To Lyric
Shh, shh, shh, I love the sound of her breathing.
Shh, shh, shh, I love her heavy panting.
Under me or above me,
She is still so real.
So real, I secretly pinch my skin
And hope it isn't a dream.
How much I wonder how it would sound when she laughs?
How much I think about the lone tear that left her eye?
My heart could not beat, even from afar.
I wanted to hold her and caress her hair,
Like they do in the books she likes to read.
I want to leave her breathless, wanting more
From all the love I hold inside.
A raise of her lips is all I seek
As I whisper, "I love you" and circle
My fingers on her back, the night enviously fades.
When they ask how a firecracker could love a candle,
I say, she lights up my world even in my darkest days.
She is my rainbow, my guiding star.
Who loves me, even with my scars
My girl doesn't need words to show me how she feels,
And makes the tedious work seem fun.
For her, I will skip meals;
For her, I will fight thieves.
For her, my broken heart beats.

Starting with the toes,
Leaning from back to front.
Curling muscles across the back.
Never stressed,
Elongated.
Pushing out from nose to tail.
I go from one appendage to the next.
Toes than feet.
Moving knees round and round.
Swaying hips up and down,
In hope the back pain settles down.
The pets have it made.
Each muscle is stretched in one continuous motion.
No rubbing in of lotion.
Cats join in under their shade,
Stretching in from toes up to the back.
As I sit,
Moving each muscle getting ready to stand.
Enviously disrupting my continuous stretch,
As I do my best.

Joyful lively yellow daisies were hard at play
Not minding the wind on this spring-like Thursday
Mount Saint Helen in the distance, drab and gray
Watched enviously as the daisies danced so gay

She steadily marches along the equator of life
Optimism and hope parading along beside her trying to catch up
I sigh, recognizing my youth, but unable to grab it back
There is such contentment and love, I want a piece of it.
Do I have the impetus to snatch it back?
I fear not.
I watch enviously as she strides along the equator
Living her dreams of sun and surf, of love and hope
Optimism is still trying to catch up.
I turn away, for she is too beautiful to watch.
I know optimism will soon join her in her quest

"Diamonds"
I love the rain and the piano.
We are the diamonds
formed strong under pressure
we cut glass like blades cut through Winter's ice
the mirror shatters as we touch
they can’t break us
as hard as anyone might try;
We are the diamonds
shining bright and beautiful
reflecting light as piano notes
turn keys to wash clean
the tears of past pain's refrain
I love the piano and the rain.
We are the diamonds
camouflaged safe in the dark
impenetrable amongst all covetous shadows
with their hidden dark eyes watching enviously,
longingly and with anticipation
for a high fall from grace
But that won’t happen.
We are the diamonds,
made of stronger stuff than
shadows crying tears of past pain's refrain
thin veiled ghosts wanting to be diamonds just the same
We are the diamonds
Shining in the rain

I had my first glimpse of her from the sandy beach,
her silhouette painted on the sky's canvas of peach
The regal double-mast brigantine, sailing out to sea
Upon waves she rode, full glory not yet at apogee
But whence the wind, her sails would be unfurled,
she'd glide quickly over waters, crested and curled
Fully hoisted and billowing in flowing trade winds,
chased by dolphins, breaking surface with dorsal fins
I longed to be a mariner aboard her quarterdeck
visiting foreign ports along the journey I would trek
Hearing tall tales the sailors were bound to embellish
Her crew was setting sail on a voyage I would relish
I yearned to stand at the helm; salt spray on my face
Memories of such an adventure I'd cherish and embrace,
on a vessel sailing between the sea and the stars
But I sit in the shallows, enviously watching from afar

My bird cage remains as dark as charcoal
Until I hear twelve counts on the clock bell
I then rouse, to let my hearty whims roll
There, on the roof, enlaced in love's spell!
Why, at midnight, romance and I dive down
To where oceans refuse to wade, out of
Deep fear, and we rise to where skies do frown
Crossed, unable to conquer it above!
Stars watch us and smile down enviously
The moon, so crimson, closes both its eyes
While we demonstrate of the purity
Of our love without resorting to lies!
When the dawn soaks us with its morning glare
We feign to yearn not for the midnight flare!

Orchards of Opportunity
Alone in the orchard of opportunities
surveying the ripened potential
I pondered the fruitful labor of others
enviously sniffing the succulence of success.
Knowing that their success was only mine
in theory, in dreams, in unlimited potential.
Before me lay the future’s untilled fields
awaiting a touch, a vision, an awakening.
Planting a thought, a theory, an inspiration,
tending it, winnowing the weeds of doubt,
nurturing a simple truth long dormant
in the arable corners of an open mind.

Sometimes I cry,
as the whole world
engulfs into flames
remorseful eyes can't cry
so they glance enviously
Sometimes I cry,
when a shooting star
births a raging comet
that spilled this vodka
all over my remains
Sometimes I can't cry,
When the world turns
it's back on the suffering
that so many had endured
turning their souls to dust
Now you can cry,
As your mother's ashes
is poured in the sea
of strife to be consumed
by the forces of despair

In a time of living loving loud
Where memories made were galactic gold
You're serene smile through a clusterous cloud
And our journey enviously extolled
Oh how I pray to turn back time
To have you in our precious hold
But time turns me like a clocking chime
As the past is left to memorially mould.

There's a delicate line
between the sky and the earth,
and he who lives crossing this line back and forth is
a particle which has no distinct form but wobbles
in the orbit of the first dimension.
No matter how swiftly time has elapsed
no matter how things in the world changed
he is the nonexistent existence,
is yet unable to convince others
with understandable premise for his existence;
looking at the things in a three dimensional world
with resentful eyes, or in times, enviously,
still wobbling on the fine line
in the first dimensional terrain unreachable.

From head to toe,
He could win any fashion show.
Confident in his stride,
Clean on the outside,
Crisp is how he keeps his clothes.
With felted hat fit to size,
Ladies can’t help but to upon him fix their eyes.
And the brothas, enviously and erroneously coping his gait,
He laughs at them as they perpetrate.
Too cool for a cane,
With long thick hair he walks as king, proud of his mane.
Even his crockadile books match his pin-striped suits.
Style is clearly embedded in his roots.
Predating the culture of swagger,
This man here is my father.

Ah, sweet bonny flower face
That sits outside my door
Nodding in the eve time
Waking gently in the morn
Nothing so pretty as your pink-tipped petals
Nor as fragrant as you, my rose
Your very existence is poetry
Sprung up in a garden of prose
Ah, but my lacy lillies
Sigh enviously at your grace
And all my quiet pansies
Wish silently for your face
But only you are the queen of flowers
Beautiful now and forever more
You, sweet bonny flower face
Who sits outside my door.

The sun hid behind mountains,
afraid to show it's rays,
when it got a glimpse of your smile,
it said enviously, "no way!!",
Did you see her smile??, and it's rays???
only to issue a warning to the stars, and the moon,
of YOU heading their way.
The moon so assumed with it's different phases and such,
soon asked,
"what's the deal with her,.... sunshine???,
she can't phase me, let alone try to touch.
Then in a brisk, memorable tone,
you spoke, and the moon, envious too,
said oops!!!,
spoke to soon, I'm gone, too!!

Breezes blow from salty waters -
inhale
a gale of freshness lifts your dampened roots
and through your yurei hair
like a tablecloth is flicked to set.
Dark pools of honor glance my way
and stay
upon my haunted gaze.
Your pampered skin caresses longings
Deep behind such desupere-to 'versions
That you would give yourself to me
in passion's strained duress
and lean against my loneliness.
Just to taste your calming soul so rooted
in ripe blackened soil.
I chance a look at moistened lips -
so fractioned in time that I must shutter it into inner catalogs
upon catalogs of you.
In my mind and when alone, you are the only one
who knows -
who shows such interest in me that only by my
timely death upon a finely sharpened tanto
could my heart be quenched -
Now thirsty, nay, contented with
the moisture from your whispering lips
Enviously touched by salty mists.
