Why those best suited to high office never get elected

They are,
Still in touch with reality
They Value logistics over statistics,
They ask the right questions.

They don't believe in a totally cashless society,
Their vision for the future includes a roadmap,
That leads to prosperity for more than 10.

They see People, Water and the environment,
As assets that should never be auctioned off to the highest bidder,
They see benefit in strong communities.

They never make cuts across the board,
They understand that some services should never be contracted out.
That due diligence in this day and age is a heavy responsibility,
And put extra time and resources into it.

They understand that most white collar crime increases when,
Staffing levels drop to a point where,
The temptation to borrow and pay back,
Without anyone being the wiser,
Seems risk free to more people than you think.

They don't believe in overtaxing children,
But see value in afterschool jobs.
They refuse to hire spin doctors.

Elected and Protected Horn Haiku

when he was selected
eventually elected
to be protected

many things deny
of tissue need fresh supply
when she will cry and cry

when she wore pants suit
would have cost a lot of loot
bull she likes to shoot

what I must admit
from the scene he soon did split
when he had to quit

want to be impressed
which poem do you like the best
better than the rest

Self Elected Puppets

Where are the medicine men and women we could always trust
Have they all disappeared turned into dust

Replaced by snake oil salesmen dishing out pills
Hear the ringing of their over filled tills

And the despot leaders who elect themselves
Spoon feed on lust,greed,deception
Glorifying themselves with royal reception

Raping and draining the citizens who had no say in their election
Where are the surgeons to perform their dissection

Where is the democracy in picket lines in choosing between heating or eating,
Sanctioning your own citizens all based on a lie filling their minds with fantastic illusion

And the bear doesn't care.

Premium Member Apathy's Elected Mayor

Everyone's talking about crime these days
So few police, it seems thuggery pays

No hotter topics than murder or theft
No matter your politics be right or left

Though in Chicago one issue's strictly off-limits for talking heads
Mayoral race apathy - 32.6% turnout - means democracy's dead

Elected Officials

People whom your votes produce
And four or five succeeding years reduce:
Not like wage earners their bosses might sack;
Their tenures run out and they show us their back…
At the outset, magical initiatives that wouldn’t confuse,
At the finale a barrel-large hopeless excuse!
Like potent drugs, movers of a system forward,
Like expired ones, makers of things more awkward…;
You indicate them as your choices,
You simply hearken to their voices.
A leadership style can your last dime grab;
We have the economically brave but logistically drab:
A whole purse flatly draining
And you can just see that it’s badly raining.
No dirty files of theirs that you can’t pick,
Because all dirty files would at some point leak…
Election periods remain a time to think,
As some of these aspiring bundles stink.

Premium Member The Bloody Coup

We know that it was an inside job, that President Trump incited the mob. Why was home land security sent away to a place of obscurity? Where was the FBI who warned that some thing was going to fly? If heads must roll and some be gone, we must include the Pentagon. They deserted our Capitol police, so out numbered, now several deceased. Those elected officials who played their roles and watched while mayhem did unfold. They all better get their do for inciting this bloody unconstitutional coup.

Congress was Elected
By Franklin Price

Congress was elected
For the people of their state
To follow selfish party lines,
Degrades this country's fate

Be seated there because you care
Listen to constituents
Respond only to, who elected you,
Not inconsequential incidents

There as a representative
Not as one who stands alone
Not as a prince or princess
Who may ascend unto the throne

Don't think you are George Washington
Whom many wanted as the king
He refused, what makes you think,
We will bow and kiss your ring?

The populous is waking up
No longer buying what you sell
Start fighting for your people
Or they'll ring your ending bell

Just To Get Elected

Is there nothing they wont do
The depths that they'll sink to
Moral hypocrisy they'll let loose
Underhanded that they will use

Just to get elected...

Lies that they perceive
Putting dirty in the dirty deeds
Nothing at that they wont sneeze
Open Hell's gates and set them free

Just to get elected...

Tell us what we want to hear
Playing off our biggest fears
The headlights to our road deer
Always sounding so sincere

Just to get elected...

Tell us that they do but don't
Tell us that they will but won't
All in hopes they don't get caught
Never ever taking fault

Just to get elected...

Digging up the buried past
20-30 years at best
Never giving it a rest
Is this what we're left with

Just to get elected...

It's not like we have not been warned
They're the early birds and we're the worms
As they tell us no need to be alarmed
They mean us no physical harm

Just to get elected...

Remember this is the dating game
What you see is the well behaved
All I've got to say is just you wait
There's a big difference between do and say

With the elected...

True love is just another useless word,
So I accept this low-class life of mine.
There's no true love in this world,
So I do my best to cross the line.
With wires of pleasure spiking through,
Go figure, I erupt with nothing but lies.
I was numb before, so I don't feel you,
The elected miracle simply dies.

Breaking apart all of my thoughts,
I scream and shout out my misery.
The low-class future that connects the dots,
A disregarded human, that's all I see.
With wires of pleasure spiking through,
Go figure, I erupt with nothing but lies.
The thing that I once held close,
The elected miracle simply dies.

Accepting defeat, that's all I know now,
So I've accepted the low-class future.
I can't do anything to break the flow,
And I can't destroy this creature.
With wires of pleasure spiking through,
Go figure, I erupt with nothing but lies.
This thing that is what I was,
The elected miracle simply dies.

Who Elected Recent Presidents
By Franklin Price

Who elected recent presidents?
My guess is you don't know
It was not the ones who voted
But the ones who did not go

If you are of the majority
Whose ballots end up blank
Don't be disenchanted with results
You only have yourself to thank

The Elected

The Elected

Sharks leave the water to campaign on land
Drink Champagne at political parties
Draw blood; circle around, troll for enemies
Take contributions with a wink
Tease young girls, kiss babies, follow rules
To the point of razor sharp teeth
Follow schools of fish
Delicious to eat
Sharks don’t just swim. They float
Rainy days don’t help the votes
Bait dangles on hooks
Sharks steal it when no one looks
Change to gentlemen in a gesture
Genuflect when given gifts
Run, (though they have no feet) at the smell of money
Chummed up by buddies in muddied waters
Pray for a cause to chew the fat
Call Jaws if all else fails
Sharks fly when not swimming to victory
The media counts on them to lie
They lie in wait to strike
At the elected hour
When they rise to power
Sharks love the taste of cowards

Premium Member And If Elected

Ladies and gentlemen; in this
time of political upheaval and
uncertainty, we must never
forget those things which seem
to be forgotten. Those things
that only we can remember.
The things that our forefathers
remembered, and never forgot.
Remembering what it took to
never forget, and not forgetting
the thoughts that no one
seems to remember anymore.
Keeping in mind the main thing
that slips from others
memories, and not forgetting
all those forgotten things that
everyone else seems to forget
about. We must hold dear the
cherished memories that the
masses cant remember, and
remain steadfast in
remembering our ancestors
forgotten mindsets that will
always remind us to never
forget. And in closing I would
like to say that I hope that I
will never fail to remember the
forgotten thought that brought
me to this conclusion. If we as
a people fail to remember what
no one ever thought of, our
future generations will never
know what we didn’t think of.

Premium Member Elected Neglected

If you come in 'like a wrecking ball'
in your bare essentials,
you must expect
the shrapnel to cut deeper
than the skin,
lest you hide behind 'the party line'.

Politically speaking
if now we are being softened up
for the deep and gruesome cuts
in the budget to come,
then who will save us
when 'our beds are burning'.

Premium Member Elected In Christ

God in His great wisdom
made an eternal selection
a people for himself
He chose by election

This He did before all time
the creator first chose indeed
out of His great love a people
to be His own special seed

God has promised to keep those
who come to Him by faith
that before earth's foundation
they were Christ's, scripture saith

Many dislike this doctrine
but God has eternally said
no man can come to the father
unless life is given to the dead

This life can only come
when man is born again
so a new birth is God given
to rescue from satin's den

All that are elected in Christ
Jesus death was them alone
He died on the cross
for their sins to atone
