Premium Memberreligious fundamentalists

they lurk everywhere
religious fundamentalists
preying upon the unwary
stalking, seeking to convert
anyone they can get hold of

for them it is a do or die mission
attempting to thrust their faith
upon innocent bystanders passing by
interfering with God-bestowed free will
pursuing their ‘cause’ brazenly in public

what drives them to do this we wonder
as they go around waving posters
pictures, symbols, quotes from scriptures
but the truth of the matter really is
they have not seen God face to face

we apologise if we sound judgmental
but had the religious fundamentalists seen God
they would have realised the simple truth
that He is formless living light and agape love
and we likewise are as He, made in His image

when will the blind stop leading the blind?

Premium Membercan we sing a small song

we have to be quiet, we are not supposed to be here!
This was said in a whisper by their ghost friend Jeer.
It’s an old folk’s home, only old live people should be….
Anywhere near this park, he said specifically to me.

Can we sing a small song? I asked as quietly as I could.
As long as it does not go any further than this wood.
But I sing loud and hard, with gusto, so they all heard.
Come on! Said Count Dracula! You sing loud as a bird!

She’s not doing her best to be subtle, said the witch.
She ran off to get hold of a hickory switch.
If she gets too loud, give her whack across her back.
I was none to happy when I felt the very first smack.

Failed Suicide

The failed suicide.

He sat on the edge of a cliff, feet dangling in the air
the view was spectacular could see as far as only eagles could
could, and to think he had come here to end his life
Sat there, his troubles seemed small alright his wife had
left him, he had to leave their flat, had also lost his job too
and the visiting right to his snotty little children which
suspected was not his in the first place
For work, he could always get another job than the one he had
was a boring, 9 to 5 shifting paper, writing Ok, putting them
on an out-tray.
Now he had a fear of falling laid on his back trying to crawl
upwards, but with his feet over the cliff, he could not get hold
kept slipping down and falling
He didn’t fall far, landed in a tree sticking out of a crack and
had grown there for this reason only; clambering to the tree
hang there till rescuers, whose job it is to save people from
themselves came.
Down on the ground and embarrassed, he said, I was not
trying to commit suicide, admired the view, slipped and fell.
Sure, the rescuers said, we have many people, falling from
this cliff when admiring the view.

The Aftermath

Emotions are still high
But I do think of you still,
You've been in the sky
 For several months now.

Since then, a lot has changed in our lives,
But you are still here with me.
Providing me with direction through
This game is my very own personal hope.

I treasure all of my memories of you,
They will never go away.
You are there with me, even though
I cannot get hold of you.

I constantly shed a torrent of tears
Whenever I go to bed .
However, I am certain that you
Will appear in my dreams and
Shield me from my fears.

Because today is just another
Day, like all the others.
You'll in any case be
Here with me tomorrow.

You were the best NYAWINO
Forever engraved in my heart.

Sex Sonnet 6

She wish you could write in her open heart
In motionless gaze of thy eyes embrace
To make her; tale of an adoring art
And design well the emotion of her grace

His eyes aren't catching up thy heart's wish
He could have imprint his stamp on thy lane
The wish could still dream true; go for English
Brace culture and will for such free campaign

Culture stands aright; wish it logical
To get hold unto a little miles form
And propose her will; sociological
But ladies are bound by the polished norm

Styling wish lies alone quietly dying
One day: he would see; there you are praying

The Maid's Kid

"The Maid's Kid"

The boy saw his mother grubbing on her knees,
Toiling like a mouse to get hold of the cheese.

She works around the house, cleaning all the dishes,
She sacrifices her nights to fulfill her child's wishes.

Panting breath, bearing the pains,
She does her best and never complains.

She believes that they are the drops of gold,
Her honesty and hardwork would never get old.

Seeing his mother in unbearable pain,
'You won't be a maid,' he promised again.

Wiping off her tears, she smiled and replied,
'No work is big or small, if you do it with pride.'

                  It is always now.
                         Get it?
                 It is never.....then!
             For sure...never tomorrow.
So get hold of the moment.
We don't know when our 'nows'
May come to an abrupt end!
                  Just smile and rejoice.
In this shiny pearl of the moment.
                  That you are so blessed,
                    to be housed in it.

It's Always Thursday

Between Sundays and the week to come,
it’s Thursday wondering where the days have gone.
The flow of tick tocking the passing through,
when the rushing of the important is to pursue.
Days just disappear to wondering grieve,
while nights to sleep are to short to believe.
Moon tides smile growing full of restless sleep,
when that exhaustion only ask for that deep.
The tragedy about time that just perish,
when we cannot get hold of the now to cherish.
Taking life by the day that forever last,
so that we can celebrate it with a blast.
No more promises for tomorrow as hope,
and yesterdays regret a habit interlope.
Thursdays from Latin is Jovis related to Jupiter,
called the remover of all obstacles for the better.
Then as we know everything can happen,
on Thursdays even when you don’t know Latin.

I Can

Sometimes problems appear to come in batches,
and finding solutions is like trying to light wet wood.
This futile attempt is a mere waste of matches,
and the results will be smoke in all likelihood.
When I allow a problem to defeat me today,
It continues to occupy my time tomorrow.
Ignoring a problem just increases its stay,
Which often leads to heartache and sorrow.
The preponderance of a problem that may exist,
Psychologically influences my solution.
No matter the size it shouldn’t be dismissed,
Through prayer and searching comes resolution.
I tell myself
Courage must come from the soul within
You must finish the win to win
So figure it out yourself
You were born with all the Great have had,
Get hold of yourself and say 'I can '

Sing Africa Sing

Sing Africa, sing!
Shout to the Lord with your being
Sing to His glory for the great resources He gifted you
Sing like a bird that sings to its Maker, in adoration of His splendour

Sing Africa, sing!
Sing so loud like never before
Let all your children march towards emancipation
Sing with a united voice that sounds so sweet to the ears of those who love you

Sing Africa, sing!
Sing until the wicked roots of poverty are uprooted
Sing like you were not once enslaved by those who wanted your children wiped away
Sing as if you have never known pain, and joy is your everyday bread

Sing Africa, sing!
Sing from a Soul that carries best wishes for the Motherland
Sing in victory over the battles you won
Sing, let no one stop you from doing what you do best

Sing Africa, sing!
Get hold of that xylophone, trumpet, shekere, ekwe, djembe, flute, whistle, harp, horn, gong, balo, kora, kassa, marimba, mbira or any other musical instrument which you play with passion and pride, as the Masters of music

Sing Africa, because you understand the power of a song

I Was There

i was there
                                                   silent and faceless

                                                       i was there
                                                   calm and motionless

impossible for the eyes to behold
difficult for the senses to get hold

now i move, an escape perhaps
so slow yet the senses grasp

the blinded eye beheld, fear and despair
i move again, against the eyes that scare

tethered to the sight of a sight so rare
i was there i am there i will be there

Where Are You

I have travelled far and wide
Even on the earth’s other side
But you were not there

I stood alone amidst the dark
Hearing the solitary sound of a deer’s bark
But you were not there

I read every book that I could get hold of
To catch between the lines your hidden thought
But you were not there

I searched among human faces
Read their palms for missing traces
But you were not there

I wrote words of wisdom
Drew sketches of mystical kingdoms
But you were not there

Divine love why play truant with me
Are you a child who loves to play hide and seek?

Premium MemberSurrendering Triumphantly

Yielding humbly
Dear God, I need Your gracious moulding...
Acknowledging my sins with repentance
My soul seeks for Your forgiveness.

Lord, with Your grace at work
Tremendously triumphant
I surrender to Your control
Please get hold of my stubborn will
As You direct my steps by Your light.

With Your peace toward service-trek
My spirit You enrich with wisdom’s endowment
For me to choose Your path against deceit
Oh, Saviour...
Keep me following You.

Midst weariness
I ask for Your power, my Master
While my heart submits
To Your compassionate leadership
In ministering along kingdom advancement.

Victoriously, I keep on
Pressing toward grateful praise
Blissful to meet You
My Christ and King
For sweet fellowship*.

*1John 1:3 …Truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

A True Companion

Her memories swell-up in our bosom spontaneously
And get hold our whole being so overwhelmingly
Moistening our eyes and lifting our spirits joyfully
That asserts her deep love for us all, quite candidly.

Her years of memorable stay with us here precisely
Was caringly ordained by the providence specially
To assuage our woes that gripped us so mercilessly
Offered succour to the entire household constantly.

Hard-boiled masses perhaps may never understand
That unarguably cemented our sentimental bond
That ever lives on between us and affectionate Rani
Defy all dry logic and rationale of doubting mind.

Is it possible to insulate scent from a cute flower?
Or warmth from the bosom of a godlike mother
Or ardour from the inviting hugs of a friend near
Suffer amnesia from the memoirs of Rani, the dear.

Fifteen long years of sweet and constant bond
Made her part and parcel of our very being
Though there is the seemingly bodily separation
She ever lives in our hearts as a steady companion.

Look Up

Hey children! Listen, I miss your zeal.
The world inside your mobile is surreal.
Look up!
See, I have fixed stronger glasses on my windows,
Get hold of your cricket kit, come back on the street,
I miss watching your games.
I won’t mind, smash all my window panes.

Hackneyed messages,
Dollops of unalloyed twaddle
Tides of trifling emotions!
Baby! You are locked inside your mobile.
Look up!
See, the stadium looks so barren!
Without your mischiefs and fun,
Your irritating jibber- jabber and nonstop run.
I won’t mind, come on burst my eardrum.

Your friends, your pictures, games, tweets and stories
You live in a fantasy world, that’s absolutely unsavoury.
Step back into this beautiful life, create beautiful memories.
Look up!
Don’t waste your time and energy.
Live for a cause, get up and push back your lethargy.
Open the notebook of your life,
Fill it with love, fame and prosperity.
No matter what! You shall thrive.
Don’t be a slave to mobile,
Life isn’t a game!
Dear! You have to survive, mobiles exists just to give a little respite!
