LISTEN TO THE WIND
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Listen to the wind murmur. Can you hear it
     gently stirring yesterday’s dust motes,
          kissing everyone's cheek with forgotten warmth,
               painting hues of hope into the bleeding blue?
Listen to the wind sing. Can you hear it
     creating a soft melody from rustling leaves,
          whispering promises etched into tree bark,
               grounding us in the breath we share equitably?
Listen to the wind mumble. Can you hear it
     bowing giant oaks, tickling forest’s green expanse,
          ruffling the mouse’s coat as well as the king’s gold crown,
               leveling an equal, impartial hand to all?
Listen to the wind whisper. Can you hear it
     raising up paper cranes and giving them flight,
          carrying one’s dreams on its placid breezes,
               guaranteeing nothing, yet everything.
Listen to the wind moan. Can you hear it
     lifting silent prayers, light as dandelion fluff,
          bidding us pause as life’s burdens dissolve?
Let’s not make a scene—
not in front of the metaphor-curious.
We owe them a semblance
of shared syllabic stability.
You take Tuesdays,
I’ll keep weekends and the enjambments.
Let’s split the metaphors equitably—
you keep flame, I’ll keep ash.
No one touches liminal.
I’ll speak highly of your similes
at open mic,
nod with gentle gravitas
when they ask if we’re
still...collaborating.
We’ll stage polite reposts,
perhaps a comment or two—
Stunning work! Your voice is missed!
Even though our voices
are on everything. Loudly.
We’ll give them what they crave:
poised poets
posing as lovers
in the filtered light
of someone’s Instagram story.
Not because it’s true—
God, no.
But because some of the haiku kids
just found their footing,
and I won’t be the one
to shake their form.
air a voice of no measure
of artsy quiescency
a plague that ails them
whereby its cure is
not immediate
composure that an artist
overripes her flowery
facial abeyance
visage interspersing gild
Premium Member Living On the Side
I have lived on the side for so long
A life full of drudgery and misery
A victim of unfortunate birth
To a lowly stock of humanity
And to that soulless contraption of a fatherland
Destined to scrape along
On my daily shamed trajectory
Of the wretched of the earth
Living a good life has always been a mirage
Gleaned from pages of papers and televisions
In the heat of electioneering campaigns
Which fizzle out as elections are won and lost
Why has a creature like me
And  my ghetto siblings created
And Condemned permanently
On the fringes of life if not to
Mock God’s creation?
Why has nature bestowed so much?
But  has failed to bless all equitably
How To Be Wise and Nice
If we forget noble friends
And stay with no regrets
One day we will lose them
Due to our careless mind
If we shrewdly use time
And distribute it equitably
Our success is assured
We get in life victory
If we know to postpone
When our mood is low
We end all heart-breaks
And pave a safe route
If we take extra steps
To stabilize our mind
We escape from gloom
Due to our wise action
If we utilize time carefully
By giving to all attention
We are in a safe position
As our joy is then intact
Let us ignore none at all
By taking honest efforts
If we keep ourselves busy
We surely achieve a lot
Perfect discipline helps
It rescues us from losses
We give the World the best
We usefully live on Earth
If laziness we drive away
If peace we evenly spread
If we make all get love
We form a paradise
If we tolerate kindly
If we offer assistance
If we chant a prayer
We purify this Earth
Our stay will one day end
Before that let us be noble
We must give all happiness
Before we quit this globe.
If I Ruled The World
Proving souls mettle life elapsed that being in disaccord,
Let us confirm the presence of each other multi-colored,
Give a righteous opportunity for all to justly share,
Equitably, separate terms on a wing and a prayer,
Reinvent a world from disarray also disillusion,
Let all be convinced in a better future, hearts infusion,
Enjoying fashioned comfort together and security,
Truly, rooves o'er heads, bellies well-nourished, lifetime surety,
Laborers lifestyle concludes with an automated new world,
Encountering goodness, nature, others, set in a dreamworld,
Disproving spoils of Earth and that genuine malevolence,
Relieved ills, ensure benevolence, I hope its prevalence.
Companion
Memories will always lasts forever
As we'll all be together and forever
To invent our own life's meaning easy
But it's still allowed and we'll be happy
While the futile keep espying at us
As they loathe and blabbed about our oneness
And the garrulous prolonged to be taciturn
We equitably annulled their vision
We're united for an authentic purpose
And never be diverged sans purpose
I hope and wish this company to last forever
And we'll be the last ones standing ever
So sensationally super; Sagittarius son of John Spence
Pleasantly personable, and matriarch Maud Spence’s son
Enabling, exquisite, eloquent, evolving and enterprising
Naturally nice, no nonsense, and a nutritionist nobleman
Carrot consumer, constant comrade and cold-war veteran
Equitably enlightened, and just an elegant eggnog taster
Jumping Jupiter, a jubilant sundae lover, and just a jewel
Oppresso de liber, optimistically captivating; oratorical
Saintly passionate, succulent salmon sampler; sweetheart!
Exquisitely enchanting, enchantingly amatorious; éclat!
Playful, painstakingly passionate, pajama wearer, patient
Handsomely helpful handyman, harmonizer of happiness
Sweet as syrup, shining armor off the shelf; savoir-faire!
Red-blooded poetry connoisseur and radioactively lovable!
