I don't know
that love has a
bucket list,

a program best
to follow...and
writers do seem often
inclined more amorous
of
text...

especially us poets, flag
carriers of the heart,

seldom an emotion
not expressed
by pen in part

like an accountant
tallying feelings
numbers his bread
and butter

one has to wonder
if the physical and
the sheet ever entirely
meet

did the composition
a real body fullest greet

or sometimes is writing
Love's happy-face hiding
fearful retreat

“how much do I love thee?”
I have not read Browning's
reply in equally great verse...

were I the beneficiary
my cry of joy would
blush the very sky
a splash of passion never
to be rivaled nor dimmed

for all the world to see
therefore, Elisabeth
was it so deeply also
Robert's eternity

was such fond declaration
the height of shared human
affection
or mere sonnet of romantic
poetic perfection

the heart
too often
a heart of letters

How Do I Love Thee

How do I love thee, my heart is filled with joy
With every stroke of love, I feel just like a boy
Remember when we met, I had no words to say
My heart was beating fast, I'll never forget that day
And oh the dream I had before we actually met
A beautiful dream of you and I and the timing God had set
I did not understand why I would dream of you
But God had a plan and I didn't have a clue
A few years went by with the dream stuck in my mind
And when I finally met you, I knew it was a sign
This is how I love thee, let me count the ways
The love just keeps getting stronger with all the passing days.

"How do I love thee? Let me count the ways."
                           by Elizabeth Barrett Browning

~~*~~

I loved you from the very first glance,
from the first dance I was in a love trance;
when you spoke it was the sweetest depart.

I loved you then and it was for all my days;
and each day was a passionate romance.

I loved you from the great depths of my heart;
and I promised God we would never part.

I loved you 'cause you made me smile and laugh;
many words I wished for your forever epitaph.

I loved you with the love of an entwining maze,
I loved you and never regret taking a chance;
I loved- and death will never break us apart,
I LOVE you, though two made one is now half.

HOW DO I LOVE THEE?

How do I love thee? 'Til death us do part
I love thee from the farthest reaches of my heart

I love thee as roses love sunshine
I love thee because God allowed you to be mine

I love thee more now than I did from the first
I love thee so much that my heart could burst

I love thee like sea shells love the seashore
I love thee now and forevermore

I love thee from the farthest reaches of my heart
How do I love thee? 'Til death us do part

How Do I Love Thee

How do I love thee, I don't know
But I can feel, my love makes me positive
As positive as I am the spring, a bird flying
Singing in the azure sky, full of freedom

How do I love thee, I cannot say
But I know clearly, my love feeds me sweetly
As sweet as honey, a bee Lingering
Working hard in the flowers, full of fragrance

How do I love thee, I can say
That you make me live with love
How do I love thee, I can feel
That you make me a beautiful dream

I wish I spoke in fancy English tone,
And not this southern-bred American;
So more politely I could pick a bone,
When snooty judgments come from Isle of Man;
I wish existed ways to turn back time,
To teach a special friend about a war,
Where young colonies won their right to rhyme,
And be subjected cruelly nevermore.
It seems my sonnets, jealous limericks,
Of twenty words that often speak of poo,
For stones too weak decide instead on sticks,
To beat much better lines to residue.
Of course, I’m kidding, Jan, I hope that’s CLEAR,
It’s not your fault you write in foreign AIR.

**That'll learn her for placing my brilliant poem
about passing gas in public 39th out of 40 entries.

How Do I Love Thee

How do I love thee?
For my hands are blood splattered
My scars are deeply battered
How do I love thee?
With sunken tears in my eyes,
the Unrequited love- lost in paradise.
How do I love thee ?
for my lips are intoxicated with desire
lust has fed my soul with fire
how do I love thee ?
when there is no love in my heart
candid emotions expressed through my art
Tell me
How do I love thee?

How Do I Love Thee In Response

How do I love thee in response.
Know there is not better way.
Such love does sour.
Oh to avail such a plight.
What a splendid ace.
It’s more than can be said.
Fills a beautiful need.
Knowing what is right.
The best does rise.
Beyond all strength to endure.
Knows no greater space in life.
Only to abide beyond.
Shall not faint.
In all grace.
An empathy of Love divine.

How Do I Love Thee

Oh my darling, such poetry you write,
Your words whisper to my heart.
My love, let us take flight into the night,
For how can I be without my counterpart?
We embrace upon soft pillar of cloud,
Your eyes sparkle with each twinkle of star.
The silence can often seem so loud,
Magical when together, but that is the way we are!
Hands caressing, feeding each others desperate desire,
To own and satisfy each others temple.
You are fuel to my passionate fire,
And to be away from you is never that simple!
So with a heavy heart, I write and answer your sonnet,
And my thirst quenched by your poetry.
As I toast to our "love", and sip my tonic,
I think of your words, "how I love thee".........

How do I love thee, let me count the ways
Now give an ear to hear what my Heart says
Give audience to Mind to speak at will
My Soul will testify and won't be still
I love thee!

Heart:
I love thee with emotion's thundering dance
With passion's stormy show and calm romance
I love thee with each beat that life bestows
The strength of love I feel with each day grows
I Love Thee!

Mind:
I love thee with discernment's guiding light
Revealed to me are weaknesses that blight
I love thee for I know though thorns may sting
Your beauty is song I choose to sing
I love Thee!

Soul:
I love thee with the lasting hand of time
When life is done, I'll love in heaven's clime
I love thee with immortal constancy
For you're my all in all, my sovereignty
I Love Thee!

Recounted are the ways: heart, mind, and soul
My love, you are the one that makes me whole!
I Love Thee!

True love deepens when two souls recognize
Each other in the alluring moment
That serves as an introduction event
To unite two strangers with a fixed gaze

Stars and constellations spark vividly
Among millenniums and centuries
The flowers buds bloom with colorful hues
Witnessing a pure love that is lovely

Days and nights passed in the lily valleys
Wind whispers as a reverberation
Sounding like a name pronunciation
Transcending forevermore the gateways

The memories get imprinted in the skin
Never forgotten and leaving within

This love is pure and for you alone.
This love held precious in a sacred realm.
This love is comfort worthy to be called home.
This love is a jewel and yours to own.
How deep is this love? There is no measure.
How deep the yearning that your eyes embrace?
How deep the meaning to share its treasure?
How deep are the roots when hearts interlace?
My love's a bollard to your tethered heart.
My love's a soft feather on your soul's wings.
My love's a fragrant scent that won't depart.
My love's a musical note the heart sings.

I shall embrace you with my love so strong.
I shall caress you as the years grow long.

How Do I Love Thee

How do I love thee?
Let me count the ways.
I love thee like the ice-cubed world that has been dropped in Vodka,
splashing Pink Nuvo
Freezing the sands of time,
The Northern sky with the color of sunsets.
I love thee
Thy soul nude, drunk, and mute beneath the Aurora Borealis...
It's mystic music.
I love thee in here
Beyond skin and ribcages
all wrapped up in a cocoon,
Breaking through
Sprouting in butterfly season,
My dear Morpho Menelaus
Fluttering my sky into the Mariana Trench
the deepest blue... The deepest.
I love thee
my most quiet need to remain gasped in sighs full of awe.
I love thee burning into my vine green veins like the furnace of a forest fire.
I love thee in and out of breath.
With lungs full of asthmatic.
I love thee,
Thy love has sunken and engraved it's print into my back dimples.
It made its way into the marks my skin refuses to forget
Thy love has given my scars meaning,
it has made them beautiful.
I love thee.
With no words
No ink,
But simple and majestic as a candle's fire blowing in in the dark
Yet so present as the aroma of vanilla on skin and the thick of smoke.
I love thee.

How Do I Love Thee

How do I love Thee?
How do I love thee, let me count the ways.
It stops at one because I'll love you to the day I die.
No words can tell you how much I love you.
No numbers Can be given to you for I'm the only one that will love you.
So how much do I love thee, just remember you're my Number One.
