Notes About The Poem

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_oak

I Am a Live Oak Tree

I stand tall and green, shading, like an umbrella,
Towering over the gray shingle roofs of my neighborhood.
And evergreen I am called; I stay green all year round.
My leaves never turn golden and russet colors
That float down and gather among the emerald-green grass.
Only my fallen acorns that lie scattered are gathered
By the squirrels that scurry around.
My leaves dance when the exhalation breath waltzes around
And tickles my fancy. At night, the mockingbirds perch
Among my limbs and serenade me to sleep.

This is a great personification with a hint of a nursery rhyme. Wonder how your latest book is selling.

Our palm leaves wave farewell aplenty amidst the breeze, saying, "Acorns on a whaling ship is the ticket." A blessed write of a majestic tree. Aloha.

What a beautiful tree full of compassion and zest for life! Lovely as the mockingbird’s song at midnight!. What wonderful feelings in the life of the oak you express. So happy I found this very special poem . If for a contest, best wishes accompanied by blessings, Eve

I appreciate how you've captured the unique hardiness of the live oak tree. We have lots of live oak trees in our part of Texas.
