Creepy planters from Delaware town
Their heads all ugly, weird smile or frown.
I cannot believe how annoying they look.
As strange as anything in any horror book.
Oh, they are yours I say to the artist with a smile.
Pretending they are not hideously strange and vile.
The artist is not fooled; she is my great-Aunt Candy Keen.
I make them for people I despise she said, people who are mean.

Sunday softly sweetly swinging,
Freely flying forward, fabulous fun,
She’s Smiling Seeing sunshine,
Happily helping her healthy heart,
Wife weeping woefully,
Cannot control constant crying,
Hideously hiding her hurt,

earth turned bald.
skyscrapers loom bold.
waste hideously piled.
toxins profusely spilled.
nature cruelly defiled.
we stand greatly appalled!

I put two garbage bags of junk into my husband’s car trunk.
I am ready to start filling up the lonely green dumpster.
Most of the year he sits forlornly with two or three measly bags.
I am off school for eight weeks; so I am giving him some food.
He is green and hideously ugly, but a terrific landmark.
Because we live in an earth home, people do not see our house.
They fly past our driveway, not noticing it either.
Sometimes their GPS laughs as they drive back and forth.
“When you see a green dumpster, turn in,” I tell them.
“If you pass a green dumpster, turn around.”
“What kind of place do you live?” They ask me.
“We live in a van, down by the river.”
I delight in saying this.
It reminds me of Chris Farley each time.

There are two famous politicians who hold the stage,
they should be in this year New York's Halloween Parade
to attract huge crowds: they are stuttering Biden and hysterical Harris;
these two have shaped the theatrical perception of two charade clowns!
One is hideously scary, the other is theatrically funny,
America has become a battlefield, a nobody's land:
there's no impenetrable wall to protect this country;
no regard for police, no gun control to stop the blood!
It's a bad time for them to engage in a fierce battle,
this rampant pandemic doesn't discriminate;
who chooses to get the vaccine shot is saved,
who refuses it is someone to be alienated,
going home without a check and feeling miserable,
shouting their inalienable rights that aren't sacred
anymore; alas, they won't transform their fate!
Oh, turn off Fox News: it makes this house rattle!

iron snail scalloped decorative lamp in the evening light
I saw her in the distance and she seemed less bright
I walked quite close and saw a pompous pigeon proud and perky.
She was staring at a distant field, ogling a hideously ugly turkey.
You are way too pretty for that old geezer, I said to the bird.
She pointedly looked my way and said, “Don’t be absurd!”
This surprised me so hard I fell back and hit my head on a branch.
Falling with my salad, losing every scoop of my ranch.
A crow came by and made fun of me, heckling like mad.
If I had not been laughing so hard, it might have been sad.
That’s the last time I try to help a prissy pigeon, believe me.
The last I saw of her, she was flying with a squirrel to a tree.

I was terrified of a Des Moines move
To me this was a big city
I was from a town of three thousand
I did not think people would neighbor there
I had been to New York City once
During the garbage strike
Rats were all over the streets
with their hideously ugly pink tails
And their ugly butt holes
I thought I was going to be moving to a smelly unfriendly place
Being a small-town girl, I had no idea
That a bigger town is just a lot of neighborhoods
Where people neighbor with each other,
just like in small towns.
It was a tremendous relief.
And there was no garbage strike.

Policeman are indeed~
most brave.
Hunting down vicious,
mean, knaves.
I don't have the courage to
hunt down creeps,
As they find officers' lives.
hideously cheap.
They love brutal hatred
and maximim disorder.
These people, will never be my
sisters or brothers.
A society run my looting and
businesses burning?
Oh, Lord, please help stop, their
destructive yearnings.
Each day, bless all the men and
women in blue.
Who go out every and every shift to
project your family and you!.

She laughs like a donkey braying except it’s more annoying.
She tells tall tales so often, her hideously ugly nose has grown.
Bart had never heard Joey say so many mean things about anyone.
Wait until you meet her, he told him. She will seem nice. Don’t believe.
When they reached Joey’s parents’ house a beautiful blonde ran out.
She grabbed Joey, , twirling him around, as if he was a toy top.
This is sister, Joey said as she reached for Bart and gave him a hug.
Bart was enchanted and instantly smitten.
She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.
Why did you tell me all that bad stuff? He asked Joey that evening.
If I had told you the truth about her, would you have believed me?
You mean that your sister is the prettiest,
most enthusiastic girl in the world?
The best friends grinned at each other, feeling closer than ever before.

Open each chamber, assiduously
Load each bullet, meticulously
Center targets in sight, fastidiously
Pull the trigger, punctiliously
Mow down innocents, detachedly
Grin in triumph, hideously
Undermine freedom, inevitably

There could be rats and snakes hiding in here.
Yes, I am talking about asps and cobras, big ones.
Hiding under the bed, no, not in my head, under my bed.
Okay, what about way back there, in the darkest corner?
Did you check out THAT corner? My voice is rising. I hear it crack.
Better take my flashlight and look hard this time. No, not in my head.
Under my bed.
Well, no the rat would not be. He is hiding in the closet.
A big gray monster with that hideously ugly pink rat tail.
He is probably under that pile of clothes. Not that pile, the other pile.
It might take you awhile to find him. He’s really sneaky.
Probably eating my new jacket.
Can you read me another story while you are here and can I have
two more cookies? What about a drink of water? I am thirsty.
And I have to go to the bathroom again. No, don’t leave, yet.
If you do, I am a goner. Please leave the flashlight, PLEASE!

It might be a wonderful, beautiful day -
sun shining and sand warm and gleaming underneath your feet.
Someone turns a radio on; you hear sweet music play.
Palm trees sway as if in rhythm to its beat.
Loved ones are with you. Could you feel more complete?
In the midst of life so filled with joy and calm,
you think that melancholy never here could be.
Something changes in the atmosphere. You feel a qualm.
Thirsty for souls, death rolls in hideously. Though you flee,
the tsunami is unstoppable. Many loved ones perish in the sea.

I dreamed of dancing on shards of glass
Then sweeping the mess into a crevasse
I dreamed of a mannequin acting alive
Knowing it yearned to survive and thrive
I dreamed of tying a knot with red string
While watching a hideously fat king thinking
I dreamed of hearing a low-pitched hum
While a lonely hitch hiker stretched out his thumb
It's strange how you just "know" things in a dream
The reasons, the background, the people, the theme
It's odd how you forget, then completely recall
An entire dream from a detail so small

Halloween , The Undead Rise
How did darkness sneak into this room
echoes sounding of agonizing doom
Shrill sounds like chaotic dancing feet
images of stabbed and rotting meat
A dark mist hangs in this musty air
faint cries giving any soul a scare
Thumpings upon the foot of the bed
glimpses of many bloody, mutilated dead
Door opening to view another world
objects across the room savagely hurled
Ghostly apparition floating in the scene
claws so long with face so hideously mean
Wicked laugh coming from under the bed
mangled hand sliding forth , the undead
Smell of death's stinking odor so foul
fear cries to just flee but mind asks how!

With the seriousness of D flat Major
And a purpose hideously grim
My ritual of despair and darkness
Is about to mercilessly begin
The shedding of innocent blood
As I summon a screaming soul
Moans like the organs of Dracul
Rehearsing a satanic goal
The mist, the fog, the moon
Comingle in an unholy alliance
Like the eye of something insidious
Crushing all hope and defiance
The confused victim is before me
Looking at me in disbelief
His gaze turns to my blade
That was forged to bring him grief
I begin to move forward
The way an apparition will float
Like a violation of sovereignty
I put the razor to his throat
This sacrifice must be made
To take me where the demons lurk
Damn, I always cut myself shaving
When I'm getting ready for work
