One flow of your pen 
and suddenly I am in.  
Don't tell me the end,  
I want to imagine it.

Too many rules,
Too many regulations,
Too much loss 
Of self worth,
Pushing us into
Personal vendettas.

To me?
If the shoe fits..

We all grew up listening to fairy tales like Goldilocks and the three bears…
From Jack, who climbed the beanstalk, to Rapunzel, who let down her hair.

As we snuggled safe, secure and happy neath the covers of our bed…
tales of kings and queens and castles are the stories our parents read.

We dreamed we’d be that

and stormed out of the diner in a rage,
Janet sat shattered, she just couldn’t move,
and suddenly felt like she was twice her age.

She ran to her car, quickly as she could,
her face streaked red with some well-deserved tears,
spent the day questioning all of her life,

...She did not see him at the reunion,
the big night came and he was a no-show,
Janet felt sad, but figured he might need time,
so back to their hometown the two did go.

But Chet went on the alumni website,
got her email and asked if they could meet,
the place was a low-key diner he knew,
she saw him

Her name was Janet, she was thirty-two,
and she hadn’t been in this town for years,
she’d gone to college here, back in those days,
but looking back at it now, it felt weird.

She had gotten word of a reunion,
and she’d decided it was a good time,
to do something she’d been long putting off,
something that had been consuming

I truly love my birthday…it’s a day that I hold dear…and I love the fact that my birthday falls on the last day of the year.

It’s a time to think about my friends, my children, my grandchildren and my wife…a time to reflect on the latest year in my Fairy Tale life.

I love stories with happy endings the most
Cauze I want to be happy n gay
But if we alter truth for lies it is unjust
Cauze it's true that night cannot be day

I love when lovers in a story end up together
The case of '..and they lived happy thereafter..'
But some end up tragic and it's a bother

That sets grand style


Let joy draw near
To forge fine cheer


Wise ways work well
To confront tell


Dance in good fit
That sensuous wit

Via grounded choice


Words have a way
To paint your day


Start to live fine

There's just too much tears

Happy Endings 


A long day in the office is just a prelude
to the kaleidoscopic formations
gathered beneath store front close out sales
and pigeon feathers as I head for the station,
the five o’clock hopefully on time

Strolling down the naked street,
I follow brick facades and paint chipped doorways,
listening to music from open windows above,
static to the sleeping trios

Throughout 2016 I have been reading Rob Brezsny's Pronoia
Is The Antidote For Paranoia
now ending before I reach 2017.

This postmillennial bible of multiculturalism
ends with several questions or statements
with space to write in my responses.

I am about half through these end pages.
