A broken heart has no hole, yet it bleeds,
So time will heal the wound your hatred breeds.

WHY DO YOU MARRY?

For some, it’s a softer escape
A flight from silence, not quite love
As if a ring alone could mend a soul
Bruised by too many “maybe tomorrows."

To others, it’s help dressed in vows
A lifeline tied to daily needs
To fatten the pig at market day
Turn union into means to feed.

Some whisper “love” with shaky lips
But love to them, what does it mean?
Is it just sighs without the bills
Or bait to catch a selfish dream?

Why do you marry, tell me this
If the night still bores you
If you believe a wedding solves
What truth and time refuse to fake?

Mouthless

I have seen a lot in this life,
The only thing I haven't seen is that which doesn't exist,
I have seen a lot in this life,
That which my mouth cannot explain.

Tell us what you saw Mr. Stephen,
What is it you saw that Troubles you,
Did you see the rainbow or seven colours of madness,
Tell us Mr. Ekemezie what exactly you saw?

I saw people I saw inhumanity,
I saw heartlessness in-love with wickedness,
I saw bitterness wedding greediness,
Callousness came to the wedding wearing injustice.

I saw evil ruling the universe,
Anger, dishonesty and falsehood are there with her,
I saw a sick earth where everything goes,
A world full of oppression and strife,
No humanity at all which keeps me speechlessly mouthless.

Take Me Home

Take Me Home
to the cages of ur arms
trap our happiness inside me until my lungs
can no longer fill with my own hatred
Find my hands
And remind me
What a true home can feel like
Take me home

Premium Memberthrilled to see the hatred go

She was thrilled to be in the nightgown commercial
When the rain fell, the photographer said let’s not give up
She had no idea what this would mean to her career
She danced, frolicked and pretended to love the rain
Feeling like a fake, a poser, wondering when it would be over
The photographer kept snapping photos.
She was getting miffed.
It was cold water.
Difficult to pretend now.
The photo session was a huge success.
It launched her career.
She became a mega star, and was in high demand.
Her salary went from five figures to six figures.
She stopped resenting the photographer.
Glad to let go of the hatred, since they were married.

Silence of the West

Clouds of smoke billowed over ruined buildings

That once were homes safe and welcoming.

Schools where children were learning,

Hidden now from view by dust clouds billowing.

Out of the dust men came with guns began to fire,

Indiscriminate in who they killed mothers, fathers.

Such a wailing of grief rose to the sky above,

Whence no one cared or heard no love.

Who has the right to murder the seed of a nation,

And showing no conscience or even a tear,

Spreading death and abject fear,

There are no messiahs riding to rescue,

Premium MemberMy hatred weaves into verses like a serpent of smoke

My hatred weaves into verses like a serpent of smoke,
I am a sad poet who bathes his pen in blood and shadows,
I seek my reason in the past, in those days that seem never to die,
And memories are my muses, ghosts nesting in my soul.
My hatred grows when I uncover my scars,
Turning them into fresh wounds that refuse to heal,
A poet of pain, playing roles that trap me in snares,
I try to navigate from darkness towards a flickering light.
My hatred swallows me when my words are misunderstood,
I am seen as a captive soul, yet I seek my way out,
Fragments of poetry writing about pain and wounded love,
The pain that remains, deeply rooted like a bitter seed.
My hatred stretches over pages, a veil of trauma and fear,
I relive the moments that haunt me, weary of their burden,
But the words flow, unceasing, like a river of blood and pain,
For this is all I know, an endless source of emotions.
In the silence of the night, I tell myself that perhaps one day I'll find peace,
But until then, I remain a sad poet, prisoner of my own verses,
In a universe where pain becomes art, and art becomes liberation,
Always seeking the path to light, beyond the shadows within me.

Rage and Hatred

Raw, unfiltered anger, it’s all that I know. Constantly
Aggravated by worthless pieces of scum that I struggle
Getting off of my shoes. A nasty glare, a hostile retort,
Everything and anything can, and will, fan the flame.

After the infliction, what happens then? A swelling, a vicious,
Nasty swelling in the throat. A horrible torrent of flames threatens to
Destroy all in its path. Words of pure venom threaten to spew out.

Harrowing to myself and others, I know this to be so. But, like a sore
Affliction or rash, it never truly dissipates. It only subsides, a dormant ember
That flickers in the inky darkness until some ignorant cretin ignites it again.
Red, red, red! Blinding, sizzling-hot red is all I see. Pure and unfiltered
Evil that only cares for spreading vile hatred and destruction. Suddenly, the
Devil is fatigued. It sinks into the abyss, dormant. But not for long.

Love or hate

How Long a wait will my weak feet endure?
For many years On your snub I still wail.
Yet Veils of lies don’t cover your allure;
Your Elegance I still cannot but hail.

Your words Often fail to convey passion,
Your heart Remains closed off to compassion,
Since you Heave out too little in response,
Within the Arcade of hatred you ensconce.

With Time, you confound me more with your love,
Though Elusive, it descends from above.

Carnival of Hatred

“Come one, come all!”
The hawker summons
Try your luck
On the unmoored Ferris wheel

Hurl a dart
At the Kewpie dolls
Win one for the lady
To consummate the deal

(Chorus)
Intruders in the festival
Outsiders at the gates
Nothing like a carnival
To bring up dormant hates

Where the pavement meets the grass
Behind the stand of funnel cakes,
Someone's getting hornery
Their pants down at their feet

This balloon-tank life
Is more than I can take
This Friday night special
Affords me no relief

(chorus)

Prizes, prizes, and more prizes
Mustachioed lady dons disguises
The smell of ether and saw dust
A dead roller coaster under rust

They say life is a funhouse
That explains why everyone is so ugly
A grotesque face in a curvy mirror –
A cotton-candy bed for an endless nightmare –

It’s carnival time, again.

"Fear of something is at the root of hate for others, and hate within will eventually destroy the hater." -George Washington Carver
"Men often hate each other because they fear each other; they fear each other because they don't know each other; they don't know each other because they can not communicate; they can not communicate because they are separated." -Martin Luther King Jr.

hatred is fear we let ourselves enjoy
scooping it on like ice cream in a cone
not thinking that this hatred will destroy
the only happiness we've ever known

welcome to my hard heart, please won't you stay?
hatred is fear we let ourselves enjoy
It's a sad seed growing in winter gray
bitterness steals the very heart of joy

spirit of fear will play us like a toy
the unknown chasing goosebumps up spines
hatred is fear we let ourselves enjoy
in weakness I give up what once was mine

a peace that only true love can employ
I thought a little hate would be just fine
I now know relief, Forgiveness deploy
hatred is fear we let ourselves enjoy

Dedication for love

dedication for love

You’re being noticed by others,
While I search for your love.
I’ve been lied to, knowing I've been
Replaced by your mother's love.
Oh, what can I get in return?

I've taken all the warmth from your arms
But it's futile; we're nothing worthwhile.
You seem to be unaware of my needs,
though I need you more than ever.

I lost myself scrutinizing for intimacy,
Yet, you're searching for the lies I've told.

I've fallen deep into the hole
You built for me.
Yet, with my resolute heart, I chase
The hope of love that refuses to fade.

A Slave to Paradise

Becoming a slave to my own paradise,
Becoming clingy to my own disregarded appetites,
Becoming a prisoner of my own created prison,
Becoming lonesome in my own crowd.

Recognising something lethal,
Pouring out something eternal,
Bearing some dirt of civilisation,
Tearing apart the burden of my own existence.

I've created my own traps,
Living forever in my own satire.
No appeal on the docket today;
I crave the unseens.

When the sins are unseen,
What verdicts can there be?
When the prisoner is the judge,
Is he called a metaphor of his own book?

So I've hold my head up high—
Hiding hatred that burns inside.
Perhaps this is not the last;
Perhaps this is an endless circle.

Premium MemberOne day, love will set, suffocated by the hatred that begs for mercy

One day, love will set, suffocated by the hatred that begs for mercy,
Drops of tears of regret will flow, guilty it will forever remain,
Because it was alive, because it was always there,
Because it held hearts in its palms with the utmost care,
Its whole life was a silent service, a dance of conquered freedoms,
Battles fought with unseen wings, but now, on its deathbed,
You cling to it desperately, as if your hatred were not
Enough to tear it apart, to suffocate it in its cold embrace.
But behold, love has paid the price of its sacrifice,
Watching as it fades in the arms of hatred, again and again,
Like an echo of a finished song, of a story that repeats,
In a universe where love becomes just a lost shadow,
And yet, even in its twilight, love rises,
From the ashes of regrets, from the depths of broken hearts,
Seeking to find a new beginning, a new place to rest,
In a world where hatred can no longer be its master.
