Night Shine

Night falls in neon showers
Here in the nocturnal simmer of summer
slick city blacktops spark electric.

The juiced-up take to their cars,
pull into fast food haunts
where glazed eyes
return to two-way mirrors,
others fall without noticing
into a numb subliminal hum
an electric divining of something bad
to come.

An ear crawling buzz,
the static clutter of criminal minds
distorts the crests of overheated airwaves.
distant thunderheads pop like
galvanic mushrooms.
Light bulbs vanish
behind lighthouse eyes.

Under a canopy of magnetic shine
liquor stores promote a glow and fizzle,
a hissing power that backlight's
both beer can and bottle,

and we who drink
are thankful for the way
such strung-out needs carry us
in and out of our dreams

until, of course, as always,
a stark, accusatory dawn
jangles its steel-bright
jailhouse keys.

Baby, give me a waterfall
overflowing the cliffs of love,
create a river to my heart.

You, the momentum of my heart,
like a galvanic waterfall,
stoking the current's flow of love.

If doctors could cardiograph love,
and chart its flow within my heart,
the graph would show a waterfall~

a waterfall of love into the river of my heart.

Climatic

The air was metallic,
it had the taste of long spilled blood,
the smell of copper pennies.

A red-eyed sky prowled through bare trees
wind-smears sizzled over steel pylons,
a galvanic hissing ignited unseen frights.

Heat and cold were deranged
by magnetic layers of madness,
there was a fizzle of white noise in the hedgerows.

Fractions of atmosphere separated,
flew away.
Feral conditions ransacked the horizon.

Experts talk of systems
and patterns,
explanations always come
after the land is mauled,
hearts wounded.

No one saw it leave,
it did not move on
it moved inward to rattle flesh and bones,
it remained as zones of uncertainty
while day and night grew weary of each other.

After the electric storm
cats were found in other parts
alive
but forever haunted by daylight.

Galvanic Cell

It all starts off at the anode,
where the electrons are lost,
they went bumping and shooting through the wire
and set the voltmeter on fire.
There's a huge crash-land in the cathode,
where the cations are reduced,
then the anions sprinted back through the salt bridge,
and electricity is produced.

Galvanic completing
Gone, never repeating
Geologic receding
Glowing and preceding

Beyond traveling miracles of disbelief

Resides a current carrying a leaf

Echoed in caves ravishingly defined

Ablazed memories trailing behind

Topaz fields lingering mineral scents

Haikus of nature with concurring assents

Transcending divinity allured by magnets

Amorous affection drawn by dynamics

Katydids singing releasing sweet tones

Interconnected lattice covering a throne

Neems carrying fruit creates new life

Galvanic enthrall, an exquisite blithe

Confession

I admit I approximated akin adultery
Abusively allowing my abominable,abstinent eyes
To absorb abstract, alluring beauty around me
Gazed galvanic glances guiltily
Thus glamorized God's grave gluttony.

Thus glamorized God's grave gluttony.

Divulgence

I confess I convincingly committed contemptible crimes
Beguiling bewitching beauty beyond my bona fide bounty
Gazed galvanic glances guiltily
Thus glamorized God's grave gluttony.

Spatterdock Croquet

When Nature frees the lotus
   (This year's debut emergence)
      From their sleeping seeds,
When they begin to cress the surface,

I shall stand with broadened smile,
   My heart's joy augment threefold;
      And when the lillies burst
   In galvanic evening's gold,

If the expansion of elation
   Don't mean I'm likely doomed
      To laugh so hard confined
   In the vaulted night perfumed

And if I don't spit out my life
When the lillies shoot their seeds
And no tremors shall have seized my heart
   Nor Death, my ticket, heeds:

When Cold caresses the membranes,
Bringing the lillies to rot and break,
      Bowing down before the wind,
Their thirst, face down, to slake,

They later will be frozen
   On the very coldest day,
      Bent into the wickets
   Of Spatterdock Croquet.

Bumpy Roads

Peering into my rear mirror,
Galvanic glitter diminishes into
The blind side. No longer tantalizing,
Runic tunes can't tickle my tongue.

Over crystal clear aquamarine under
Robin egg sky, mighty eagles fly high.
I hear nested birds - Chirp!

As skewered wind twirls leaves,
Cosmic rays shoot shadow bands.

Slumberous new worlds rub an eye.
The night sky shyly twinks at dusk.
The wonderous peace heaves a
Breath into a black blanket of night.

I hear naked light whispering that
Universalisms are ever evolving as
God's guidance is refolding my maps.
