieking on clogged shores,
warm swirling gusts topple gaunt sand castles,
games galore thrive in weather dry and bright,
family fun fair gasp and sheer delight,
yet summer’s warm hue festoon tapers off,
whilst journeyed beehive swarm near blue lagoon,
dip their toes in sunny moss fleck torrents,
others seize their madcap visceral thrill,
from dashing down mint green meadows
