Cloaked in a fitting grey suit and bow tie,
She floats like paper kites across meadows.
From a hollow in a tree, her eyes pry~
Her loud hoot startles nearby sleeping crows.
The spectral owl, with her faint, surprised look,
Watches as the crows flee into the dark.
Then silence reigns, curbed only by a brook,
And chirps of birds in the dark forest park.
Within calm meadows nestled in the hills,
The great grey owl sights frogs, snakes, and mudfish.
She floats on broad wings, drawn by hunger’s thrills~
A feast just enough to grant her one wish.
As dusk gives way to the coming sunlight,
To a hidden branch, she flew for a nap~
To await the call of another night,
And avoid the birder’s photograph trap.

The Queen has a navy
That floats in her gravy,
It’s sharp and its clear,
But it’s sure tough to steer,
For the rudders get stuck
In that thick, grayish muck,
And the lads in the stern
Have a penchant to yearn
For the bright shining waters
All popping with otters,
Yet they smile as they sail past
Her Majesty’s repast,
And wink as they think
That they’d better not sink,
For if sailors go down
In the gravy, they’ll drown,
And you can’t hear them yelp
Through the lard for some help,
And therefore it’s wise
On the ship to keep eyes,
And they sail towards a biscuit
And think that they’ll risk it,
‘Midst butters and jams,
And kippers and clams,
On a crumbly crag
Raise Her Majesty’s flag,
And with hearts beating proud
Face the smiling crowd,
For a deed large or small,
It is better than all,
If it’s done with conviction,
Not merely good diction,
And protecting the table,
Or more, if you’re able,
Brings honor unseen
To country and Queen.

Playing my harmonica softly into the night
Watch a few birds take flight
The sound fills the air
Some animals seem not to care
Guess that is fair
Can see the music as it floats by
To disappear in the darkness of the sky
Shimmering
Glimmering
Visual echoes of sound
To gravity they are not bound
Beautiful, I have found
Like a wave flowing past
I wish it would last
Different colors for all the many notes
Across the air it gently floats
Off into the night
Such a beautiful sight
My rainbow of light
Lost to the world around
My heartbeat, the only other sound
I enter a world of my own
Forget all that life has shown
All that I see
I feel so free
The energy it does take
Is so hard to make
I know I can stay
Only as long as I play
Trembling shaking
Reality starts waking
The music starts to die
Softly I cry
The show fades away
I find night has turned to day
I lay myself down to sleep
But the memories make weep
But they are mine to keep

Fairy floats on a bubble, gliding along in the dream of dreams
Meditating on the atmosphere’s all-powerful light streams
Balmy air above and below keeps her uplifted, and moving delicately
I wonder about her ancestry and whether or not she is related to me.

Thank God we still have folks who know
how to do stuff,
not talking-heads and poets
who just believe in words;
not any of them
having even the basic skills
to work a buzz saw or power drill,
or clean up after their own bull-crap.

"Seashells travel they sell pushed by the wind and breeze desolation faith command pulled a travel by The Wave clear quietly as the mist droplets of rain forging down stormy now the shore swiftly fights the ship now the clear seashell that's courage it views love desires to endure and not fall endure the stormy comes with love is a clear seashell"

My letter, written on a parchment sail; behold,
it bobs on waves of the sea, each word a jewel
meant to bring him home, if he chooses to unfold
the love sonnet written, or am I just a fool?
Foolish to think my words will survive the sailing
Will he care enough to read my heart's confessions
I pray the tradewinds will be kind and prevailing
so that he receives my love's heartfelt expressions
For then he will know I'd rather face cruel death
without him. Can he see ink blurs from my spilled tears
Since he left, my life is nothing but wasted breath
Each day my note is unanswered, compounds my fears
My love floats upon your waves. Take care, restless sea
Find him quickly, and bring him safely back to me

Faith serves as ballast
anchoring my calmest self -
stress loves to perturb my still.
Faith holes make punctures
leaving me to drown at sea -
stress floats to watch me drown.

Light falls amongst light, not a shadow's might
blown past chill of day with tepid winds
graceful as a feather floats
down in silence
beheld nearer a beauty rests
before bent visions
held in check from sultry seas
breaking where fragrance parts
It dwells in storied touch
lain across ancient ways but
still held taught
when sumptuous lips unite
and stagnant thoughts float free
as if the feather in the wind
was once again
with me
