Fruitlet is dangling on branches of trees.
Trees’ branches bearing leaves.
Leaves, green, yellow or brown dwindling.
Dwindling due to vicious strong winds raging.
At the tree’s foot, rotten leaves and fruit snooze.
Leaves snoozing dead fertilize the earth.
Earth to receive falling fruit to break.
To break and deliver her stone alive.
Alive, stone will sprout and feed on dead meadow.
Dead meadow grass will fodder fruitlet’s stone.
Stone to spring young from rotten ovary;
Ovary’s filth to produce a clean shrub.
Shrub, cruel humans will chopper.
Chopper to assassinate mother trees.
Mother trees who are the ecosystem.
Ecosystem agonizing human’s vicious attitudes;
Vicious attitudes of us hominids shatter the lot.

shrinking within self
bend like early hominids ---
dwarfs of dependence

I am my Facebook page
A list of lists
I am a picture with a filter
A tag in someone else's post
I am my SAT score
An expensive page with bullet points
I am my resume
A copy/paste letter of intent
I am my gym membership
A stack of metal I pick up to feel powerful
I am the downward dog
A first place medal in a race against no one
I am my credit score
A bank account that will never be full
I am a debt report
A numerical risk and reward
I am my insurance plan
A walking blood bag: Type O -
I am homeostatic, for now
Organ donor printed on plastic
I am a *****sapien
An old primate chasing insects
I am evolution
The self-proclaimed best of the hominids
Existence evaporating in loves empty extinguishing,
Resistance resonating amidst forthcoming futile exile;
Distance desecrating dreams dormant diminishing,
Subsistence sacrificial amongst hominids hostile.
*** *** *** *** ***
Disappearing divinity divergent of idols imaging,
Fearing forever fading loves upon vacant voids;
Appearing apparitions abandoned forever finishing,
Domineering demons dispatching destructive droids.

On this Day of Christmas
At a window’s glass in my house
I stand to see in the sun a dress that dries
To be worn for Christmas
On this Day of Christmas
Tis a marvellous occasion with no fuss
As masses everywhere amass
To create preference around a glass
On this Day of Christmas
Everything is nothing than a bliss
For no pass on grass breaks a glass
People miss and mess for a bless
On this Day of Christmas
Loss in cash makes friends kiss
At a place around a glass
Songs of blessings in masses we hear
Tis a special Day of Christmas
As Angels also amass in mass to bless
This new king who’s born
To make the light swallow the darkness
On this marvellous Christmas Day
Peace, happiness and brightness not to miss
For parties here and there have no stress
Cos God has dwelt amongst us hominids
That’s all I guess about Christmas
Poem by Mugisho N Theophile
Our ancestors
lived short lives
They made tools
out of rock
and images of the hunt
on cave walls
The history of
mankind is an
ongoing tale
For ever since early hominids
began to leave the forest
it has been an
uphill fight
The years have seen emdires rise
and fall
Kings and Queens d
living their lives
and as we all must
Doesn't it seed that the years
have not been kind to our genus?
WE now have the power to end the entire story
If we reach back into our past d
We may well find
the answer to our
dilemma
Before the first weapon was mad
Early man knew what love was
We must find a way
to capture the
spirit of our ancestors
and use it to prevent
the end of our species
It has been put in classic terms
"We must love one another or die"
in the basement is your first color television
known for its recurring static and bent antenna
and broken VCR
extraterrestrials climb in through the high window
that doesn't open
but they've been here for thousands of years
they were the storks that delivered humans
during the time there was a gap in hominids
between neanderthals and us
they know why the antimatter and matter
don't cancel each other out
they're responsible for the Easter Island rock statues
for the hieroglyphs of machines and aircraft
and suddenly
your color television jolts on
to live news of 1939
AFRICA
O beautiful woman,
Africa,
Admirable woman of
the tropic,
O lustre of the
earth bathed with
sunlight,
Today and ever
I bask in your warm
delightful bosom!
Black woman, fine
nature’s artwork
From primeval
antiquity;
Well-endowed ‘scape,
heaved backside
Sitting on a vast
plateau
Washed from all
sides by
Lakes, seas and
oceans!
Black beauty,
enrobed in lush
greenery,
Crowned with the
star;
Round her neck and
waist line
Adorned with
precious coral,
Gold, pearl, diamond
and sapphire!
Oko mi, whose
fecundity
Has flourished the
earth with life
Where faunae find
their natural home
And hominids take
their root!
O Mami, let your
soil be where
I spring up
And my remains form
your dust
On which aliens
would ever tramp
To behold your
charm!
Itsoghole.
Defiant hominids embraced in rumination,
Hostile and corrosive to nature,
God Bless the disillusioned we !!
The dreamer
Lies buried in the hemisphere
Like hominids nested in calcium
Upon outstretched shovel
Vermillion corridors pounce in theatrical unfolding
Its all shadows and graves say
Those cliffside with buckets of fear
While I clawed suddenly the dichotomy came clear
Now I'm hijacking lotuses from the other side
The right atmospheric conditions can animate your bones.
I tell ya,
Dinosaurs rising, ichthyosaurs rising,
Rise of the hominids no more, eh?
Resurrection ain't a fool's business, fellow, ol' pal,
Sonny boy. My boy,
Reanimation is a booming industry,
What with all these dinosaurs and ancient mummies reaching and tightening their buns,
Winching their skin on.
Drink that elixir first, boyo.
Keeps ya from fossilizing in the first place.
Them creatures all wanna be looked at good again,
But I says, I says pickle yourself in the first place,
Never lose that spark.
You don't have to wait for a magical scientific chemical power combo,
If you were preserved in the first place.
I dream that tonight I am a raccoon
And it is here in this body that I store the notion
That my sadness will last forever,
In the treasury of unclaimed awareness,
Where pits of the peaches could never re-sprout...
I dig deep into the indent of a Denver ravine,
Gnaw knee-high into the hollow ridges of hominids and their homelands,
Belly-wade in bottomless mud waters west of wherever they don’t go, though
Lurid in my languor now, I laminate my slick turf onto Continental limestone slabs
And, then, all-at-once, at noon, just like that,
I call it a day.
A tired little raccoon
Can’t bear without a rest
Through the midday...
I arise as the coon falls under.
Reclaiming Human Sorrow, my Wrong-Headed Brother,
Waxing thunderously, now, in the mind’s cluttered cage
In this day of coffee and chit-chat and left-turns,
I’ll dream tonight I am a raccoon.
So that we may both get out and roam.
