Pushing the envelope outside the box
if only here to accentuate
the many ways in which
emu may emulate
by delivering nutrients' benefits
and what's more
help repair with anti-aging hydrate
yet won't clog your pores
they herd the birds in a mob
not a troublesome job or task
with ladle fire pit pot and hob
'How is it collected?' I hear you ask
as allegedly good for the skin
anti-inflammatory emu oil
is scooped off the bubbling surface
when they're brought to the boil

I slowly opened the envelope with hesitation. My repeated health test results would either reveal good news or bad news.
I had been praying, begging, and pleading to God for good news. I promised God that I would change my lifestyle. I promised God that I would become a better person.
I read the letter, line by line. I took a deep breath and exhaled.
My life was about to change.

The memory hurts but does me no harm.*
If I can get through the day without blame
and read some poetry that still aflame
the mind, then the wry words might hold some charm.
It has no purpose other than to breathe
free from the shackles of design and form,
so distancing myself from every norm;
from triggers encapsulated in sheath.
Experiencing novalunosis charm
it brings me close to Nirvana stance
where I freely explore without alarm
the many facets of the resistance.
Teasing out essence, it does me no harm,
but hurts seeing the earth from a distance.

Death, a warm envelope, tender and kind,
Embraces us all, leaves fear behind.
A gentle touch, a soothing call,
Inviting us in, one and all.
The spirit moves on, serene and free,
Joining loved ones in eternity.
A reunion sweet, a bond so pure,
In love's embrace, we find our cure.
No longer apart, no more to miss,
We join the ones we loved to kiss.
In that warm light, we find our peace,
From earthly sorrows, a sweet release.
Death's gentle hold, a calm embrace,
Guides us in love, to a timeless place.

Slowly,
nostalgia
trickles into
torrents,to flood memory's
canyon
Crystal clear, vision's backward gaze .All future certainty lies in the past, often distant memories linger fleeting and ephmeral is the dream.Yesterday's hero,a today's has-been,all perspective, out of true;twenty, twenty embellishes hind-sight .Experience forgotten wastes away superficiality now has its day..
on the wind
a bell tolls
memories surface
words unerased-
the image fades

BEAUTY a haibun verse envelope
togetherness lives
in the subtle scents of love-
as ego retreats
Beauty is something we see with individual eyes, only time can reveal imperfections of conceit.Deep within our soul resides attraction ,waiting, asleep yet longing to be aroused. Our need to be recognised, reciprocate and hold close.A certain something, intercourses between eyes,a novel read by a glance ,might last a lifetime.
across a room, looks
can indelibly imprint-
with love at first sight

It all started from an envelope
An envelope of promise to return.
Everyday a lady loved so dear by a young man
Is waiting for a letter in the mailbox.
Rain or shine, not a week passed
That a letter in an envelope is not delivered.
Until one day and a week passed
And not a single letter was dropped in the box.
Wondering what could have possibly happened to the male beau
The young lady sent a letter to her lover
But she received no reply.
Many weeks passed and the young lady got sick.
More weeks passed and the expectant lady spent days in bed.
She lost her appetite for everything.
She lost weight and was sleepless in many nights.
Until one day she received a letter from the mailbox.
An envelope of promise that she long waited.
Finally her energy went back.
And each morning she has won her life back.

"Envelope"
We knew what we were about
when we signed up
the other side of the mirror
mothers become gods
for a short while
and perhaps
long after
what servant is man
when he believes
he’s as big a god
in the realm
of playing children
lost for a time
in Bedlam
forgotten
sunk in the idea of building
something better, drunk on
below depth power
another's mindfield sucked on
like marrow from the bone
errant property lost somewhere
in that runaway train
women have always
held the Circe key
golden apples 3
before a goddess
unbreakable power held
within
true strong queens
locks
never guarantee
safety
and doors
sometimes disappear
in the undertow
invisible
drowned
and
envelopes
closed portals
don’t open

Lies tempt souls to hate and fight peace
Lies corrupt and tensions increase
Lies strike at the heart
To rip lives apart
Tearing at sane minds, piece by piece

Walking thru the door my heart drops,
As I see the envelope on the table.
I call out for my wife all I hear is silence.
Standing all alone tears welling,
Up in my eyes I have never felt pain,
Like this before as if a hot burning,
Poker has been thrust into my heart.
I fall to my knees crying,
Calling her name out.
Staring at the envelope who,
Is laughing in my face as my heart breaks.
The creaking of the door shuts,
As I hear foot steps coming behind me.
Then I hear her "Baby, What's wrong ?"
I look up as tears stream down my face,
Pointing at the envelope, Why??
Then I see Roses and Champagne,
She holds my face with her hands,
Kissing me softly lightly on my lips,
Holding me close,
Then looking into my eyes , she smiles,
Telling me, It's an ultrasound,
We're pregnant. We're gonna have a baby.
I lift her up hugging her never,
Wanting to let her go.

Buy ink which remains indelible on the soul
Lick your stamps as they should never lick themselves
Keep envelopes open to suggestions and to be stretched
Hide them in a dry place or pine desk out of trouble
Hold pens gently into the wind or corresponding weather
Leave an impression on the world as you write
Use an eraser but only after midnight
Employ an umbrella over your story
Deploy it in the rain if you compose
Protect your notes while rushing to the mail post
Kill trees only when necessary
Pray they don’t take revenge
Keep rain in buckets one drop at a time
Keep sanity at bay and asteroids at large
Stamp high as bays get wet in rising tides
Write letters with pens untouched by men
Utilize paper snow white and pretty
Mail correspondences twice if suspicious
Use two stamps because you can
Deliver yourself from evil
Let postmen know you are on to them
Send one letter at a time as mail is heavy
Give it time because time is burdensome
Let letters drop while servers do the rest
Wait for a response but don’t hold your breath

Mirror, my friend, I ask, if you please.
"Am I kind? generous? one who meets needs?"
Why ask? A stranger's hospitable deeds
are worth far more than empty vanities.

envelope rhyme
Humpty Dumpty, brave fall guy
attended the King's Christmas ball.
He never guessed his downfall,
empty headed, brain gone awry.
Humpty Dumpty's sneaky try,
bucking the Queen's serving line,
“Expelled! out back, you shall dine!”
close by yon royal pig sty.
Humpty Dump, give us a clue,
"Why did you behave so rudely?"
Your etiquette, so crudely
like a simple, naïve ingenue.
Humpty Dumpty then stone-walled
devouring a dozen eggs
plus twenty-four chicken legs
Sprawled thither on stone wall, he stalled.
Thus, Humpty Dumpty got bumped,
a bold nudge from one palace horse:
"Noble king cannot endorse
a cannibal, so totally stumped.”

for the mothers and children of Gaza
Frail envelope of flesh,
lying cold on the surgeon’s table
with anguished eyes
like your mother’s eyes
and a heartbeat weak, unstable ...
Frail crucible of dust,
brief flower come to this—
your tiny hand
in your mother’s hand
for a last bewildered kiss ...
Brief mayfly of a child,
to live two artless years!
Now your mother’s lips
seal up your lips
from the Deluge of her tears ...
