Sleepwalking Through the Day

       Sleepwalking through the day
there’s a heavy price to pay

       Tapping into feelings within her
          opportunity gone-a-glimmer

       Friendships never formed
          lives never transformed

       Delicacies swallowed whole
          unseen flight of the oriole

Good one Gershon. Life is filled with too many missed opportunities because we all sleep walk through life.

I wish I had done more but I'm still playing catch-up. I try not to worry about it. And books. Most unread.

Agreed - very true on all of those - even delicacies swallowed whole - lol. Missed opportunities...a good reminder to be present.

I enjoyed your couplets, gw. We often miss many blessings in life because we are in such a hurry we don't notice the depth of the things going on around us. Your poet friend in Texas, Tex aka BB

after reading your poem, I'm glad I don't sleepwalk through my days. :-) Although sometimes, I'm so busy that I miss the opportunity to savor what crosses my path. A delightful read

Great rhyming. Sad that delicacies were not savored and I never thought of it that way. Sara K

I can see why sleeping during the nighttime is so popular. This is dreamy and lovely, Gershon. :)
