Cyrano de Bergerac 1619-1655

Cyrano de Bergerac
entered a race
not fleet of foot
but hoping to place
tho' quick off the mark
the competition so tough
kept him on his toes
when the going got rough
yet setting the pace
he won by a nose...
the schnozz on his face

Victor Davis Hanson Should Return the New Criterion's Edmond Burke Award

He writes op-eds for Fox and admires Don Bongino, Ed Henry, Brian Kilmeade,
Trey Gowdy, Bill Hemmer, Will Cain, Jason Chaffetz, Stuart Barney, Jesse Watters, Raymond Arroyo, Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, Mark Levin, Pete
Hegseth, Greg Gutfeld, and Lou Dobbs.
He predicted as a result of the 2020 election the country would be bitter, democrats would be blamed for making Trump into a monster, they would lose their power within two years and be considered a radical party.
He predicted that Biden would have no popular support, would not be able to put through any legislation, would never have a nominee for Supreme Court Justice and would eventually be relieved of his duties.
Even though most saw Trump as vulgar, uncouth, divisive and eccentric, Hanson would still vote for him. He saw Trump as a builder, dynamic leader, a regular guy from Queens and a better choice even with his bad boy attitude.

Premium MemberThe Ss Edmond Fitzgerald

In memory of the SS Edmond Fitzgerald
November 10, 1975
Seventeen miles Northwest of Whitefish Point, Michigan
Lake Superior

Twenty-nine crew men are cradled
in a watery grave
no distress calls were ever heard
no bodies ever recovered
the gales of November turned fierce
as the 729 foot ore carrier
plummeted to her final resting place
530 feet below
Lake Superior holds too many secrets
and leaves to many mysteries
It's unforgiving of sailors, yet
catches every tear from the families and friends
of the SS Edmond Fitzgerald

Premium MemberOverwhelming Moment of Telepathy

as our eyes met
as our eyes met
a thunderous spark
detonated in my heart

a sudden tsunami
of years of ancient history
in some telepathic wave
taking my breath away

i understood in an instant
it had all been a charade
how things really happened
the day we met

IT WAS HE
who noticed me across the room
and elbowed his buddy
who haphazardly reacted to the nudge
by flashing his big bright smile my way
and it just so happened our eyes locked
changing history

yes IT WAS HE
who was going through a rough patch
encouraged his friend to pursue me
and offer me a ride home
that’s how i fell for the clown

but today years later
his eyes betrayed him revealing
IT WAS HE
who had been in love with me all along
and here i'd been duped
ironically a victim to my very own version
of the classic Cyrano de Bergerac love triangle

dazed i stood in staggering awe
of what could have been

Clerihew Troubles

Clerihew Troubles
                  (Edmond Clerihew Bentley)

Edmond was a Clerihew. Is that some kind of clue?
And a Bentley too. A Cleri what? A Bentley who? Who knew?
This style of poem is named for him and not some other kin
It’s really way too short for me and getting under my skin

Losing You

Crying over someone who's probably not even missing me.
My poor heart's steady crumbling like an eroded rock in the sea.
Walking around as if you haven't even crossed my mind
As soon as I get alone all this pain just reveals itself, unwinds.

I didn't think I'd lose you like this... I was unprepared.
Things like this? That's why attachment gives me such a scare.
You don't even know how much I'm hurting inside Edmond.
I'm crying again... haven't eaten... barely been sleeping.

So many ways for you to be taken from me, I didn't see this.
I'm so frustrated... I'm so sad... but not at all pissed.
My dad's reasonings are more than reasonable, I'll do as he says,
But I miss waking up to your voice... and those couple lettered texts.

I am so ...sad.

I Still Cry

On August 12, 1998 my Mom died
All I know is that I cried

When I rushed from my new home in Edmond
All I did on the way there was cry

I got to the house and rushed to her room
And I saw that everyone was crying

I looked at her and saw the pale yellow in her skin
And all I could do was cry

I looked into her yellowish eyes, full of pain
And all I could do was cry

Then a single tear fell from her right eye

She took her last breath at 8:15 am
And all we could do was cry

The very next day I had to go to school
I was new, and sat alone at lunch and cried

Cancer took my Mom away
And still today I cry

Twice...The Purge..The Divine Cure

Tommorrow will see the coming of a PURGE,
Oh! Salem...Oh! Bethlehem...Yes..! Jerusalem,
Living a life so Solemn,
Peace and Love to Becky and Carmen,
Twice this much to Angela and Edmond.

We must play on flutes to welcome Jutes,
Lets fuse a whole lot of Bass into your Salsa,
This gate is a sure link to Life,
God is good...Lets see how far you can pay his Price,
The airfreights of Grace....God's grace that does not displace your race in Life,
Introducing our major Talents and Tastes.

Yours is the life i live,
Your wagging tongue and True Talks to all sundry your Imaginations,
Who paid angels to ring ding dunged bells,
Yes to sift through the brains of Riff-Raffs and Belles,
Or to flee from grieving Halves,
God-driven yatchs of life.

Peace to Solomon,Sulaimon and My Christ,
Double to Almighty God, His finesse, Style, Class and Omnipotency,
Eyes of men must read his Words and Tremble,
The Holy Land, This holy book, Its doctrines of Love and Their little chores,
Was it a Curse,Bluff or Cross and Plough,
Peace and Love to Rome, England and France.
Your well spoken Latin, English and Spatters of French.

An Ode To a Genius "shauna Allebach"

1.
I have invited Shauna Allebach to a date to my table to drink wine,
She picks my flagon of rare ales and pours herself a glassful of wine,
Sweet lips hanging from her wine's glass's tip ,I'm so confined,
I see her creativity in a new design,
To my thoughts i resign,
Seeing intelligence in display on her every storyline,
"For iron sharpeneth iron" a true sign,
So true as "Saxon" eating swine;

2.
My arms akimbo,
My salient mind in limbo,
Anthony Edmond John picks up his quail, ink and this page,not a stumble;
Two sheets have I crumbled,
Still piecing together words to qualify M.Shauna Allebach,
For its for this genius i organise this praise rumble,
Our minds entwined making me humble,
My hands on this page see them fumble;

3.
I see you at the top no wonder,
Never let naive minds put your creativity asunder,
Nor let negative souls your inner you they plunder,
I give it up you! let the world feel your creative touch as a peel of thunder,
My darling, never forget Man with his blunders,
Be focused never look yonder,
Remember your pact as a literary saint,
In shades of gold do I adorn and bejewel you,
My crowned POETIC QUEEN.

Drums of Joy

Here are the drums of joy beating to tingle my breasts,
To enliven the downtrodden spirit in me these drums....moves feets,
It rhythmic outpour seeps through my nipples alleviating the sorrow in me,
What a form of 'Art' that has placated my troubled mind.

See my waist my love, can you hold it from swaying to this lifechanging
  vibrations,
It does no harm dancing more ferrociously to this graceful sounds,
  My heart is at peace,
Fat is my soul that was amiss,
Confident now am I as Mozart would find his fingers on the piano,
All thanks to this DRUMS OF JOY.
                                                            ANTHONY EDMOND JOHN
