Folks are so busy denouncing each other

~ They forget every man is their brother

Ignotus

Would you love me again
If you see me in gehenna

Would you hate me still
If you see me in heaven

This angst of love and hate
Will it end here or in limbo?

Since I know nothing over time
Of your disposition to me

My heart has become droplets
In the realm of nothingness.

Premium MemberYour Journey To 100

On your journey to one hundred, I say,
Try laughing, learning, and loving each day.

You’ll meet many travelers along the way.
Share memories with others, take time to pray.

Enjoy a sunset, eat a piece of pie.
Take in life’s beauty and quit asking why.

Take a long walk as often as you can.
Talk with a loved one, walking hand in hand.

Thank your Creator for all you’ve received,
For the comfort in times when you grieved.

Open your heart letting love flow right through.
Happy you’ll be in whatever you do.

Premium MemberIt's just an Adventure

looking back to when I was a lad
They said times were hard, They said things were bad.
Picking up tatties, the pulling of peas
Coming back home with scratched grimy knees.
Screwing the Beetroot, yes that is right
Removing the tops from morning till night.
You couldn't cut the tops off, that made them bleed
Keeping your eye out for the sharp stinging weed.
Finger nails were always full of mud
Scrubbing hands would do no good.
Summer break were still lots of fun
When working the fields were almost done.
We didn't have computers, four channels of TV
Top of the pops were the highlights for me.
Kicking the football out on the street
A clip around the ear from the bobby on the beat.
Looking back it wasn't that bad
Lots of fond memories when I was a lad.
Holidays were over it was back to the grind
Wondering what lessons the teachers had in mind.
I didn't mind maths and history was great
The adventures we made up me and my best mate.
Now that I'm older looking back realise
My whole life's been an adventure through this pair of eyes.

Ghosted

They say it’ll pass
it’ll get better the longer it lasts

They say what’s done is done
but i don’t feel like i’ve won

You took my heart
tore it, broke it, till it fell apart

Now you play the victim
the hole you created, i sit in

I don’t want to become
the monster i’ve come from

Obsessed with yourself, with fame, with money
then you sit and describe her like sweet honey

You say it was harmless
a friendship, nothing more, but now I’m the farthest

You lied with a smile, called in love with a grin
while I drowned in silence, you let her in

In my silence, I find space to breathe
while all you do is leave, leave, leave

She pulls the strings
and I watch horror as the show begins

She has you at her beck and call
and you forget me as I suffer in school

You left me stranded, no reason, no clue
while she became your favourite view

You watched me break, still walked away
now I drown slowly, in the pain that you gave me

Some day you will pay

Premium MemberSleepwalking Through the Day

       Sleepwalking through the day
there’s a heavy price to pay

       Tapping into feelings within her
          opportunity gone-a-glimmer

       Friendships never formed
          lives never transformed

       Delicacies swallowed whole
          unseen flight of the oriole

Premium MemberThe Day My Friends Went Insane

They were my gentile friends, ones I could count on
They stood by me when times were tough

A pep talk here, a couch to sleep on there
They kept me from falling through cracks

Year after year, we shared the cheers and the tears
Patient as saints, they helped me conquer my fears…

Until October 7, ’23, the day 1,200 of my Jewish brethren were slain
They felt I was to blame ~ though it was they’d gone insane

  ____________________________________________________
On October 7, 2023, Hamas radicals and 'ordinary Palestinians,'
along with some UNRWA workers, murdered 1,200 people in Is-
rael, almost all of them Jews. (A significant number of Israelis
were raped and burned alive as well.) Hamas also took about
240 people hostage. About 50 of those hostages are still be-
ing held in captivity by Hamas today, over 600 days later.

P.S. How can I, who have lived in Chicago since 1979, be to
blame for Hamas/Palestinians murdering, raping, burn-
ing and kidnappings Israelis on October 7, 2023?!

Sunday Smile

Sunday smile is for everyone
Who knows friends and friendship.

Sunday smile is for someone
Whom you share hardship and love.

Sunday smile is for yourself
Whom you dedicate works all days.

Sunday smile for the one you adore
Whom you owe life, that is God.

2 Corinthians 1:4 “Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.”

pleading for relief
from the darkest grief

my heart was torn in two
one part light, the other askew

shadows filled my life
there was so much strife

then there came the truth
He loved me from my youth

still as the song of praise
joy that can always amaze

when I let His spirit shine
showing the world He’s mine

there is assurance of grace
oh, how I long for His embrace

pleading for a new hope
wondering if I’ll be able to cope

time seems to move me away
from the moment when I can pray

there is peace that consoles my spirit
it’s the music so alive and I hear it

the world is such a lost, lonely place
only the love of our Savior can erase

the darkness that covers every feeling
blessings come to souls who are healing

pleading for a second chance, a new day
love this alive is love that seems to say…

let go and let God’s voice restore your belief
there is One who is love where you’ll find real relief

February 14th

In a world of festivities, we prioritize the frivolous,
Elevating Valentine's Day, a celebration quite dubious.

February 14th, a day assigned to love's display,
Yet, I refute this notion, for love should be everyday.

In my culture, this celebration reeks of absurdity,
Promoting premature sexuality, a moral calamity.

Should we allocate a day for love's celebration?
Does this imply we've been fostering hatred in iteration?

Even young learners, grades 6 and above, are caught,
In the web of crushes, a trend that's quite distraught.

In Africa, hotel rooms are booked, a Valentine's spree,
Teenagers dominate, leaving one to ponder the decree.

Are we more Catholic than the Pope, in our fervor and zeal?
Valentine's Day, a celebration that love's true meaning does conceal.

So, if you choose to celebrate, do so with reverence and might,
Upholding cultural heritage, and the sanctity of love's light.

Let organizations, schools, and families unite,
Educating teenagers on the dangers of sexual abuse, a love that's not right.

Premium MemberRobert Burns 1759-1796

His work is known around the Earth
This ploughman lad of lowly birth
He wooed and won the lassies braw
His Jean the fairest of them aw
He honoured such as mice and men
And friendship flowed beneath his pen
Of parity and justice wrote
A line that I take leave to quote
“That man to man the world o’er
shall brothers be...” can’t ask for more.
Diverse his works, out of his time
The man who gave us “Auld Lang Syne"

Premium MemberChristmas Spell

I've seen a falling star tonight
Shine a little, shining bright
The snow is falling
As winter's calling
The ring of sleigh bells
The waltzing of Christmas spells
Bring us all together
In this cold, cold weather
How do you wrap a heart full of love
When you're wrapping the feelings your thinking of?
With the trust and the sharing
That special time for caring
In this festive season
He's the only reason
I'd rather give what I believe
That part of me you will receive
I can see the feeling in your eyes
One that brings a joyous surprise
So open your heart the Christmas way
With a little faith in a miracle, open it on Christmas Day

Premium MemberNew Beginnings

No, I have no anwers, but sincerely wish I could!
I cannot… just feel like flying over my neighborhood!

I see us a nation, now have regained our senses.
Let us go to the park and leap over tall, silvered, fences!

And thus, for days, I have not slept very much.
Nor, with poetry friends, have I kept touch!

My hopes for our future are crystal clear and bright.
Sending hugs to all, from my deepest soul-sight!

    With joy and gratitude,-))))))
