Premium MemberBreathless Elation at Birth

Baby's first breath
Requires a regulated inhalation of air
Expelled through exhalation
Allowing life to begin.
This is usually followed by
Hearing baby's loud cry
Letting relieved parents to
Express their delighted excitement.
Signified by wide satisfied smiles
Sometimes this elation leaves them breathless.

Spring's Abysmal Guile

Spring’s Abysmal Guile
By Sy Roth

A vapor rises, rank as the charnel pit,
a corruption of a miasma vast,
as though some sepulcher, long sealed,
split its stony jaws to breathe.
Vile exhalation of a corrupted world.

The reveler, unwitting wretch
treads the decadent fields where verdure writhes,
each blade a hostile tendril, squamous, cold,
glistening with ichor
No earthly fount its progenitor.

He deems the shade of evil vanquished,
trampled beneath his hobnailed boot.
The soil heaves with malefic will,
its roots, like veins of some primordial fiend,
pulses with a rankness older than the stars,
a stench that whispers of aeons lost.

Spring cloaks itself in verdant pall,
no bloom, but scales of a vast, unuttered thing,
its thorns a raven’s beak, evermore to rend, to sow, to bespoil.

He quaffs the tainted zephyr,
proclaiming triumph over a gloaming moon,
Swept in the season’s unseen talons,
fathomless ennui
creeps through his sinews,
entombing his soul in an abysmal cleft unshriven.

Premium MemberI Am

the clockwise spiral
withdraws the universe
manifestation and movement
making potential all that is kinetic
humming at a stillness point
at core of consciousness
being the eternal I Am

then the exhalation
creative energy in motion
allows dream forms to dance
in the template of sacred geometry
wherein I Am all that is manifest
present as love’s heartbeat
within each earth entity

repeated immersions
into whirlpools of duality
gradually refines sensibilities
of eternal light of Self which I Am
that merging into heart of God
I glisten therein like a gem
radiating love and light

exhalation death, inhalation life
all earth bound souls are drawn toward the light
free from strife we all wish to be bliss rife
light that lights all lights banishing the night
bestowing upon us, spherical sight
be this as it may, whatever we fear
a blockage that does not let God draw near

SITTING ON MULTICOLORED CARPET SQUARES

SITTING ON MULTICOLORED CARPET SQUARES
LOST IN THOUGHT, BUT THINKING OF NOTHING AND NOONE
SO MANY RIVERS HAVE CHANGED IN RANGE OF FLOW
UNEXPECTED ARE THE DIRECTIONS THAT THE ROCKS SKIP
IT IS THEN THE THE MULTICOLORED CARPET SQUARES BECOME AMBIDEXTROUS
UNPREDICTABLE ARE THE INTERCHANGES OF TIME
ALL BREEZEWAYS AND ENTRYWAYS BECOME MORE NARROW WITH ABUSED AGE
ALL OF A SUDDEN A STORM BREWS WITH CONSTIPATED RAGE
THE LAXATIVE OF RELEASED FREEDOM IS A MUCH WELCOMED CHAPTER OF EXHILARATING EXHALATION
THE MULTICOLORED CARPET SQUARES DISSIPATE WHEN THE SLUMBERS ARE THE DEEPEST
MASSAGE CHAIRS FRESH FROM SOME ABANDONED MALL WILL BE CHOSEN NEXT TIME, NEXT CHAPTER

CACOETHES

CACOETHES

The urge comes upon us all, in time
To step over the line, however bad
Yet some of us know, others do not
How deep into trouble one has got
For a few, it can be starting the rot
But in ignorance, still won’t be sad
And not recognise when it’s a crime

One may even surrender to the urge
When being naughty is all that it is
But not when it’s serious infatuation
Nor if resulting in severe perturbation
Breathe deep with a slow exhalation
Perhaps even welcome that rare fizz
And feel a little sizzle with the surge

Embrace control as smooth emulsion
Always know the way back to sanity
The word created by ancient Greeks
Heed the warning of which it speaks
Read those signs in reddening cheeks
And listening out for all the profanity
Yet be wary if it becomes compulsion

the potent pause
of polarity interchange
at each breath exhalation
is the void of cessation
signalling ego death

dwelling therein
stretching the pause
in bliss energised stillness
our eye becomes single
we become the flame

Premium MemberAvadhuta Gita Chapter 1, Verse 26

“As the self is filled by the Self, so is all filled continuously by you. There is no meditator or meditation.
Why does your mind meditate shamelessly?”

to behold its own reflection
living light takes on myriad forms
each module though one with the whole
hypnotised by the ego, is lost in life’s storms

if we be but still in the void of polarity interchange
occurring between exhalation and inhalation
when intent arises but before its action
these are moments of meditation

ego is but an identity our soul dons
to assist it to safely navigate earth life
as such in truth there is no one here within
our true Self is living light, in peace and bliss rife

the ego as doer or meditator simply does not exist
we are the light that lights all lights in this world
in time stretched silence ego disappears
heart centric, flag of love is unfurled

Premium MemberMusings on death

what is born must die …
this we know but do not accept
in as embrace with vibrant nonchalance ~
no, let us admit it fellow souls
we are in truth truly afraid

we have seen birds in mourning …
majestic lions tear eyed when grieving
rain drops falling when skies are weeping

one by one fangs of death have wrenched away
family and friends who made us feel complete
we too will die, who then are we, we wonder

scriptures and fables offer not the taste
direct knowing of death that erases doubt
to imbibe truth we enter time dissolved silence
animating attention in the bardo of formlessness
soul’s eye then beholds dead leaf of ego drop away

reflect oh hermit, do we not die with each exhalation
at our core we know the next breath’s not promised
sleep is death yet we look forward to it each night
is not death then just waking up from this dream
why oh why do we cling to ephemeral illusions

shrugging off death of form ~ death yet pursues
we die when voice of conscience is subdued
when lust, rage and envy are fires we fan
or a girl child is abandoned at the orphanage
we die whenever ego opaques the light of our soul

Premium MemberAutumn

The nascent sun warmth appears to emanate
The spiritual worlds charm of confidence state.
A breath whisper thrives a frail blossom;
Reclaim its exhalation colour delight-some.

A small, huff, whirlwind uplifts, swirling,
Pinwheel of fallen autumn leaves, ebbing,
Passionate rant ease, then lay unhook
Settling a pepper to a rustic idyllic look.

Existent amorous illusion scene of welcoming aweless
Sheath dress in continuance timeless solace.
Spellbound by silence sweet embracing scent
Eminently natural or synthetic trace descent.

Sunny laughter where squirrel scurry everywhere.
Charm and seductive song of mockingbird compare.
In an aura and its heavenly quintessence kept abreast;
Butterflies flit, bumblebees Emerging from nestled rest.

          POETIC INHALATION

           As waves thrashed on emotion,
           causing sense of suffocation ,
           Mind needs poetic inhalation
           to lighten pain,
           to brighten joy,
           to enlighten soul.

           Emotive urge surges,
           Ardent ardour adorns,
           Dormant dream desires.

             Ensuing exhalation of ennui .

Premium MemberInhale Exhale

At times we’re forced to grin and bare it,
but then again if the shoe fits, wear it—Quote by poet

Inhalation/Exhalation

Breathe in, arms above my head, a salutation to the sun
breathe out, and Namaste` and blessings to everyone
Kalidasa’s prayer, “Please subdue the anguish of your soul,
nobody is destined to only happiness or to pain,
the wheel of life takes one up and down in turn”
Why then do I still feel like screaming into the void?
It’s always something else which has me annoyed
Coaxing adherents into haters then blithely cleansing one’s hands,
so lost loyal allies fall prey to their shepherds demands
My evil muse is not amused

Saying Goodbye to My Dog

It wasn’t supposed to happen this way.
Yesterday she was running and playing.
Today she is lying on her right side,
head resting motionless on the quilt
she loved and destroyed as a playful pup.

Her tail wags as I enter the room.
Her left eye following my every move.
I try to calm her fears and confusion,
stroking her head, kissing her gentle face,
whispering that everything is OK,
although I’m lying and she knows it.

The veterinarian enters the room.
It is time to say our final goodbyes.
I plant one last kiss on her tawny head
and rest my hand on her outstretched paw.
The final moments of her life, determined now
by the last push of the syringe.
She does not linger; with one last exhalation
I feel her spirit desert her tired body.
A wave of sorrow overcomes me.
Gutted and overwhelmed with grief,
I let the tears flow.

She seems at peace but I don’t want to
abandon my trusted companion
in this bright, sterile room.
I shut off the lights and sit with her for a few minutes.
Twelve years of memories muddled
with the sadness of today’s events.
My grief; the price I must pay for
   her unconditional love.

humming, purring toroidal heart
conjoins with glistening third eye
whilst orifice at fontanel pulsates
thus with each exhalation we die

that that dies however, never was
for we are living light in renewal
knowing the cause, desires pause
battling no duel in this realm dual
