Ah, sweet bonny flower face
That sits outside my door
Nodding in the eve time
Waking gently in the morn
Nothing so pretty as your pink-tipped petals
Nor as fragrant as you, my rose
Your very existence is poetry
Sprung up in a garden of prose
Ah, but my lacy lillies
Sigh enviously at your grace
And all my quiet pansies
Wish silently for your face
But only you are the queen of flowers
Beautiful now and forever more
You, sweet bonny flower face
Who sits outside my door.

Ode
I had my first glimpse of her from the sandy beach,
her silhouette painted on the sky's canvas of peach
The regal double-mast brigantine, sailing out to sea
Upon waves she rode, full glory not yet at apogee
But whence the wind, her sails would be unfurled,
she'd glide quickly over waters, crested and curled
Fully hoisted and billowing in flowing trade winds,
chased by dolphins, breaking surface with dorsal fins
I longed to be a mariner aboard her quarterdeck
visiting foreign ports along the journey I would trek
Hearing tall tales the sailors were bound to embellish
Her crew was setting sail on a voyage I would relish
I yearned to stand at the helm; salt spray on my face
Memories of such an adventure I'd cherish and embrace,
on a vessel sailing between the sea and the stars
But I sit in the shallows, enviously watching from afar

It makes a heart glad to know
there are still, small country towns
like Woodford, where homes
with large old trees,
sit scattered between small shops
and local businesses
To think the spirit of Elvis exists
in a greengrocers’, called, “Grapelands.”
‘Elvis Parsley’ swivelling his hips
amongst the carrots and parsnips
imitating “Blue Suede Shoes."
I select a punnet of strawberries
as a smile slips out at the absurdity,
of how, some live out their fantasies
“Blue blue “…you can do anything
I cross the street to check out
a “Second-hand” furniture store.
It is closed so I cup my hands
and peer through the window.
A group of old, store mannequins
piques my interest, draped in 50’s fashions
It seems like a time warp, as there
are no opening hours posted on the door.
I wonder if the mannequins
are an eccentric collection,
or, if they were for sale,
which one, I would buy,
The one, with eyes, demurely cast down,
or, the arm-less one,
looking enviously past her
Back on the street, I inhale sun-warmed earth,
as I walk past a garden’s bright picket fence.
A shiny black crow flaps up, startled.
Suddenly I smell, what the scent of home
is like, for someone else.

What's up miss popular? People know about your greed
Ya, got the text. The "Hey, dotard, don't talk to me freak,"
The average joe, and those silly electronics"
Please, Click Itch, labeling others as the smelly geek
So many countless hours cushioning in luxury
Preparing to feed your lust, her dinner platter
Feasting on periodic table and splitting bonding
Then misguided paparazzi ask what’s the matter?
Dr. Gluttony's remedy, a coke and Mentos
Pridefully smiling as other families shatter
Expecting everyone’s contributions to the plate
Because, you are the modern-day narcissistic (*sore)
The search engines have endless pages on the topic
Upon your illusion throne, craving and wanting more
Deep down in the shadows, harbors your anger and wrath
Enviously fishing for a fresh party's primate
Yep, Scarlett, Megan and Kelly all have perfect cups
But don’t worry, over time your bim-bims will deflate
Sorry, Brittany and Jen both have the perfect butt
Though your horoscope says, “glutes are going to inflate”
Ma'am Trash Troll, you have not the cash flow of Uncle Sam
What A disgusting branded pathetic child you are
Your future will be a shabby truck driver's pit stop
Slothfully dreaming of becoming a super star

Sugar and spice, at what price?
Proper and prim, life is so dim.
Generously gifting, so uplifting.
Reliable and ready, I am steady.
Giving what I gain, never to abstain.
Helping honorably, always with no fee.
Charity charade, has become frayed.
Enviously eager, so sadly meager.
Loud with lust, pretending I must.
Dark with desire, raising me higher.
Rancid and rotten, I haven’t forgotten.
Weary and weak, you’re at my feet.
Gemmed with greed, fulfilling a need.
Mistrusting and mused, you’ll be used.
Manipulating minds, you are so blind.
Precious is my pride, to you I have lied.
Putrid ugly pleas, sorry but this is ME.

Delilah is a temptress with the magic of allure,
but special potions or devices aren’t required by her.
Women notice (enviously) her flawless skin so fair
and the unusual style of her lustrous long sleek hair.
She walks into a restaurant, a club, or any place. . . .
Silence falls as everybody’s gaze rests on her face.
The eyes of men are quickly drawn to a rosebud mouth
before they ever let their lustful eyes start traveling south.
That perfect mouth is painted pink. She lays one fingertip
seductively upon her pouty luscious bottom lip.
She wears a look “come hither” with the freshness of a girl,
and violets adorn her silky chestnut locks that swirl.
But merely entering the room is all she needs to do
for everyone to notice her most beautiful tattoo.
A rosy blossom at her eye the people see begin
to bloom out toward her cheekbone, and then narrow toward her chin.
A mark of beauty like no other they have ever seen:
this flowery tattoo must be the symbol of a queen!
Delilah only looks upon a man; his heart will burn,
and then he will do anything, this woman’s love to earn.
But the poor unfortunate with whom Delilah leaves
will taste forbidden fruit, and afterwards, he grieves.
That’s because Delilah cannot be with just one man.
This was the condition of another’s vengeful plan.
Because she spurned a powerful ancient god above,
he ruled that she would come to earth to never taste true love.
To keep her beauty, she must feel a mortal man’s desire,
but having one man more than once extinguishes the fire.
Should she stay with just one man, the tattoo near her eye
will fade away and like that flower, withering, she’ll die.
So the temptress - never staying in one place - moves on.
A night of passion, then her victim wakes to find her gone.
Having spent one night with her, his joy stays in the past,
and she, that lovely goddess, is denied a love that lasts.

The sun hid behind mountains,
afraid to show it's rays,
when it got a glimpse of your smile,
it said enviously, "no way!!",
Did you see her smile??, and it's rays???
only to issue a warning to the stars, and the moon,
of YOU heading their way.
The moon so assumed with it's different phases and such,
soon asked,
"what's the deal with her,.... sunshine???,
she can't phase me, let alone try to touch.
Then in a brisk, memorable tone,
you spoke, and the moon, envious too,
said oops!!!,
spoke to soon, I'm gone, too!!

Dramatic Monologue
In a time of living loving loud
Where memories made were galactic gold
You're serene smile through a clusterous cloud
And our journey enviously extolled
Oh how I pray to turn back time
To have you in our precious hold
But time turns me like a clocking chime
As the past is left to memorially mould.

Orchards of Opportunity
Alone in the orchard of opportunities
surveying the ripened potential
I pondered the fruitful labor of others
enviously sniffing the succulence of success.
Knowing that their success was only mine
in theory, in dreams, in unlimited potential.
Before me lay the future’s untilled fields
awaiting a touch, a vision, an awakening.
Planting a thought, a theory, an inspiration,
tending it, winnowing the weeds of doubt,
nurturing a simple truth long dormant
in the arable corners of an open mind.

Pitter-Patter on my Heart
Do not believe that your size in any way
diminishes the depth of my affection for you.
Some may say you are mere eating-pooping machines
but ever since you traipsed into my life a year ago
you’ve been pitter-pattering high and low
weaving circles all around my heart,
and your joyful ‘popcorn’ jumps
bring color to my dreams.
From you I know I couldn’t live apart.
Even your failed escapes from
the kitchen into the lounge where
I in vain try not to lose sight of you
tug at my old forgiving heart.
My duties to you I do not take lightly,
and know, Coco, Phoebe, that you can always
nibble at my paws, just remember to pause before
any mild irritation you should cause. And please
forgive me if on occasion I stare enviously
at bits of carrots and apples for some
reason they won’t let me share;
but fear not, for parsley and
cilantro I do not care.
Now let me clear the air,
whoever thinks that love and friendship
reside in the human heart alone
has never met you and me
my chatty little piggies.
Your loving canine friend,
Sasha
P.S. Please, do no pine for your birthplace in the Andes,
that’s a smoke dream that could only turn you
into some deep-fried or grilled
Peruvian delicacy.

"Diamonds"
I love the rain and the piano.
We are the diamonds
formed strong under pressure
we cut glass like blades cut through Winter's ice
the mirror shatters as we touch
they can’t break us
as hard as anyone might try;
We are the diamonds
shining bright and beautiful
reflecting light as piano notes
turn keys to wash clean
the tears of past pain's refrain
I love the piano and the rain.
We are the diamonds
camouflaged safe in the dark
impenetrable amongst all covetous shadows
with their hidden dark eyes watching enviously,
longingly and with anticipation
for a high fall from grace
But that won’t happen.
We are the diamonds,
made of stronger stuff than
shadows crying tears of past pain's refrain
thin veiled ghosts wanting to be diamonds just the same
We are the diamonds
Shining in the rain

Breezes blow from salty waters -
inhale
a gale of freshness lifts your dampened roots
and through your yurei hair
like a tablecloth is flicked to set.
Dark pools of honor glance my way
and stay
upon my haunted gaze.
Your pampered skin caresses longings
Deep behind such desupere-to 'versions
That you would give yourself to me
in passion's strained duress
and lean against my loneliness.
Just to taste your calming soul so rooted
in ripe blackened soil.
I chance a look at moistened lips -
so fractioned in time that I must shutter it into inner catalogs
upon catalogs of you.
In my mind and when alone, you are the only one
who knows -
who shows such interest in me that only by my
timely death upon a finely sharpened tanto
could my heart be quenched -
Now thirsty, nay, contented with
the moisture from your whispering lips
Enviously touched by salty mists.

If human brains hold such high capacity
Why is the use of intelligence scanty?
Some claim telekinesis and ESP
Are available to them quite readily
While others have trouble writing and reading
Is intellect defined in unborn seedlings
Pregnant mothers who listen to classic tunes
Say the passion for music grows in their wombs
But that can't explain the musical prodigy
Reincarnation gifts -- another theory
What roles do genes play? Can talents be bestowed?
Scientists seem focused on genetic codes
Talent and genius are enviously measured
By those who have neither such gifts are treasured
But the size of our hearts and the joy in our souls
Prove far more precious as a man's life unfolds
So much significance is placed on IQ
But our Lord is not apt to ask what we knew
When we face final judgment, God just might say
Did you use my gifts wisely or let them decay?
Did you use your wisdom for personal gain?
Did the talents I bequeathed bring you great fame?
Or did you open your heart, provide relief
To those needing comfort and help with their grief?
When you had no money, did you lend a hand?
Did you leave loving footprints across the white sand?
Great thinkers and athletes might feel they are blessed
But those who love are heaven's most welcome guests
Souls with talent and wealth may not measure up
To one who puts his last coin in a beggar’s tin cup

A saccharine rueful cry rode upon the wind,
not a howl but a solemn ceaseless wail of tears
whispering a last bell's ring, peal and tolling goodbye;
a farewell to blended melancholic images and visions
that once permeated the echoing halls and corridors
where voices rang a rhythmic haunt of point and purpose.
Now only the mournful chimes ring out
blending into one solitary hum of shrill vibrations
when heores fall and memories grow hollow and short;
their now inaudible representation fading
for those left to enviously follow
or others to willingly ignore the footsteps.
Imprinted on the breeze
the aureole of brillint sun begins to fade
and history inadequately records the garbled sounds;
time passing, inconceivable kaleidiscope discolorations
the venerated celibacy of thought expunged
by inherent truism of the amulets of freedom.
Tremulous and tender the pedantic strident sings loudly
and the ooze of the death knell tolls ineptly sings,
straining the ear to open, hear, listen to the reverberations;
the anthologic repository rigid, closes, locks in the wind,
while the alcove resounds indulgent in unequivocal silence
definitive climatic acknowledgement, the knell secured and muffled.
