Premiere Contest WinnerInhale and Expire

.
motes
sunbeams
spectral view
exhalation
could blow you away
I choose to breathe you in
travel via my airways
you become intoxicating
I know that you take my breath away

a constricted throat opens my mind
lay dying in imagined arms
astral asphyxiation
paved road to redemption
flickers in and out
radiant light
bathed in silk
imbibed
end

I see the train ride was good to all of us. Next passage should be free! Congrats, LG.

I’ve never seen so much virtual bling on a page before, but it looks great, and more importantly all fully deserved, congratulations on your latest trophy LG, you certainly hit the ground running on your re-entry to PS, I’m still spaced out each time I read this one, cheers David

Woohoo! I actually fell for the nonet as a form and enjoyed it :) and there was a lovely supportive nonet cameraderie on soup too :) I did consider an audio for this, but that spaced out feel you mention is real - felt hypnotic - so bizarre haha! Thank you for cheering me on :)

Haha! Yeah this poem doesn't come with an instruction manual, so might be considered dangerous practice lol - silky smooth :)

It all starts with a plausible set of words in opposition. There are times when the only way to see with open eyes is to close them. At the moment breath is constricted, we've never felt more alive... in the intimate vein, but let's not revisit David's Nonete. ;-) You know what I mean. Well done!

Hahahaha Lin, hilarious! Of all the ways to get carried away :) there is definitely a defining moment when getting up close and personal with consciousness and I had an attempt to capture it here - I think you're right - start and end word choices are crucial and I dived in without knowing where it would end up and kinda got away with it but perhaps just once - as the poem dictates lol thank you for your kind visit and interesting thoughts on this poem and of course the fun banter :)

I’m spaced out reading your wonderful nonet LG, motes are everywhere, not always the ones we want to breathe, but you inhale them willingly and quite acceptingly, which gives the sense of you being overwhelmed by a wanted presence, (astral asphyxiation) what transcendental imagery in that line alone, a beautiful piece all round, that gives off very satisfying energy and vibes, great one for contest, cheers David

I was just riffing on the word 'mote' and thinking of tiny things, almost like nano technology but organic for universal beings - it's a little choppy as I don't have the patience or perhaps vocabulary for the shape creation but it was fun to attempt. I imagine my reading up on Buddhism had some bearing on the imagery. Although I can amuse myself with word association and imagery of Derek Acorah and those spiritual dust motes often seen on the ghost hunter shows lol
