Premium Member THANKFUL FOR DRAGONFLIES

Today I’m thankful for dragonflies.
We find them by ponds, in lakes in rivers and by streams.
I love how the first people to populate this land believed
dragonflies were the deliverers of dreams.

And I particularly love this indigenous point of view:
If a dragonfly sits on your shoulder…
all your dreams will come true.

Reagan and Hinckleys Bullets

Some forty years back, in Time Magazine,
Saw I a narrow missing of bald head
By the bullets from Hinckley’s magazine
He had reserved for Ronald Reagan’s head,
Save that they had agreed about his ribs:
If Cowboy still lived, talk like babes with bibs…

The missed lucky skull that of a press man
I still remember bald, some kind of pan,
The Guy having bent down to catch his note,
Able to fast do so in a thick coat…

God! It must have been some sacred jotter
And this it proved against shorts that totter…

Either Satan forget his script and ways
Or God had sought to lengthen his days;
Still the jotter was his damned rescuer,
When Hinckley had wanted to heads skewer,
The jotter qualifying for the archives;
If you asked me: Deliverers’ Archives!

Tipping Time

The time of year to tip is here –
The doormen and the super,
The newspaper deliverers;
Unless you’re in a stupor…

You give some dough so they will know
That they’re appreciated
For cash is always welcome –
Booze or candy just seems dated.

My favorite quip about a tip:
A parking lot attendant
Who, maybe, was on Christmas tips
Especially dependent…

Received no gift so he was miffed
And left, for every owner,
A duplicate of his first card,
Encouraging each donor.

But this card said, in bold and red,
On top of “Season’s Greetings,”
“Second Notice!” which would not
Need any more repeatings.

Sonnet Life

Thy death will show the world how you lived,
Thy life story will reveal thy successes and failures;
The efforts you made will speak what you achieved,
And all will go down in history as your deliverers.
The number of grievers who attend will show
How popular you were and what they remember;
Dust will settle down soon and stealth will all know,
Your goodness to others will only be cinders.
Don't endure rigidity in your affairs and dealings
This will not help you while you are blooming;
Nor will it have a positive impact on your leaving
These little things if you abide will be enduring.
You still have the time to mend your ways,
Too late is not that late to begin the stakes.

Premium Member The United States Postal Service

We are the deliverers of the United States mail.
Even when there is rain, snow, sleet, and hail,
in our daily services, we will not fail.
We deliver letters and packages to where you work and live.
Nothing but good service is what we have to give.

Inspiration: Our Daily Bread of Life

Inspiration is all around me. It swirles in the midst of darkness and deceit.
Blinded by dry tears...the deliverers of this blessed word find me when I know not what to look for or where...
I and my kind walk in circles looking for and end to pain, deceit, betrayal, unlove, uncareing. We are looking...but not invane.

When the circles we walk in seem endless take heart and know that it is not a downward spiral... Keep looking and you will see...

Premium Member They Will Never Roam

In modern warfare conflicts
We need to get there fast
Giant transporter aeroplanes
Take off in turbine blast

Inside these metal birds
That fly through natures skies
Deliver our knights in armour
To fight an enemy despised

These deliverers of peace
Will also take them home
Some will walk the apron
While others will never roam

We will always remember them
The way they left our shores
Just like our heroic veterans
All those years before

To watch them march so slow
Coffins held aloft
Their carriage that awaits them
Turns hard men to soft

On their tear laden journey
Our lost ones finally home
For in all our hearts
From there, they will never roam

The Emerald of the Spirit (Acrostic)

Take notice of all the beauty that surrounds you.
He is alive; the truth is inside your heart so true.
Everyone has doubts at some point, all of us do.

Emerald a jewel with such beauty with glitter too,
My spirit has faith even when my mind says for who?
Each and everyone have had misery without a clue.
Reality sets in when heartache has blackened hue.
Angels are deliverers and bearers of what is new.
Let’s just take a glance into a baby’s eye of blue.
Delivered upon this earth with a delightful coo,

Only one entity could bring a miracle like this.
Freedom of life and choices of human bliss,

Take another look around you each new day.
Hear the power he conveys; see the life at play.
Exemplified by his words, as well his loving way,

Since the birth of our generation, we have labored strong.
Preparing for what we have known and to just belong.
Inspiration of the soul lacking, have our hearts been wrong.
Richly in everyone’s heart, there is a space that has a song.
Individually we have one moment, and then we knew it all along.
Till the Emerald spirit glistens, we realize, we are among a throng.
