A MONSTER IN SIERRA LEONE KUSH

Kush is both a lover and a monster
Capturing the hearts of our youth.
Its eyes, as deep as the night and bright as stars
Hold secrets of passion and unspoken truths.

With a touch that sends shivers down the spine
It suffocates the soul into delirium.
Its voice, a haunting melody
Whispers promises and fears alike—a lullaby of sweet agony.

Draped in a velvet cloak of desire
It prowls the landscapes of dreams
Leaving traces of warmth and damage
And claw marks of yearning on Sierra Leonean youth.

This creature, born from the wild storms of the heart
Is a keeper of boundless affection
A distributor of heartache
A beast of love that devours our youth.

FORGED IDENTITY

The world is a child growing up
Demands much, asks for too much.
It could be a fragment of one's character
Or a pinch of value, yet a burden thereafter.

As a distributor, meeting the demand
One may be tempted to forge identity:
Tainted nails, a pair of dark glasses
Extended brows, ugly looking eyelashes.

You can wear a mask to play a part
But the play may never start.
Like changing girls for satisfaction
No one will know your true attraction.

Life is a dark humor play—
Believe it or not, you’re just a stray.
You can act well but can’t fake a role
Or change what the script hold.

Car Catastrophe

With my new job I got a pay
Every week I got to save
Money for some family fun
Until it came all undone

Now my balance is at nothing
Cause my car always has something
That needs to be fixed
All my money it has kicked

Out of my pockets, now I'm broke
All these repairs aren't a joke
Mechanics are getting rich
From my car being a b-- ch

Timing belts, distributor caps
Rods that are broken and snap
Oil leaking, it's not fun
Everytime I think it's done

A new problem makes me tired
Like the broken window wires
Brakes and spark plugs, oh my gosh
Is it ever gonna stop

All the money I put in
To get this years inspection
Sticker done so I don't worry
For all the passengers safety

Should be worth it now cause I
Don't have to look around and buy
A new car, I will have one
When all the repairs are done

Excavator Gave Him Navigator

That’s the job that gave him Navigator
After goodbye to Lift Operator;
Months on the TV as Moderator
And a US firms Gum Distributor…

But Bruce had not wanted Excavator,
Rather Peace-Keeping as Mediator:
“All these awkward passions for artifacts
And choosing to celebrate old facts:
Inquisitive shovels disturbing soil
One might think one is prospecting for oil;
Forbears working on their forgotten face:
Intriguing findings they’d championed the race”.

From excavation grabbed ventilator,
Also, a machine with indicator
And soon a mansion with elevator;
Impenetrable to terminator…

Still, Brice’s true love: his black navigator
The Jeep he drives dressed like Gladiator:
Smart, American with fine radiator…

Premium Member Cylinder Doesnt Play

Electrical spark, you are nothing without me!
Brags arrogant spark plug, my cousin, Lee.
Distributor gets mad and keeps current back.
Cylinder gives spark plug a mighty ugly mean whack.
Gasoline engine starts up now in the right way.
Jealousy handled by Cylinder, because she don’t play!

The Poet, El Poeta

Poet,
                rich divine grace
                poor donor.
                gift distributor,
                thief of vernacular jewels...
                Poet,
                whore who loves to donate
                conqueror of loves
                mismatched...
                Sorrow healer
                 excruciating,
                exposed wound healer
                 calcining.distant,
                wishes the distant infinity,
live the universe, too close by
here in the same corner... !

Premium Member Dwelling On the Nullabor

I took a three-day trip
in my Kombi
across the vast
Nullabor Plain
tree-less and
deserted.
I crossed it in the 1980's
before it was
bituminized.
I was told to take
these three essential things:
a house brick
a thick blanket
a dwell meter / timing light.

The brick was to keep
the accelerator flat-out on.
The road was dead straight
for miles and miles and miles,
one stretch 90 miles long
without a single bend.

The blanket covered my head
while I used the
dwell meter / timing light
to adjust the
ignition point timing
by rotating the distributor.

The dust meant that the timing
fell out, time after,
time after time.
These spells for
dwell checks
did the trick.

Premium Member Two Diverse Reactions To Ding Dong

Ding dong

Child runs for the door
Eager, excited, thrilled
With whoever is there
Expecting the best possible scenario

Adult has completely different reaction
Slowly gets off of couch, heads toward door
Home invasion? Religious pamphlet-distributor?
Girl Scout Cookie sales?

Experience and knowledge have taken their toll.

Premium Member Loving Yemen

The Greek philosopher Ptolemy described Yemen as “happy Arabia”.
Understanding her beauty during ancient days.
Some have changed this to “Fortunate Arabia”.
Both names enlighten her in positive ways.

One of the oldest centers of civilization in the near East
Yemen is rich in culture, a historical significant, a well-known beast.
Yemenis developed the south Arabian alphabet by century number eight.
She is a conglomerate of modern and ancient, both worlds so great.

Home of powerful city-states and empires, Yemenis also control
Production of highly sought out frankincense and myrrh in her whole.
She had exclusive access to spices from South Asia in her earliest days.
Also was the distributor of plumes and ivory, an East African craze.

Yemen was a middle man, who knew what she was doing loud and soft.
The prophet Muhammad sent his son-in-law to Yemen to build two mosques.
This may have been the beginning of Islamic architecture, one thing for sure.
She is a gorgeous, rich country with a culture and history that is amazingly pure.

Promotor of, "feel good days "
You are my portion of good will
I love the way you share your rays
Far better then any pharma- pill

Lover of people and animals alike
You warm the earth and feed a flower
I don't know what life would be like
if you didn't shine, inside my hour

Distributor of tans and wholesome vibes
I'd fly it, train it, drive it, all for love of you
You are just what the doctor prescribes
Sun , only you are able to restore & renew

Promotor of , "feel good days"
I love the way you share your rays.

Alone For the Rest of My Soul

At just 30, please death take this to her:
For I was thinking that life start at forty
For I had hidden the good side of me mother,
For that me, there is another me stealthy;
A good son you once dream, that is not a robber,
rapist, political thug, cultist, dope distributor,
A well educated, that never try to kill his brother
Not a road mugger, and not a village destructor

Kaka, i am no more, that evil is out of me now,
And say good things about me later, please,
Give them my legacy, and lied that i rest in peace
Recall me before age ten; the joy i never know;
And smile I forgot off, mildness son you once love
Alone mother, untroubled, for the rest of my soul.

Rename America Exxon

We should rename America and call it Exxon.
Salute their new flag at the rise of dawn.
To ten of our highest ranking officials, Exxon is their top contributor.
So do you really think that they will look for another oil distributor?

Have you looked at our banking system lately, it is a joke.
We should have listened to president Jackson when he spoke.
He threatened to resign if we brought corporate banking to this nation.
He said banks would control the government and enslave this generation.

He couldn't have been more right, but we did it anyway.
Now look at us, were in debt that we can never pay.
I don't know what your view on this is, but I hope you can see,
none are more hopelessly enslaved, than those who falsely believe they are free.

In Between Hearbeats

Got to go to work in the morning
But baby I ain't got no job
I have so many places to be
But darling I ain't got a car
I'm hungry!
But Meals-On-Wheels don't come on this end of the ghetto
Plus they say I'm too young
But man, if thangs don't hurry up and change
I ain't gonna live long enough to get old

I bought a .38 to protect my house
Now I need that same gun to keep me from getting kicked out
My babies are in the dark crying
My ol' lady praying and cussin
Saying that if it wasn't for my good midnight lovin'
I wouldn't be nothing

The only thing harder than being hard
Is being smarter than the smart
Thats what I thought when I stuck up the West- Side's main
Reefer distributor
And I wasn't going to have a second thought of squeezing the trigger
Until that fella fell, kicked, yelled, and screamed out loud
My whole entire name that was the same as his

See, this cat was the the man that Mama said was my daddy
Who cut out on her right before she had me
Until this day I hadn't even seen
Not since the age of three back on Christmas Day of 1983
