Premium MemberIf I came back as a creature

If I came back as a creature, I hope it might be a monarch butterfly.
Or a lima bean colored luna moth or a female deer or a green elf.
I do not want to come back as a baby goat.

What about a penguin? Would you like to be a penguin?
Maybe an empire penguin or a striped

CREATURE FROM THE PAST ?

[ Poem inspired by Contest : Ghost of Frankenstein : sponsored by Tom Woody ]

CREATURE FROM THE PAST ?

Elite scientists are the scariest humans
their minds think up stormy waters with acumen
these they traverse with little concern
for millions of quarters that could wisely
be used with much more discern

dinosaurs, woolly mammals, dire wolves
already

Creature of habit

Creature of habit

I have never been the one to hang onto feelings like my life depended on it.

I have never been the one to check my phone constantly for a dude's messages.

Unfortunately, everything when it came to you was different.

I became someone I readily hate because of you.

Deep inside, I knew it was not

Solitary Creature

New kid lost in a new world, when separated
from what was known and loved, alone when separated.

Some animals regrow lost parts of themselves: twisted limbs or tail.
Parasites die without another to depend on. They die when separated.

Barnacularly reaching out to anyone who will notice, with bird-like wails,
desperate to be seen, to survive, before it is

Premium MemberCreature of Doom

What creature is this that cometh near
His luggage filled to the brim with fear
Crushing our lives, crushing our beliefs
O whence for me shall bring only griefs
What of the men whom now weep?
What of the woman buried alive in their sleep?
What of the children who once stood brave?
Their minds controlled their souls enslaved

The baneful trumpets sound

New Revelation

Spillage on my picture,
Dark black creature,
Now you can see the
White lines, purple, either.
Running up my arms like a suture, churning
Piercing gaze through the dark, hurting,
In and out like quick breath, blurting,
But all I don’t see front is certain,
Bright like medic hand, mine or my brand,
But all I understand is draw the curtains.

If your heart has become a wild creature that no longer recognizes the cage of your ribs,
If it crashes against your chest like an animal caught in the trap of unbridled desire,
If it howls at the moon of silence, begging for a drop of mercy in the eternal night,
Then lend me your heart, to shelter

My Longing Creature

Crack! I lay, beneath me creaking
Hath it taken from me? What to give?
Mayhaps yesternight another seeking
For not many there is to live
It approaches, shaking, floors creaking
To thee I will never forgive

The black, slender arms reach
It thrashes! THRASHES, thrash–
Follicles, it pulls, off me, I screech
With many a fang, I faintly see a gnash
 Holding me, gripping

THE MERMAN II

One day I decided to go on
A vacation with
Family and friends
We stayed at an Airbnb
With the perfect water
Front view, I step out to
Get a closer look
And take pictures of the
Beautiful view with
My phone, when it slipped
Out of my hands and fell in
The water, a few minutes later
It was tossed back onto

Premium MemberA Dark Soul

I will not burn in Hell/
Like anyone else Will burn/
I will breathe that fire/
Like it is my air/
You turned me from God/
You did this to me/
You turned me into/
A creature from Hell/
I am an innocent man/
Why did you do this to me/
The only evil/
Is the evil you bring/
It's my choice/
To go to Hell/
You damned me/
You

disgusting little red creature

disgusting little red creature
beating on the floor
with its ugly feet
like tubes — rosy and violet-colored
sucking the air like an ameoba
wanting for flavors long extinct

disgusting red little creature
pumps its little legs
spilling itself on every
creature it lands on
like a bee stinging frozen leather
wanting for victories long extinct

ugly little red creature
transplanted itself
only to be attacked by the

Gentle Creature

Gentle Creature

Who calls you forth
from beneath,
the hung pine?

Eyes of black coal,
gentle swaying body,
watching, curious,
step forward.

Spotted coat.
Horn moles of bone,
siblings brush past, play.
You nuzzle the sweet grass.

A twig snaps,
ears flicker, you stop.
A soft bleat,
Mother's call.

Back to the arms
of the pine
safe within
the flora of green.

A quick glance

Beautiful creature

What words can I use, speechless
What art can I use, sketchless
Your beauty exceed words
Your beauty is beyond demonstration
Its just over extremes

I heard about Garden of Eden's beauty, it's satisfactory
I have seen the Peacock, it's gorgerous
But your beauty unique, very special.

"Beauty is in the eyes of the beyonder"
 Yours is
