She holds a set of dangling golden keys,
In front of a massive silvery gate.
Knowing the prize I ask to enter please,
But she shakes her head which denotes my fate.

I take out magical potion to trade,
But no interest as she agitates.
I have no army to perform a raid,
So I am thinking I will come back late.

"I can read your mind", she awkwardly smiles,
Though my destiny is beyond her reach...
That is, if I can walk a hundred miles,
To enter from the unprotected beach.

Then to surprise she quickly chages her mind,
With her and the dragon that I may dine!

Premium MemberBeyond the Gatekeeper

              A world beyond,
         imagination is possible;
      using transcendental thinking prolonged,
        with deep meditation- not impossible.
Close your eyes- reflect on the silence around you,
  let go of inner thoughts and float deeper into the view;
go spirit walking towards a breakthrough,
and float away with fluffy clouds and azure blue.

              Go deep, deeper,
         and in your trance state all can be;
let fear go and go beyond the gatekeeper,
to climb a wild tangled ancient tree.
See a beautiful nirvana world of sea and green,
  you can stay or float away to another scene;
the places you can go are fathomless and serene,
but do not stay too long in this state of in-between.

Delivered from the bowels of the ancient tombs of Pharaohs forgotten
The steampunked chest plated falcon loving gatekeeper approached
We were fearful of his neon green glance and psychedelic war paint.
He was not your typical partygoer. It did not take a genius to see this.

Dragon like feelers in a moon pattern were part of his body’s armor.
Intimidated, we stopped dancing and started to look for exits.
An evil eye neck plate with falcon-like attitude stopped us in our tracks.
Where is Gyemaster? He asked. Voice compelled us to stay in place.

We obediently allowed him to scan us with is eyes, one by one.
Satisfied, he moved to an eager young giggling female freshman.
She stopped moving, was dead silent now; her face glowed orange.
You know him don’t you? He asked her in a hologram way.

She nodded and he led her from the party as you would lead a donkey.
If this had been any other guy, we would have resumed dancing.
Instead we wandered off to our houses to cower and hide.
Frightened by a falcon loving gatekeeper from beyond the future.

Gatekeeper

The gatekeeper whose
golden house’s roof reflects
off the sun at noon
A torch or a lighthouse for
The fearless midnight watchman

A faraway coast
The coldest of wars
A frontline post
Flying machines with whirly blades
and painted on red stars
search in vain for a ghost
Tension was high
In the waters off Kamchatka Krai

My Gatekeeper

Every voice needs an ear
  for it to be free

Every writer, a reader,
or the words cease to be

In my case I’ve been lucky
though she came to me late

For my dearest sweet Laura
  —the key to my gate

Gatekeeper of My Heart

You hold the flame that tamed my heart
That came to me in the light of the dark
On fire from the very start
Life itself could not pry our love apart
Meeting in the middle like a dancing fiddle
That sings out like a weeping willow

That reflects from the glisten
Out of the corner of your eyes
Have I ever felt a love that testifies
No matter how hard I try
Finding the kind of love that you supply
That makes your heart touch the sky

A love that makes all life's special moments magnify
Like the sun dances off the morning dew
Through and through I will always love you
The woman who holds the key to my heart
From the moment we met you ignited amazing sparkes
Touching my soul as our love unfolds

That makes my life so fancy and new
Making all my dreams come true
Oh gatekeeper of my heart
How I loved you right from the very start

Let us never tear our love apart
Or take it for granted
Because of the kind of love we planted
Is forever enchanted in our hearts
Where we keep all the amazing starts

The Gatekeeper

On Boondoggle street
thrives a magic store
anyone who enters disappears
except the old dear
who minds the counter
who never enters or leaves
whose eyes are sharp as twin tacks.

The Gatekeeper

twas the night,
forsaken to see,
another angel,
calls to he.

He who walks,
through desolate skies,
teaching young angels,
how to fly.

Blowing the wind,
beneath their wings,
keeping them aloft,
for everyone to see.

This is the man,
who controls all fate,
the one who lets,
people through his gates.

The Gatekeeper

I am the keeper,
Who and what gets in
Is my responsibility.

Tides of new thought arrive,
Containers for spreading despair,
As I work the stars are always

Majestic up there.
Restless on a square of
bedrock memories,
Sparks of anxiety
Set off fires, useful for
Recipe cooking and
Reference checking.
Pure colors dilute into
Black and white tapestries
Of guilt and self doubt,
Like weather fronts,
Coming in and going out.

Vast, ambiguous weight
Sways in my aching heart,
The latch and sagging hinges

Need repair, so much use,
Like my hands and feet, me..
The gatekeeper.

Gatekeeper

with every passing moment I think of you
in every waking hour I long for your taste
the memories haunt me but I love feeling this way
with every rose comes a thorn
in every night the darkness overcomes
for now ill drift off to sleep but I know I’ll never dream of anything else
you were my Annabel Lee
and I was the gatekeeper to your garden
underneath the fabric of time there is always a myriad of things good as well as bad
the raven calls out my name at the fourth hour of every night
then come the eyes that follow my every move
I cower at the thought that they're watching me
for I know that they know I'm guilty at heart
I cannot help but be thankful for time
it gives me the chance to replace the hearts I have stolen
but I know that with every success there comes a failure
so I fear for my peace of mind
I will never be forgiven so I will not deny it when I’m dragged to the pits of despair
and I know I will find you there
